  • maybe when you die you become senile! thats why the dead speaking to cold reader don't even remember their own name well or who they were or what they did specifically in life, Then it means all spirits suffer from Alzheimer desease...must be hell!

    or its simply all crap.

  • @ErgoProxy12345 great line for a stand up comedy about supertition i'll use it

  • That cold reader is such a piece of shit.

  • I believe none of these people here. This might be possible if someone were open to it,none of these people are I feel.I slept on my sisters couch in NJ.Someone SHOOK me HARD 3 times I got up,checked,......all in the house were asleep.I called the hospital in NYC,asked the nurse to check my mom who was dying of cancer."Just checked her 10 minutes ago,she is stable" the nurse said.I said,"Well, something just shook me awake ! " OH,..OK,I'll check. She came back, your mom is dead. What was that ??

  • @billy1212ist It's called a bad dream, probably brought on by the fact that you knew your loved one was in danger. Haven't you ever woken yourself up like that before? Coincidence brought on by the situation.

  • What a PHONY!!

  • I think it's funny that whenever this supposed psychic medium is trying to answer a question, his speech becomes weaker and stumbles over his words, he has a hard time maintaining eye contact with the firm stare of Dawkins, and uses personal feeling as his explanation rather than any solid evidence, or straight forward answer, and when trying to provide something that sounds straight forward, he's trying to use fast talk to provide an evasive answer.

  • I have seen some examples of modern sonar that produce everything just short of a full colour picture. I am sure that in a few years, they will even have that sorted out. If bats receive anything like the images we get with electronic sonar systems, I wonder if they need eyes at all...

  • An interesting title but it leaves out the fact that we can also be

Enemies of That Which We Cannot explain --- or --- Slaves of Reason.

Can you explain an apple ? How is it that this thing appears so real when it is in fact 99,9% empty space ? Where does the taste come from and why don't cats like apples as I do ?

  • @claudelebel55 We see the apple because our sight is based on receptors for photons, and photons are generally large enough that they reflect off the atoms of the apple and come to the eye. If my eye were not made to receive photons but instead some other sort of EM radiation, the apple would look different indeed. Many people with a specific condition can see into the UV spectrum, and they see many plants and flowers very differently- flowers often have UV markings to attract insects.

  • @7j8i9m the photon reflects off the atoms but what is an atom ..... up, up, up the magnification and we find mostly (99,9%) empty space and no solid matter. What are the photons reflecting off of exactly ?

  • @claudelebel55 Cats don't like apples because their digestive system is set up to be carnivorous, with a low tolerance for plant matter. Whereas your system looks at an apple and sees a big fat sack of glucose with a shell that keeps insects out (the real reason you find it tasty- it was a good source of energy before you evolved to eat it)... a cat sees glucose bound up in undigestible fiber. It would be like you trying to eat grass, your system can't cope with it, even though cows love it.

  • @7j8i9m OK, but you skipped over my first 2 questions. If I keep looking more and more deeply into the apple, I find no solid mater whatsoever. So where is the apple and what is it exactly ? What exactly is the nature of this indigestible (for cats) sack of glucose ?

  • @claudelebel55 Well, about 90% of the mass of that apple comes from the empty space between the quarks in protons and neutrons. Why empty space weighs something and what it actually is, is currently unknown.

The reason you can feel an apple is the fact that there a forces that prohibit any matter or energy to pass through that empty space. It only appears solid because that is a useful image (created by your brain) for you to find food and survive.

  • @R18111983 where do the forces come from ? (the fact that there a forces that prohibit any matter or energy to pass through that empty space)..... and were they there before the big bang ?

  • @R18111983 the point is that no matter what explanations you come up with, I can ask a further question which will eventually bring you to 'I don't know' and this is true no matter how brilliant the scientist.

  • @claudelebel55 Sure.. and that proves what?

  • @R18111983 it proves that there is a mystery, something greater than our pip squeak ego that thinks it can figure it all out and be master of the world. There is something greater, the source of all this. Some people call it God but I a not a believer in a separate God. You and I are like waves on the ocean. We come into this world, do our stint, and go back to where we came from, just like the wave. The wave is impermanent, just as this body-mind is but the source (the ocean) is eternal.

