  • I can't really say the actual music has aged well. It's pretty hardcore 80's cheese. Though I think Lost In Your Eyes' lyrics are decent enough that someone could redo it for today. But the difference between Debbie Gibson, and say, Katy Perry or Kesha, was the Gibson was practically a one-woman show. She actually had talent, could sing, could write, could play, and could produce, and did so at a pretty young age. I'd say the closest we have to that kind of talent today is Lady Gaga.

  • @supergnc No.

  • baggy pants should've been banned from fashion. cursed who invented it!

  • oooh my mother always played this song in the morning, i was 5 back then and now i'm 17 this song's still repeating in my head :)

  • i miss the 80s

  • @mrugly73 I'm with you girl or guy i miss the 80's as well... i was a young teen.

  • its Electric !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tantos recuerdos ..............

  • One of the most corniest songs and dance steps in the history of music!lol. Sorta cute.

  • So miss my younger years.. I used to dance this song in our school :D

  • IT's amazing in the 80's we loved this clean cut stuff with songs that were clean, inspirational and everyone was dressed. Looking back you can see that there has been a vast change where the only way you can "sell" is by being naked, being vulgar and dancing provocatively. Take me back to the 80's. We may not have been entirely innocent, but they were far better times.

  • @squishilicious can't said it better!! bring back the clothes!

  • @squishilicious

    Oh, shut up.

  • @squishilicious - Profound words, squishilicious.

  • @squishilicious U can go. I'll stay here where thru the magic internet I can enjoy the best of then & now.

  • we miss 80's and 90's

  • that fat loser Richard Simmons lookalike in the front row ruins this entire video...

  • oh yeah...michelle tanner...

  • It's electric! {Cute kid says, "debua".} I acquired my first UPS this week.

  • the bass line reminds me of John Taylor from Duran Duran

  • Amazing. Those dance moves. The outfits. Love it!

  • When she's in the pink neon shirt, she looks like Blossom! :-D

  • fucking hot in this video. love the air. and fringe..

  • Britney stole from debbie gibson. i didnt always like this gal at the time. it was too teenybopperish for me. corny and sappy.

  • sexy !!!

  • classic! love it!

  • I agree 100% with the 80s music and fashion. Wish I had a time machine to go back.

  • Does she not look like Ke$ha? :P

  • @TheLouZer no. she dont look like a hooker.

  • electric youth was a damn good perfume too!

  • she looks like britney when she was young... love it...

  • So wish I could have been a youth in the 70s or 80s to hear the music and watch the music shows

  • Comment removed

  • @metsdudenj And yet you watched all 6 minutes of it?

  • People wear clothes less and less from time to time. Everybody's trying to show off their bodies. Who knows 100 more years they only wear underwear.

  • Jordan slam dunking it @ 4:55, classic!

  • Its funny seeing her here then you see her at the end of a katy perry video age hasnt done her any favours.

  • WOW memories, wish we could go back to when music was like this! Thanks 4 posting ;D

  • 49 People sing bad and dress like sluts :/

  • she looks great without having to look like a whore, GOD BLESS THE 80'S!

  • @ian7685 Lots of people looked like whores in the 80's and lots didn't. Just like today!

  • Ironically enough, I had a crush on Deb as a teenager during the same era of Britney Spears' popularity in the past decade.

  • debbie in her music video only in my dreams she looks like britney spears dont u agree ,they do look alike

  • the princess of pop debbie

  • 90s music was theee best! better than today's music definitley!!!

  • ey,, justin bieber's in 35 ???!!!

  • Damn this is kinda serious in the beginning

  • I'll choose this video anytime over Britney's or Gaga's..... I miss the 80s....

  • Thumbs up if you got here after see Debbie at Last Friday Night video by Katy Perry!

  • The first Britney Spears

  • doin this song in the warm up routune for zumba tommorow ;) <3 love it!!!

  • tenia buen timbre y matiz en su voz

  • 80/90's music rules..better than 2000++ music..

  • Electricute!!! That's what we call this back then... :-)

  • ELECTRIC!!!

  • I used to worship Debbie Gibson and Paula Abdul.

