  • Its all about technic, if you think about it most of the power they use comes from their legs. Look at their body proportion and composition, their quads are really massive compare to their upper body. Most top heavy dudes you see at the gym can't lift 200 lbs over their head let alone 400+.

  • RAW! This guy is sick!

  • Boevski and Markov disqualified with LIFE ban + Boevski arrested for trafficking 9 kgs of cocaine from Brazil to Europe ... unbelievable as well...

  • 2:40 holy shit.

  • it baffles me to read some comments with their pride in oly style lifting and bashing every pissy little thing their mind can come up with

  • fucking steroid fucks, to think they were my heroes

  • @spartan1081990 they on roids?

  • @spartan1081990 You think any of the top lifters are steroid or genetic modification free?

  • @maxiflo no wonder I cant lift for shit

  • I like how the dipshit commentator has the nerve to act like he knows better than Zhang Gouzheng and his coaches when it comes to lifting 400 lbs over head.

  • @t3rr1bl333 They don't just let anyone comment.

  • just amazing

  • Fucking amazing.

  • can someone please answer my question? why dont they jump whe they re doing the clean?

  • @magicapricot I think it's, because of how heavy the weight is or maybe for more balance? Just a guess

  • @magicapricot Because explosion isn't all about jumping, plus once you get up beyond 250lbs (where all of these guys are) an actual jump isn't clearly visible. You can hear their feet hit the platform however, indicating they do get off the ground for a short period.

  • @magicapricot They try but when you do really heavy weight its hard to jump. If you can jump with it then its obviously not your max.

  • Interesting facts:

Both Galabin Boevski and Georgi Markov have been tested positive and suspended for steroid use. Boevski has recently been arrested in Brazil for attempting to transport 9kg of cocaine to Europe.

  • how does he keep mispronouncing zhang guozheng's name?

  • am like 5'9 how much should i weight and what body parts should i be training to do this

  • @messycumshot 5'9''ers are usually either in the 85kg/187lbs or the 94kg/207lbs category. To build a solid base of strength should do a lot of pulls (deadlifts with a shrug at the top), squats, push presses, and of course snatches and clean and jerks. To get the most out of it you should join a weightlifting gym or at least get a coach who knows what he's doing.

  • @messycumshot nice screenname lol

  • who teach this technique. no wonder why he has back issues

  • САМО БЪЛГАРИЯ!!

  • that made me sweat just watching it!!! geeze-us!

  • Lol, vengaboys in intermission

  • im 15, 6ft, and i done 65kg, personal best so far!

  • @MrNicolaouB ouch...

  • @MrNicolaouB Maladiec(great in english) as the Russians say :)

  • does anyone know what the name of the shoes zhang wear is?

  • 3:48 geekgasm

  • i can't even look at the chinese lifter with that form he is using. it may work for him, but damn that does not look safe

  • wtf!! amazing so damn strong

  • BEAST

  • I am Bulgarian and that really makes me proud, what an amazing feat of strength and athleticism! I am happy for Boevski's success, not only on sports level but business as well as he's currently holding a chain of luxurious gyms in Bulgaria.

Btw I consider myself to be in very good shape and fitness level is above average and yet at 6ft1 and 85kg I doubt my max at clean and jerk would be more than say 130kg (havent done maxes but am doing sets with ~80kg).

  • at 5'5 which weight class would be the best?

  • @santiago08121 that be beter for you 52 kilos or 59 kilos

  • How can we human get this strong?! I can only dream about deadlifting 196.5kg one day. And here they toss it around :P Not to mention I weight more.

  • @TheHyroi is bcuz that train that we get is about working with % in all you moves and do cycles and mesocycles of training 1 is power 2 strengh 3 flexibility 4 condition is no that hard but you need to have a good coach that know what they do

  • lol I cant even deadlift that

  • a mind blowing way for one hundred and fifty- EYU EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    nice solid clean!

  • every one of those lifts is fucking insane i can't barely back squat 405

  • every one of those lifts is fucking insane

  • seriously how do these guys get so strong without eating every calorie insight. I'm not including steriods, there're are plenty of people taking steriods who can never hope to lift like that. It's my experience that to get seriously strong, you need serious muscle, which requires serious calories resulting in body fat.

