  • Very good job making this video i like it. Hopfuly one day i can go visit billy the kid

  • what happend to part 1 real cool video by the way i have watched it several times lol

  • @cfhcowboy I didn't realize that it wasn't here, so Thats a good question.I'll see if I can solve the mystery. sorry bout that, and thank you for you kind comment.and repeated views.

  • @1880TimeTraveler thats ok i still like to watch it i love the ol west stuff but i would really like to see part 1 if you could let me know when part 1 is back up ill watch that a bunch to lol take care mr

  • i am from nm and lived in roswell for a while. i also lived just a few miles from white oaks for a little while way out in the country. Lincoln is a place i have always loved to visit and a stop there and a little walking tour and a picnic are always on the agenda when we go that way. thanks for sharing it. i enjoy all your videos. the elvis tours you do are really cool and informative too!

  • @pnk878251 Thank you, And yes if you lived a few miles outside of White oaks you were definatly out in the country. have a great day!

  • Haha "that's my finger" haha

  • I've been to all those sites there cool

  • Thanks, when was this? I just put up a video but it wasn't made for people to watch, we didn't know much about Billy until we read all the books we bought, but it's fun making videos. We went to all those places, but it was winter and no one could say much. I wonder where the jail was that was under the street? We went to White Oaks as well.

  • @JettRink50 I think I made this video about 2 yrs ago. we go to Lincoln almost every yr, as for where the jail was during the Lincoln County War, it was located across the road from the patron house. on the East end of town. It was basically a hole in the ground with a Top door, now there is a small private house on the lot. Although I have been told the actual hole still exist. I'm not sure if it is accessible from outside or under the house.

  • i hope the wild fire in arizona doesnt take tombstone with it

  • i wonder if billy the kid ever visited tombstone

  • @cfhcowboy that is an Intriguing question, but no definitive answer for it, Tombstone was certainly within roaming range of Billy, Tombstone did furnish a lucrative market for cattle of questionable origin's. and a well organized syndicate to fence them. So its definitely a possibility. but at this time there are no evidence discovery's ( i,e, hotel registries, livery bills. bills of sale.) but that does not prove he did not come in "under the radar" unfortunately speculation is not proof .

  • have you ever been to tombstone ? ive watched a couple videos on that as well very cool place

  • @cfhcowboy Yes I have been to Tombstone several times, and enjoy it each time, although it is very commercialized, but the area around Tombstone has many historical points of interest, I have an uploaded video on my channel called the Bloodiest cabin in Arizona, That location is just a few miles outside Tombstone, And I believe I have a Birdcage Theater video posted also, If I haven't posted it I will do so, The entire history of Tombstone are of great interest to me, And of course the Earp yrs

  • was pat gerret really friends with billy like in the movie young guns ? or was that just for the movie

  • @cfhcowboy There is no Evidence that Garrett and The Kid were "friends" at any time, There was a time when in 1878 a group of Buffalo hunters joind the kid and his cohorts at a " Branding Camp" At about the same time as when Garrett came into the area from Buffalo hunting, so there is some speculation that Garrett "could" have been with the group of buffalo hunters, but no testimony by wittnesses to the fact, Also it is very possible that the 2 might have sat at the same card table sometime

  • @cfhcowboy continued : There is little doubt that they did know each other, and up to the time Garrett became Sheriff of Lincoln Co There was no animosity between them, In summery: There is no evidence whatsoever that they were " Friends". Thanks for watching the video and the very pertinent question

  • this is a really cool vid ive watched it several times i cant get enough of it lol i want to find out the truth if billy really died at fort sumner

  • @cfhcowboy There is absolutely no Doubt that Billy died in ft summner, An interesting point the conspiracy theorist do not grasp, is the story That Billy wasn't killed at ft summner was not born until many yrs after the fact, The people that WANT to believe he lived on, will believe that, unless they take a on serious research by reading well researched books, read Eye witness testimony by those that were there, The evidence is overwhelming, The real story is better than fiction.

  • i belive brushy bill roberts

  • @mynirvgun41 You mean Oliver Roberts? LOL I'm assuming your kidding. Thanks ,

  • @1880TimeTraveler no i aint kidin

  • @mynirvgun41 in regard to Roberts, There are plenty of sources here on the internet that will give you the facts on Brushey bill, simply google the Truth about Brushy bill, or Billy vs Brushy. From his neice exposing him, to the fact Roberts can be traced in the US census and family rcords from birth (1879) to death, including wives, an prior to claiming to being billy, he claimed to be a member of the james Gang, those are just a couple of the facts, There are many others that debunk Roberts.

  • @mynirvgun41 It is not my intention to contentious or argumentative. I appreciate the dialog.

  • Don't think garret killed Billy. Pat garrets daughter even admitted saying her dad didn't shoot Billy the kid. I think he died of old age somewhere in Mexico not New Mexico. There's never been a death certificate showed of Billy the kid. I guess we really will never know the truth. Awesome video though. I love that you showed the old courthouse where Billy was held at.

  • @horror408 I must disagree. the evidence is overwhelming That Billy died on July 14th 1881. at the hand of Pat Garret. The coroners jury convened by Justice of the peace Alejandro Seguro the following morning (as the body still lay on the floor of Maxwell's bedroom) documented and confirmed the fact, signed by 6 jurors, That in itself holds more weight than a certificate signed by one individual. (which could just be lost) There are many well researched books that you would enjoy I'm sure

  • Absolutely excellent guys.. Keep up the good work.