  • @claudelebel55 Proof of mystery? Well, that's a tautology, I guess..

Proof of something greater? Not really.. it just might be something very simple.. like vibrating strings of energy..

If string theory turns out to be correct some day we might just know 'everything'.. but who knows if we will ever be able to test it..

  • @R18111983 knowing everything (if that is possible) would be like the drop of water or the wave understanding or explaining the ocean of which it is a part and from which it has never been separate. As for string theory, what about Godel's Incompleteness theorem.

  • @R18111983 the point is that logic is limited OR otherwise put, life and the universe trump logic. Not everything can be explained nor needs to be explained in order to be enjoyed :) love, beauty, truth, awe, the truth of who I am, etc.

  • @claudelebel55 Your opinion that it doesn't need to be explained doesn't change the fact that we might be able to explain it, though.

Either way.. god(s) most probably don't exist and are not part of any explanation.

  • @R18111983 good luck explaining beauty.

  • @claudelebel55 That's probably not even that hard.. one could argue that beauty might be for the eyes what taste is for the palate.. if there is the feeling of something being beautiful you are more likely to investigate it. That could be evolutionary beneficial. Color combinations, shapes, patterns.. that's all our ancestors looked for in nature to survive.

It could be a misfiring of our urge to look for stuff that benefits us..

  • Dawkins fucks em up again!

  • I always lose it about Dawkins face at 3:54 :D

  • None of this will work for an asian crowd...We can try that lol

  • Those who reason for themselves will do so. Those who don't, won't. There's no point in trying to reason with the religiously convinced.

  • Why do most religions urge you to sing or chant together? What is the purpose of reciting words you've never seen, over and over and over until you memorize them?

  • @SkeksisRule Getting people to say things over and over like that will gradually bypass their ability to think and force the message into their brains. Advertisers do this all the time with catchy jingles. It's a way to control thoughts.

  • @TheRichardHinckley It was more rhetorical. But you still hit the nail on the head.

  • 6:10 Weeping for mankind.

  • 01:10 - epic chin. Also, if you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people :D

  • 01:10 Where can I get a neck warmer like that? :O

  • @lakshen47 McDonald's.

  • why are all psychics such dick faces

  • Note how he say's at 06:05 and looks to the side, sign of lies.

  • richard's face when he talks to the spirit-reading dude is like "really..?"

  • 1:09 LOOK AT THE NECK ON THAT THING

  • What a crook. People should be protected by laws from this sort of things. Too many are unfit to watch for themselves.

  • from 2:00 on I was very shocked... how can someone genuinely ask, if someone knows Charles Darwin... I don't know if he does'nt really know him... how stupid can a person be???

  • "If you have enough naivete and you've got conviction then the answer is perfect for you." — Greg Graffin, PhD, lead singer of Bad Religion

  • I'm sick of pseudoscientific ideologies try to legitimize themselves by giving themselves names that sound like scientific fields, like how Astrology sounds like Astronomy, Seance sounds like Science!

  • @theocean1973 Or how Scientology and the Christian Scientists completely abuse the name of Science? Yeah, that's really irritating. Astrology, though, used to be considered a sort of science, back when things like Alchemy were taken seriously too (actually Alchemy became Chemistry over time). Astrology's name long pre-dates the rise of scientific materialism, but it is annoying that its propagators can still profit from such a false association with Science.

  • What is so wrong with saying, "I don't know?" All these religious people do is try to fill that void with ridiculous ideas of a God.

  • @CRISNCHIPS12398

    It's arrogance parading as humbleness.

  • @VayMasters Bill Maher for the win!

  • @CRISNCHIPS12398 There is nothing wrong with saying that. Religious people are ignorant however I do believe in a God and and I have a relationship with Jesus. I know it gets annoying when they try to fill voids with something you're not comfortable with. There are times when I doubt. I'm not trying to force anything on you so don't take this the wrong way. The point of me commenting is to tell you it's ok to question. I'm also sorry for all those you try to help and dont realize they arent.

  • @CRISNCHIPS12398

The unknown scares many people unfortunately. To me that is part of real "enlightenment", getting comfortable with not knowing things.

