@1996figureskater I don't think they should be closed. They do a better job honouring those who have served and given their lives by remembering them in an assembly or by bringing kids to the service than just letting them off for the day. I was off and non of my friends did anything. I always watched the CBC - this was during the 60's and 70's. I think it works better this way.
My great grandfather was at D-day, he use to tell me stories about what is was like back then, even though he lived until he was 92 I think of him as a hero of war! and to all of you all around the world who have lost a family member to any war I am deeply sorry!
I had a Grandfather who died in The World War. I am in the Canadian ARMED Forces also my bro and cousins. I was taking a moment of silence until the Flanders Field poem made me cry. Glad my ancestors were serving correctly.
To all the soldiers in the army who fought for our country to have freedom, we thank you today and you will always be in our hearts. May you have a pleasant rest in your grave and hope that you are looking over the following soldiers who is in Afghanistan today and who is fighting for their country. We thank you once again. and by thanking you we have a moment of silence. Thank you once again!
Are schools closed for Remembrance Day yet?