  • I guess what was considered "the next generation" wasn't electric after all. More like mechanical, with a mangled set of gears that had gone un-greased for a very long time. Grunge, anyone?

  • this was truly a great era where young pop-stars had class and real talent!

GRACIAS

  • este tema es del año 88

  • 49 people just got electrocuted by the youth!

  • true true sovery true.. today with these slutty fake singers..

  • she´s sorta britney spears from the 80's

  • @MrAngeloss- Sorta?!?!? She is far beyond Britney Spears in talent and intellect. Saying she was the Britney Spears from the 80's is just insulting.

  • @SycoTik you´re right, man.I do like Debbie and don´t like Britney.I just thought both of them a little similar phisically,That´s all.

  • So many people make fun of Debbie/Deborah Gibson but you have to give the girl credit, she is very, very talented. Even her acting in the Foolish Beat video was awesome. She comes from an era where singers sold the music they made with the talent they had. Nowadays it's all about sex appeal, sadly. It's scary to think of what morals these children will grow up to have.

  • Cute little baby at the beginning of this video....what...in her early to mid twenties now? Jeez, I'm so old.

  • Too bad she went on to star in 'Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus'...(stinko)...after the obligatory Playboy pose....

  • This represents everything that was wrong with the 80's. While other artists were pleading with the world to see the hazards of the milirary indutrail complex, war, nuclear proliferation, pollution, mindless relgiosity, consumerisim etc., people were being dazzled by candy sweet pop music. Junk food for the mind. Now, a Noam Chomsky lecture as a palette cleanser.

  • Way ahead of her time. This is about the internetz!11

  • the 80's Beat...

  • Better than GaGa , perry and i don't know.

  • Growing up, I was totally in love with Debbie Gibson. That is one crazy, cheesey, f***ed up video...definitely what the '80s were all about! haha

  • where she is now????

  • EPIC!! :) Made my day! (thank you silly facebook survey for having me look this up!)

  • This video is every 80s cliche rolled into one...but I love it!

  • i was born in 1995 and i prefer 80's pop and some rock over todays crap, back then people knew how to dance and sing, now all the do is stand there looking like idiots and have that stupid auto tune voice thingy to make them sound like a robot

  • @CuntreyGurl03 There's plenty of artists who don't use autotune.

  • @elvickRULES i know but because my family likes to listen to 95.1 i hear a lot of it nd it kinda gets annoying don't get me wrong i listen to a lot of other music as my user name says lol but when ever im in the car with my mom all i hear is auto tune singers

  • Thumbs up for Mikey Jackson :D!!

  • Ohhh man, the keyboard guys fly around the screen!!! You can't get more 80's than this!!!!!

  • JUSTIN BEIBER at 4:11

The little rascal is just everywhere

  • LOL the intro.

  • I cracked the shits at my dad when it came on t.v, due to the vcr recording only half of this filmclip, this brings back memories and the filmclip is very electric

  • The Model is terrible, the choreography is that of Michael, who only played bad.

  • good music no nudity like today you know what i mean

  • Elementary school anthem lmao omg memories...kids these days have nothing on this! Thanks for posting ;)

  • omg! i remeber this song when i was at first grade(late 1980s) in the Philippines

  • It's electric...

    dribble

What more needs to be said?

  • im 13 and well i like 80's and 90's music better than todays

  • @ZoeyRedbird0160 same here,90%of my songs in my mp3 are 80's song

  • @ZoeyRedbird0160 u got good taste.

  • @ZoeyRedbird0160 so you mean I'm not the only 13 yr old who feels this way? (:

  • @iLOVESaraSamAva ya i listen to it all the time

  • I know at lot of people have issues about how crap '80's music was, but personally, I grew up with this stuff and I have to say I prefer it to a lot of the stuff that's out today. I'm not saying one is better or worse than the other, it's a matter of taste and emotions. My only argument is I happen to like it.

  • awesome choreography :)

  • i agree wit u floridaRaider today they dress like sluts to be seen and and get known

  • sweet debbie with great talent..really where is she at today?

  • wow...i remember this song when i was 2nd grade...still awesome!!! i miss 80s

  • AMO ESTA SONG

  • ELEKTRIK YUOTHH

  • i was sooo lucky i saw her nude in playboy. electric nude!