  • @deanblaze2000 they eat a lot of calories when putting on muscle which adds muscle and fat, then they go on a calorie defecit which loses the fat but not the muscle.

  • @riopieboy so they loose the fat to meet their weight class, keeping as much strength as possible?

  • @deanblaze2000 Exactly.

There's basically all the info you could want on this page liamrosen(dot)com/fitness(dot)html

  • @deanblaze2000 You don't need t get fat to gain muscle.. And if your gaining fat, your eating too much anyways

  • @ummtone I disagree, "significant" drug free muscle gains require a diet of excess calories above maintenance, that's an established fact. This is going to cause some fat gain, not necessarily huge amounts but there will be some. Fat gains can be controlled through what and when you eat, cardio, etc. "newbie strength" gains can be made on a maintenance diet , without any fat gains, as this invovles the adaptation of your CNS, however without muscle gains this wont last long.

  • @ummtone also bear in mind that this is not the same as changing your bodys composition.

  • Just goes to show, you dont need huge amounts of body fat to move huge weights. These guys are awesome....all muscle , no fat, pure power

  • didnt think belts were allowed in the olympics

  • the third pull is suppose to have more effect on the lfter than on the, its used not to pull the bar up but rather to pull the lifter under?

  • Shia labeuf does weightlifting now?

  • What's the heel height of the first lifter's shoes?

  • if anyone doesn't like "juicers" or is disappointed with positive tests or tampering with tests you should probably pick a different sport to watch. just shut the fuck up, accept that it's part of all elite sports, and respect the strength and athleticism of these guys regardless of whether or not they're on anything. most men could be on juice for a hundred years and not lift close to what these guys can.

  • if these guys told me they clean n jerked 400 + pounds i would laugh in their face i am in shock

  • hahahaha 3:56 Commentator: "he just stuffed that jerk!"

  • im a 15 year old. im 5'5 i weight 132. and i clean and jerk about.. 25k on each side. so about 50k. is this alright at my size? or should i be able to do more?

  • @chaseaa64 alot more. don't worry though, it'll come with training.

for a reference, the world records at the 137lb weight class are 337lb snatch and 401lb clean and jerk.

  • @mmamilano see, this is my first year weight training for my football team, and i was voted best form. so. whatever, thanks for the tips tho

  • Amazing weight class to watch!

  • dang, those people are jerkin it so hard

  • Incredible.

  • i want to be stronger!

  • God that guy in the red moves lightning fast!

  • Jeez, why would anyone jerk like Zhang? My lower back hurts just watching it.

  • @rolfeder flexible shoulders. Incredible.

  • tova e nashteto momche

  • lol at 4:25 that guy sounds like pop-eye

  • Check out the clip of Angel Guencev, Bulgaria, in the '88 Olympics doing 202.5 @ 67.5kgs. He tested positive too, but still, that was unbelievable.

  • Powerlifters take note......no belt, no knee wraps, no wrist wraps, just a singlet and a pair of shoes.

  • Galabin Boevski was so strong that was disqualified for loooooooooooooong time for tampering with his test :S

  • god damn look at the legs on zhain

  • Hardcore man.

  • how the fuck does that asian squat like that, insane

  • @batboyjhg Zhang Guozheng? Well, the Chinese are known to train weightlifters from a very young age, so that they don't lose the "youth"-flexibility when they grow up

  • @Sarge343 also, the very-high heel weightlifting shoes he wears help a bit.

  • @Sarge343

    There's actually a few reasons.

-The average chinese individual has a closer torso to leg length ratio. This allows their torso to be in a more vertical position under the jerk. A person with longer legs would have to lean forward to the point where even great shoulder flexibility will still not allow them to stay in balance with the bar being over the middle of the foot

-Chinese lifters typically employ flexibility drills that are found in the martial art of Wu Shu.

  • @batboyjhg Pyrros Dimas does it like that. It's a little less stable but it's easier to get lower and power it up.

  • @batboyjhg They are genetically modified !!

  • These guys are insane.

I gotta get off Youtube and go to the gym

  • this guy looks like a retarded Rambo

  • @WanderleiSilva29

He could probably beat you retarded...

  • Juiiicers!!! Both bulgarians are banned!

  • @rasbillal i'm not surprised. I'm pretty sure they all cycled it, the bulgarians being the dummies didn't do the cycle well and got busted.