  • @CRISNCHIPS12398 Sure, but in embracing the idea of "not knowing", one must also allow for the possibility of scenarios that can't (yet?) be explained. Science must play by these rules, too.

  • @manofawareness that doesn't mean you should just believe nonsense.

  • wow, richard is so hot, can we not agree with it

  • Wow he got it soo right! a fat lady with stomach problems. I would have never guessed! here is a blank check for all your hard work and my stupidity lol

  • its very convenient that the spirits can only answer in vague cryptic clues and can't actually give any knowledge concerning anything some doesn't already know or can't have already guessed

  • @ 6:13 I almost heard King Arthur from Monthy Python saying "You're a looney."

  • "...I see a pulsating sphincter, something like an anus. Oh, yes, I think it's definitely an anus. It is leaking brownish fluid. It's saying Bobby, you forgot to turn the stove off... Oh, no, wait, that's just a farting noise. Anyone here have a dead relative with a large, leaking, pulsating, loud, farting anus?"

  • @libertarianjury HAHAHAHHAAA I laughed so hard I farted out of my large, loud, pulsating anus!

  • crockashitte

  • Some "Slaves to Superstition" use the word "proof" without really knowing what it means

  • Take a baseball bat and send that fucking low life religious asshole to the spirit world

  • this is AWFUL... so painful to watch... most of dawkins videos are... hmm

so sad that we have such a strong need for the supernatural

  • From 1:06 till 1:15 is super double chin fun time!

  • @5tr1fe666

3:55 I love the lookDawkin shoots him

  • @lopytube the look at 6:14 is even better hhahaa like he's the thinking: "Oh my God what is this nonsense?"

  • @lopytube exactly what i thought

  • @5tr1fe666 christ thats a fuckin beaut!

  • @5tr1fe666 aahahahahahahahahaha i just died laughing!!!!!!!!!! xD

  • John Edwards biggest douche in the universe

  • Everyone on Jersey shore a close 2nd haha

  • 4:55 deliciousness alert.

Hey, I've had a message from the spirit world. It says we need to get a little closer, baby.

  • "it could indicate desperate wishful thinking" LOL, this guy is awesome!

  • dawkin's face at 6:13 - 6:15 says it all

  • "you really believe it? seriously, you believe it?"

"it's been proven to me....against my rationality"

*Dawkins makes the 'you're absolutely retarded' face at 6:13 LMAO!

  • priceless

  • yeah he looks like hes going to go upside the guys head

  • 6:25 is even better IMO

  • I guess it's more like 6:22

  • @devourerofbabies CLASSIC DAWKINS ALL OF THEM

  • It is a little shocking that so many people fall for these tricks, even though they can be seen through with as much as a tiny drop of common sense.

  • "Who here has had a hat before? Who here? You? Your Grandmother is coming through."

  • iv had a hat! and i also have a grandmother!

    ITS TRUE!!!

    lol..

  • Man that's CRAZY; my hat has a grandmother! THIS MEANS SOMETHING!!!

  • OH MY GOD, ITS ALIIIIIVVEEE!!!!

  • I'm psychic and I can tell you with 100% certainty that you had a mother and a father! Hah! Try to deny it! :D

  • Not true, I was cloned from my mum. Now if only she had been a virgin when she had me, I could start my own religion :(

  • the world be a lot less interesting & funny without all those nutters!

  • In a way, yes, but I enjoy other things much more than watching ignorant people.

  • At about 3:56 he says "mediumship comes from the irrational side of the brain". Case closed.

  • Hi, I'm a psychic. I'm seeing a room full of people, a huge room the size of a stadium, no, bigger...maybe the size of a city...or a small country. And they all have the same name, beginning with...with the letter G. Is it George...no...no...I'm feeling something more like Gulliver...closer, closer...it's...the name...Gullible....anybody out there with that name?

  • My roflcopter goes LOL LOL LOL.

  • lmao priceless!

  • nice! LOL

  • Agreed, aaron. The older I get, the more I realize how generally stupid people are. How happy these people are to grasp onto the idea of 'God', a concept they feel comfortable with because NO ONE understands it. All of a sudden they are not the only ones in the crowd who don't 'get it'.