  • still love her!!

  • Damn shes so cute and pretty, I wish i was a teenage in the late 80s

  • great era! i wish i grew up in the 80's so i wouldn't need medication

  • Eh... don't care for the song, but DAMN I'd hit that!

  • Es una de las mejores junto a Tiffany

  • I wish I was born in the 80s!

  • ugg!!! i use to wear electric youth perfume lol

  • I can't handle all the vests...

  • Love it, this is one of my favorite videos from the era. I'd listen to Debbie Gibson before I'd listen to a lot of the crap that's out now. In my opinion, Taylor Swift is one of the few current artists who actually has talent.

  • wow, teen singers that dressed appropriately. Not the slut-wear of today's singers.

  • @FloridaRaider amen!

  • @FloridaRaider true that! there are only a few appropriately dressed singers :(

  • @FloridaRaider Completely agree with you... but what I have to say is that here in Brazil the slut-wears are worse then other places in the world... they behave like sluts after all...

  • @FloridaRaider I was just thinking the same thing. At first I was like "Hey, Britney finally put on some clothes!" The irony is that the more "mature" Deborah Gibson still ended up posing for Playboy. I wonder what the point of the suffragette movement was when it seems like the Modern Woman's highest aspiration is brothel employee.

  • The difference between then and now....In the 80's they still sang and wore clothing. Now they lip sync to a voice that has been totally digitized so it does not sound human and they pretty much go naked. Huh....

  • is she like the britney of the 80s they look a like

  • @lovegxx Oh, but you have it backwards... Britney was the Debbie of the 2000's.

Really, most everything you see now, it has been done before. Worst yet, most of the top songs now are just remake of 70's and 80's songs, no one writes original stuff anymore.

  • I LOVE THIS!! This video was the "Bad Romance" of its time!

  • so much better than miley cyrus..

  • A special Early Show has been added for Canal Room's Back to the Eighties special in NYC on 01/22 8pm featuring RUBIX CUBE with DEBBIE GIBSON and TIFFANY! Tickets are $20 in advance on the Canal Room site, and a limited amount will also be available at the door!

  • Stop! This video is actually showing the performer for more than 1/2 second.

The clothes are really 80s, but not in the embarassing way (BIG shoulder pads, crimped hair, and ridiculous colours) - perhaps it's because this was filmed in the late 80s by someone not the Jets or Hall and Oates... :-)

  • Loved her playboy spread.

  • Love it all the video but the intro and 4:00 at 4:54 is amazing!!.

  • Britney who???

  • I wonder why this song didn't reach top 10 in the US chart. It only went to 11th spot. This was a follow up to her no 1 song Lost in Your Eyes that spent 3 weeks at the top. And her album Electric Youth went to no. 1 also. For me this song must have reach 2 or no,1 either. The meaning of the song is informational about how youth could be use by a the nation and even how they accomplish and be successful.

  • To be honest her voice could use a little computer enhancement...

  • @dethbiker She sounds fine just the way it is. It's raw talent, not fake BS.

  • @SeafoamStymphalian - Absolutely agree!! She is perfect and came from a time when singers could sing!!! They didn't need to be fed through a computer to "use a little computer enhancement"..............!!!! (I'm looking at you, dethbiker.....

  • i miss this album!!

  • Looks like they dressed relatively modest in pop music vids from the 80's compared to today.

  • @Skulldini Yes, quite refreshing, don't you think?

  • Dammit I miss the 80's! I totally had the Electric Youth perfume when this song came out! Loved it! Debbie Gibson was one of my faves back then! Oh the memories[of youth]!!!

  • omg 4th gread i soooooooooooooo rember this

  • My first ever major crush as a 15yrs old boy. Actually remember having an arguement about who was better...... Debbie Gibson or Michael Jackson!!!! When I think on the music I listen to now, this gives me the shivers! Having said that, SSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many memories have come flooding back. Memories of a time when you had no mortgage payments to worry about, kids to clothe & feed & no nagging wife wondering why the hell I'm listening to this song just now!!!!!

  • Christ! I thought that was Britney Spears for a split second...............

  • oh the great memories dancing !!!!!!!!!!