  • shame boevski went positive twice and was banned for 8 years, no respect for juicers

  • gotta love the scream it send shrills up and down my spine.

  • i like tht they kno how to abort a bad lift

  • im 69k and i look like a stick compared to these guys

  • Man those guys are my size, it's inspirational how much weight they are lifting.

  • 152 pounder just clean and jerked my squat max. And I weight 215 lbs. This dude is sick.

  • @Butteroux makes me wonder how much these guys can squat haha

  • @ATERIFA well Boevski squats 250kg for reps!

  • great vid cheers sarge

  • The announcer saying that the squat jerk is inefficient needs to stfu

  • bl georgi markov for getting tested positive jst b4 2008 olympics LOL

  • @18MeijiEra78 well i mean both of them hahaa

  • My deadlift max is 400lbs lol. and I weigh 200lbs myself. Watching this is seriously depressing.

  • @atlgville75 me too :(

  • Galabin's a savage. I'd love to go to Bulgaria for a few months and just train the way they do -- several times a day, every day. Everybody told them they needed more recovery, that the constant training didn't make scientific sense.

Absolute beasts, all of them. Just amazing.

  • damn, I am personally getting close to a 400lb clean and jerk in the same weight class, this is extremely encouraging to me.

  • These guys are monsters, most people would be doing good to do half of that

  • Amazing and inspiring !. Thanks for posting !

  • im 5'10 how much should i weight in order to be lifting alot of weight?

  • @allah12311 on professional level, you would fit as a 94kg (207lbs) lifter at 5'10''

  • @Sarge343 i hope i get there 1 day

  • @Sarge343 wrong, 5'10-5'11 = 105 lifter , any taller super nuff said

  • @Sarge343 you should be weighing 6' 3"

  • @allah12311 muslims suck bitch

  • @allah12311 85 kg maybe.

  • @allah12311 95kg?? that's crazy, Galabin Boevski is 5'9 and we just saw a video of him at 69kg. 94kg is what a 5'9 bodybuilder weighs. At 5'10 you could definitely be competitive at 77 kg.

  • Im sure tight jeans look kinda funny on these guys because of their thighs

  • man if i could do shit like THAT i would be the most happiest person in the world

  • 7:55 boevski WR C&J

  • pity markov failed a test since, and boevski was caught on a tampering with a sample violation.

  • Holy crap! That last lift was nothing short of amazing. Just under 3 times his own body weight.

  • I find it amusing that on youtube, every video that shows an outstanding athletic feat is often met with comments accusing the athletes of doping and steroid use. You never hear anyone say, "Wow, that guy must have really busted his ass." Do people not realize the brutal 2 a day training sessions these guys go through? They get painful muscle massages and electrostim. And they also rest adequately. All these guys do is train, eat, and rest. This is dedication at its finest.

  • @zodawg0079 i find it ridiculous, most people cant comprehend hard work lifting weights or otherwise

  • zhangs leg strength is out of this world!

  • No crap. He's overhead squatting 400lbs. crazy.

  • steroids anyone? of course olympic games, any game at this time know steroids is the next step to keep the game entertaining ..without a doubt

  • @84jenriquez If you knew the level of work and determination these athletes do and are at, you would NEVER accuse an athlete at their size/strength of steroid use again.

  • well actually i guess he has muscle where it counts. 9:59

  • boevskis proportions are whats amazing. hes doing this is the 150's at 5'9. Hes looks like a slim guy in good shape not bulked up or especially barrel shaped. even though he was juicing(like everyone so not unfair) unbelievable is no exaggeration.

  • Insane shit.

  • at 5:05 i thought he was gonna sneeze :D

  • that asian guy.. wearing dress shoes. classy.

  • this is absolutely amazing!

  • i'm 10 kg heavier than him, and i can't lift up more than 70 kg. how does he do it?

  • Ur telling me m8, I'm just watching this shit in awe. These guys are taking triple their body weight and throwing it over their heads in a few seconds. Fantastic!

  • @thedarkwatcher this is 3 times over their body weight

  • Practice does it, and age.

  • @566677733266 years of training

  • Buddy... he's not shoulderpressing the damn thing... he's jerking it. It's quite different. If you had proper jerk technique, with your weight you'd be able to do at least 200lbs lol...