  • @1955Bradpitt I don't know why someone flagged your kind comment as spam, but I "unspamed" it. Thank you for watching and your kind comment.

  • Absolutely excellent guys. I love history and I am so appreciative of those who bring it to us. This is absolutely fantastic. Keep up the good work.

  • @GaussTruth Thanks, I appreciate your kind comment,, We really enjoy researching and visiting historical locations, Have a great week,

  • Has anyone been to where Pete Maxwell's house was located; where Billy was killed....just wondering if that general area is accessible or what is there now. thanks.

  • @songanddancegrl Yes the location of Pete Maxwell's house is about a thousand yards from Billy's grave in Ft Sumner, It is on the property of the Bosque Redondo Memorial. There is nothing left of the house, but there is a concrete marker indicating the spot of Billy's death. Thanks for watching my amateur attempt at narrating, Have a great day

  • cool :)

  • @ 1800 TimeTraveler

I bet you run into alot of awesome people in your travels as well . Have you run across any old Indian villages?

  • I love old wesy history. It is so addictive.

    great footage

  • @PennsylvaniaCharli , I agree,, Thanks for the view AND the friend invite!

  • can u show some stuff about jose y chavez chavez mr time traverler people seem2 4get about him.

  • I agree there are several very interesting people that have been overlooked in the Lincoln co war,, and yes i think i will make a vid about Chavez, He was the epitimy of an ol west bad guy, Thanks SCOOBYBLD

  • hl,

  • propped his hat and gun in window to make it look like he would be shooting at anyone who came down the street. Billy stole a racehorse to make his escape promising to return the horse. Sure enough he was true to his word and sent the horse back later with a note tied to the saddle. Those who knew billy say he was one of the finest men you ever knew and was polite, courtreous and kind to all. he was very much loved. Garrett came close to getting lynched when he killed billy.

  • most accouts state billy demanded a file and was on the porch sawing the shackles off - or at least the chain so unless the chain is filed through - those are not the real shackles. billy did have the shackles on whne he left but being he was riding a horse I assume he filed throught he chain inbetween. Billy was on the porch for 1 hour ranting and raving and discouraging any would be peeps who might try to stop him. at one point he propped his hat and gun in window to make it look liek he

  • some accounts of the killing of Ollinger state that billy only fired one barrel out the window, then ran to the front porch, took purposeful aim, and fired the second shot into ollinger's body from the porch. I cite Otero's Real Life of Billy the Kid

  • if you have a tripod - find the center balecne point with the camera on it and the legs partly extended out. hold the tripod at that center balence point and you will be able to walk with the camera and have NO JERKINESS to it. good stuff but you will have UNBOUNCY vids if you follow those instructions. that is called the flying tripod balence trick!

  • just got back from ruidosa and was disappointed that I missed out on seeing old lincoln, so thanks for the tour! ever been around albany, tx and visited fort griffin state park? Thats where the mackenzie trail leading all the way across to ft. sumner began and where wyatt earp and doc holliday first met when earp was hunting for dave rudabaugh. i was born and raised just a few miles down the road from there and was always amazed at how these guys lives all crossed the way they did.

  • what is tha population there??

  • Im going to guess, i would say not more than a few hundred,,its just alittle town, thanks for watching

  • Yep you were just down the road when you were in Ruidosa,, its well worth the short drive,, and im also very interested in Wyatt earp ,, Thanks for the comment, sorry it took so long to respond,,

  • @hempnut

It is Ruidoso... not Ruidosa... My home town.

  • @Jezake yep I sure enough wrote it with an "a" didnt I,, lol It surprised me too ,, I visit a couple times a yr and will be back on the 20th of this month for the wild west history asso, meeting,,,, sorry And thanks for pointing that out

  • Hey no Prob. I've been a huge history buff especially on the old west. I,ve always wanted to do what you're doing. I'll get on the road one of these days. For now, I'll just enjoy your footage of these western historical landmarks. I didn't know Blazer's Mill was still standing. Whats yr opinion on the story of Boney living in Mexico till an old age?

  • Yes there is one building left and comparing old photos to the location of the remaining building really has me intrigued, as for billy dieing of old age,, no truth to that,, just read the eye wittness affidavitts from those that knew him in life and helped clean his body an bury him,, these affidavitts are sworn to by upwards of 20 people that were there,Billy did die in maxwells bedroom,, u might like to check out the billy the kid descussion boards,

  • A real good descussion board is called "Texas by God the twin territorys" the majority of the people that post comments on that board are well known historians,, and published authors it is a place that you may learn a wealth of well researched history facts,, you will be made to feel welcome and sharing the passion is their pleasure,, from that board there are links to many other sites,

  • I like the way u filmed as u told the story as it happend and where it happend. Thanks!

  • Thanks , as always while veiwing an editing my clips i realize i should have done this or that different,,,,hindsite is 20/20,, lol thanks again

  • keep up the good work

  • another 5!!!! watching them backward lol.

  • Great local history lesson, thank you for making this video and posting, it is much appreciated.
