Going forward with Madden and/or 2K Football

Realistically speaking though a boycott is not gonna happen, they know and they take advantage of holding the NFL liscense, that damn thing is a hostage now. Little by little they'll take a few steps foward but purposely take a few back since they've monopolized NFL football to keep us coming back, that's the reality. Competition is the only way to get a legitimate football game, but hopefully 2k gets an oppurtunity to attain the liscense again, i wouldn't mind if they bought it out completely

2k can only really come back if they get the NFL liscense, reason being that we want NFL, not All Pro legends, not made up teams. The only plausible way to get a legitimate football game is by A. 2k getting the liscense or B. Boycotting Madden and I mean everybody, from the guys who play online just for the hell of it to the guys who only play Franchise like me, at the very least all the hardcore guys who watch these vids and voice their criticisms and that'll account for at least 48% of us

Yesterday psn added madden 12 to the store, I woke up with an idea. Look and see how much space would madden take up on my HD if I choose to buy it well, I looked and it is only 4.96 GB. What does this have to do with anything? Well the standard 360 disc holds 7 GB and the blu ray holds much more at about 27. Point being EA cannot say that disc constraints because if the 360 disc becomes double layered it can jump double! There is no physical reason besides mental apethy to warrant such blatant

Gameplay aside. This game also lacks replayablitiy. Not talking about online. Franchise and Superstar mode have been completely forgotten. NBA 2k11/2k12 I could play those games for years, because the look and feel was great. My Player is better than any mode madden has come up thus far. Association makes franchise mode in madden look like 2001 n64 reject game.

Honestly though, in order for things to change we need competition....and no one wants to compete. So we get games like NCAA 12 and Madden 12 that probably should have been at that point 4 years ago instead of being innovative. EA and 2k do not care what you want. It's a proven fact with EA. Instead of wasting time talking about improvements we want to see, you need to be campaigning to get Madden off the shelves completely like Live/Elite. Otherwise, why would they improve. Good Vid Sim, This play deplays the great blocking the CPU gave you. These are the plays that will open up the 15-20 yard runs later in the game. Also Nice read on your block, Its not always just the offense line, you need a good back who can his read holes as well!

Off subject a bit but I firmly believe EA's 2013 basketball title is going to be impressive. I think the colossal failure that was NBA Elite has humbled the EA basketball devs and much like we've seen with NHL and Fifa, EA can make some nice sports titles when motivated.

Can ANYONE explain , WHY the Narrator is "inviting" 2K to "come back" . It's been FIVE YEARS since APF was released . Do you think that if they were serious they would have released a new game already ???

What does FULL customization mean ? Does this idea ONLY extend to 32 a Team league and 53 man rosters ?

Or will it include playbooks and playcalling . Yes BB tried it but it's LIMITED playbook ,playcalling options and BOOTLEG tech support hampered the game .

@ND7652 Pretty much. BB was pretty much a failure all the way across the board. If 2K thought a APF series was viable, there would be a APF2K12 and we'd be playing it.

They've obviously decided that there isnt enough of a market for the game. APF2K8 was apparently pretty pricey for them to do when you factor in how poorly the game sold vs cost.. I thought the idea was really good. Putting together teams with those All-Pros and Hall of Famers is a fun thing.

In regards it should be noted the "agreement" applies to third party software . NOT CONSOLE makers. So Microsoft, Sony,and Nintendo could have made a NFL licensed game AT ANY TIME . So do you find it odd that ALL THREE of these companies have been approached for NFL deals. And ALLEN co-chair of Microsoft OWNS the SEAHAWKS NOW .

They had their own website and forum to promote the game all they had to do was BUILD a league and online network . Hell they could have used BB as the test build and told the public that the product would be improved via DLC who wouldn't have bought it you do it for COD and other shooters. @2KxFootball Disagree. I only played 2k5 for about a month or so back when it came out, so the majority of my 2k experience is with APF...that game has significant holes..many more then what is out in the games now. They've been document plenty of times, so there is no need to re-hash them again.

It's certainly a "good" game, I still put it in and knock around with Warren Moon, Ronnie Lott etc, but feel it is pretty clear that it has been surpassed for quite some time, now.

The only hope is for 2K to come back and not make the same dumb mistakes they made last time with APF. I'd personally prefer they made a new game based off of 2K5's core engine, with updated AI, graphics, models, and a full Backbreaker-style editor with no limits. That's what they shoud've done in the first place and I think we all expected that, but instead they gave us a highly restricted game in APF.

I'm fairly certain 2K football won't be back this generation. Maybe next, but just maybe.

one thing i really like about 2k games are the real time in game cut sceens which are not cut sceens if you may. its real time if you dont skip them. ea sport games never and i mean has never had any good looking cut sceens or real time cut sceens. look at this game DAM, still looks dam GOOD. REAL Depth Perception in OLD Ass 2k5 which madden12 does not have nor does MLB11 the show, but old ass 2k5 has it in real time to WoW.

Madden 06 and 07 for 360 had good cut scenes. The problem was that they lacked variety. The long-standing problem with Madden has been that they either do too little or too much of something. They have no concept of balance. Madden is a lost cause. I've gone back to playing All Pro Football. I continue to be frustrated by all the editing restrictions 2K put on the game, but it's still one of the best playing modern football games of all time, 2K5 being the other.

There will never be another 2K game of substance. I doubt Backbreaker will try again. There simply isn't enough incentive(money) for any dev to risk the expense. Madden has improved, but I still say 2K8 is more fun.

It's not about EA dog. Different teams make games it's about Triburon, EA Canada, 2k or 2k-Check, Infiinti Ward, Treyarch, Dice. Comparing shooter games to sports games is not a good comparison anyway. Stop with the EA optimism. The companies I mention make the games EA is just a name or a distributor. And it's not as easy as having an EA Canada making a football games it could work but they would be starting from scratch and that team would be busy with their hockey game.

2K had the superior game engine, EA just didnt feel the need to change anything one they obtained the license. its was a business decision, they know we will all buy it with minor cosmetic changes, i never thought they would take this many years off, but its obvious they have.

Let's be real, EA has ruined football video games on current gen systems. I rent Madden every year it's released and I just can't like it. I've been playing 2k5 for the past couple years and it's superior in games modes,presentation and gameplay.

Not the perfect game but, the best football game. Honestly I wish any company could make a football game. I wouldn't mind if Sony or Microsoft made an NFL game.

For now, I rather play 2k and Blitz.. the league 2.

Madden needs some innovation. I'm sick doing the same things that I did in Madden years ago. The passing system needs an overhaul. At this point, we should be able to throw the ball anywhere we want ( within the quarterback's arm strength) on the field.