  • Let me see you lift the way Markov lifts...Dumbass shit!!!

  • fuck him ;)

  • how easy Boevski did new WR ... amazing..

  • damn they are powerful

  • y duz this vid look leik it from da 70's

  • thats what i thought.

  • because you are a moron.

  • he says the squat jerk is unefficient. mayb so...but wen its perfect lock out and balance on the bottom of the squat jerk. its nailed.

  • He means there is less room for error front to back versus a split jerk and he is right, if the bar is drifting front or back you have a higher chance of missing it in a squat jerk because of the increased demand on shoulder flexibility.

  • Its because hes asian.

  • Boevski's jerk was solid everytime

  • weeeehoo: no, that's not right, everyone's got their own style and it's obvious he couldn't do better either with the "raw" jerk or the more usual one.. boevski is a good example of a perfect lifter: it's the strength and the power in the muscle, not the size! i think i've seen better cleans only watching greek and russian lifters like perepetchenov or dimas.

  • yea agreed in this sport so much technique. but in combat and physical martial arts Size is the best thing. you can be weaker than somone by a bit but if you weigh more than them then gravity/physics takes hold. you have to know how to use your size ofcourse tho.

  • @TAKEMARU666 speed and technique is way more important in martial arts than size.

  • bolenstki looked like he did it the best

  • lol u look stupid now. zhangs the world record holder for the clean and jerk-with 197.5kg squat jerk motherfucker

  • Can someone tell me why these guys are wearing shoes with heels on them? I always thought that a flat shoe was best for lifting

  • A higher heel gives better stability for deep squatting, so the receiving position becomes more "confortable" to get in.

  • but to high of a heel puts alot of pressure on ur patella tendon and thats not good it could cause alot of damage. your heel height should feel comfortbable to you. if it feels to high then it is too high. hope this helps you

  • @acies92 : : The elevated heel gives false ankle mobility, at the lowest point in the clean (the front squat bit) the knees are at full flexion and the hips shift as far forward as possible, this causes the heel to have a tendancy to lift off the ground. The shoes prevent this because the hell is higher anyway

  • @acies92 its so if they have diarrea, the majority of their feet will be elevated if they squirt some out during the clean portion of the lift. If they had flat shoes, once they cleaned the weight, then squirt out some doodles, their feet would step directly in it during the jerk.

  • que increible batalla muy buena competencia

  • thanks for posting! great battle! boevski´s jerks are unbelievable!

  • They seem so effortless! Kinda strange considering his long arms. He's also way too tall to be a 69kg, since he's actually 175cm/5'9''!

  • yeah, thats true. would be interesting to know what he lifted in training.

  • @onepounch

Checkout 'Unbelievable Bulgarians' youtube video for a good insight as to how the elite Bulgarians trained in that era. They are all amazing but, Boevski's raw back squat at 2:03 is simply astonishing for a 69kg athlete !

  • What should a lifter weigh if he is 5ft 7 or 5ft 8 inches to be most powerful? Although my lifting abilities can't be spoken in the saME BREATH AS THESE MEN. DO i NEED TO WEIGH MORE IF I'M AROUND THIS HEIGHT IN 77KG CAT?

  • 5'7'' should be somewhere between 77kg and 85kg, but at 5'8'' you should definitely be 85kg. Although, I'm 6' and I only weigh around 85 myself, even though I should have been a 105+, so don't get too upset about getting heavier

  • Yes thanks for replying! I suppose bone siz must also play a part in the size of a lifters frame to carry the extra muscle! I supposes that's why some body builders virtually disable themselves with their desire to be muscle bound alone!

  • @yobolion

    Well..Andrei Aramnau is a -105k and he's 5ft8 I believe. Gold in Beijing too.

  • @prsguitars92 Thanks I didn't know that he is an exceptional athlete!

  • Zlatan Vanev was a 77kg at 6'1". I think height is not as much of a problem as people make it out to be in weightlifting, but any discussion about this ultimately digresses to whether or not these athletes excelled in spite of their height; as genetic anomalies.

  • damn... are you sure he was THAT tall?

  • Check out his "visittobulgaria" page, it's in the first few results of a google search on his name, the same site that lists Boevski as 5'9".

  • You must be joking.

  • haha wooow!!! thanks for posting man!!!!!

  • Elsk <3
