I just need to say.. I ended up liking the video as much as the song, that I actually had to buy the movie The Love Letter. I want to thank you soooo much for that. It's now one of my favorites. It's breath-taking. So beautiful, so sad. And this song is amazing too, I love the Smashing Pumpkins.
This song is sung by James Iha and Nina Gordon. It occurs on one of the B-sides in the boxed set "The Aeroplane flies high" By the Smashing pumpkins. Nina Gordon is previously of Veruca Salt fame. D'arcy does not appear in this song.
I think that when James & D'arcy decided not to come back, they took a noticeable element from the Pumpkins' music. It seems as though some of the emotion or the sentiment is gone. "Zeitgeist" was a good album, but, in my opinion, not as good as their previous work. "American Gothic" wasn't bad either, but it just seems as though the band doesn't sound like their old selves. Oh well.
I agree with you on that one. Billy needs Jimmy. Without him, there would absolutely be no point in calling the resurrected project, "The Smashing Pumpkins".
Great story behind this one--this song was on a mixtape that I borrowed from someone a few years ago. I'd always hear this song and love it, but I'd never know who the artist was--finally, a few months ago, I just tried to google the lyrics and it popped right up. That mixtape was full of lesser known songs. Anyway, this song is great!
I'm so mad that Billy ALWAYS felt James Iha's songs didn't "quite fit" the cut for Siamese Dream and MCIS, but obviously this one could only fit on something like AeroplanesFlighHigh. But nonetheless his voice is a much more "adorable" feeling when compared to Billy's ;)
aww, I didn't know they had a video for this. James and Nina are cute like kittens. Thats all i can say! Love the both of you for your music and light. Sad, good music ended with the 90's... now its all angry brats screaming about getting their feelings hurt.
This is was the song my ex-wife and I called ours. We danced to it at our wedding. For the longest time I couldn't stand listening to it. Now it brings back melancholy memories. I got 2 great kids out of it, and we're good friends now. Sometimes life just works out that way.
@magog1138 I think I know exactly how you feel, I'm heading in the same direction, 2 great kids also. Love this song. Life is definetely un-predictable. I will always be one of my favorite song.
This is such a sweet song, i love it. Me and one of my best friends did a cover of this song. Haven't seen this movie that everyone is talking about though, someone should feel me in.
This is more like it. I like this one a lot. The girl's expression and the emotion on her face go well with the song. Can that animation crap...it just doesn't work.
i dont like his music, i loved his part in the smashing pumpkins, this is pretty lame to me, he plays a bad ass guitar when he wants to, i hope he is in the sp new album "zeitgist" , i think d'arcy is already replaced
funny out of all there songs, this is my favorite one. =]