  • the only thing in the world that can really piss me off . IRRATIONAL THINKERS. (ie. religious ppl, spiritualists, etc.)

  • I could never really understand how people could believe in Religious superstition of any kind. I remember being a kid at Bible school wondering for hours on end what was wrong with the people that thought it was real. Now I'm grown up and I realize for the most part that people are just stupid, they just buy anything that comes their way.

  • Hallelujah, but, seriously don't demean people for their belief all that will bring about is a closing of the mind. Find a way to show people the fact that even though their parents, neighbors, friends and pastors are unfortunately mistaken by something that seems so clear.

  • I feel so sorry for the girl who's friend died in a car accident. that man totally takes advantage of her vulnerability

  • For the first time in my life, I am now certain that stupidity is the most common element of all.

  • Indeed, theism is indisputable evidence of high energy stupidy particles permeating the universe. They are inevitably attracted in concentration to the black hole like regions centered in the cerebral cortexes of theists. It is an unfortunate product of quantum fluctuations in reality.

  • Stupidity, closely followed by ignorance and deception.

  • I cannot wait until we fully understand the brain and render all this spirit world and after life crap impossible and unreal! Anyone agree?

  • I agree. But I don't think that will be enough. I don't think it matters how much we understand about our brain and where we come from. There will always be people who don't understand any of it. Therefor the better explanation for them would be God. If this weren't true, there would be a lot more Atheists in the world today.

  • You have a good point. The problem is whenever you present indisputable reason and evidence the theist tries to out manouver you with the old 'how do you know that reason and evidence is the only means to obtain truth'. Well it is certainly the only way to objective truth, since we have the evidence that it works and that non-reason and lack of evidence does not. Sadly theists will continue to claims to know truth that is not only non onjective but counter to evidence and reason.

  • @urantivirus i don't think intelligence has as much to do with believing in god as alot of people seem to think, especially in the western world. im not intelligent enough to understand science, yet im still not foolish enough to believe in god. i believe fear of losing conscienceness turns people to god.

  • @urantivirus Lack of knowledge is one thing, but for some people who have lived through years and years of brainwashing it will not mean anything. Some people actually want to invoke the supernatural because if their life sucks they have something external to blame. I can tell you that knowing the brain may not mean much. My supervisor, a very well-published neuropsychologist, was actually a theologian before he got his Ph.D. in neuropsych! And he never let go of his faith.

  • 200, 000 years afterwards we're still waiting for the answer.

  • @VisitingXenoc133

It would be nice, but the only way to eliminate the bullshit is to do just that, eliminate it. Ban all religions and any theist/religious material and actions and/or rituals. Destroy all religious books and to place religious preaching and recruiting as mental (child) abuse.

Then, and only then will be see a sign of true decline in religious belief across the planet. Otherwise, we will just have to wait for people to smarten the fuck up.

  • @CaveStoryChannel Wow, someone's authoritarian!

  • @VisitingXenoc133 If you take a step back and look and the facts it is pretty clear...

  • @VisitingXenoc133 It's impossible to eradicate thoughts of an after-life. It is and always will be a mystery, the problem is that people are afraid of the idea of a mystery and therefore attempt to add meaning.

  • @VisitingXenoc133 you should read about DMT, the "near-death experience" molecule

  • @VisitingXenoc133 I cannot wait until we fully understand the brain and render all this spirit world and after life possible and real!

  • @VisitingXenoc133 maybe..

  • 6:07 Priceless!

  • @VisitingXenoc133 wouldn't it be better if we find that there is an afterlife and paranormal stuf but that we would understand what it really is and not bs like astrology

  • mediums are scum of earth and outlandish jerks

  • There all on religious drigs.

  • Lol @ Oh good point but... WHat a dunce

  • I knew religion was shit when I was 6. It was easy to figure out since I'm not white, so I already didn't believe in a Judeo-Christian god.

  • it's good that you didin't give in to the crap, but since when does being white mean you will believe in, because chritianity is world wide, as in the U.S many blacks, whites, and hispanics practice some form of chritianity.

  • I should give up my Job and just become the Messiah ..... the pay would be much much better

  • lol

  • God bless you tube

  • God bless me
