If you want to save money in your residence you would be better off turning lights and a/c off when not needed - get occupancy sensors - buy compact fluorescents - and junk that 15 year old fridge and get a more efficient one. These devices are a scam. His technical arguments are bogus - talk to any degreed electrical engineer and they will confirm it's snake oil. Residences do not get billed for power factor. Cleaning up spikes is Ok but has nothing to do with saving energy. Shame on you.
