These have existed since earliest times and they aim to reinterpret the sources of Islamic law based on the circumstances of the society. That is why we have schools of thought. So the answer is YES I can question my ideology and it can and does adapt. It does have some constant underlying features though.

Religion just makes it easier to form bonds and to enclose strangers into your community.. And since then no muslim country has been able to get his shit together.. Think democracy is bad? Take a look at islamic structures.. If we have a planet with over 6 billion people in it with a 100% increase predicted for the next 50 years, we cannot have loners controlling everything.. It just doesn't work..

But to me islam is also a causer of some and sometimes a lot of these problems.. Because if you put one or just a few guys up for highest authority, with little wiggle room to control them anymore, things get out of hand.. Well religion and science exists for different purpose and has different aims and domains of operation. Qur'an was not revealed to teach people how to make space rockets you see or how to solve maxwells equations for different types of physical structures. That is just not the point. @MsReefmaster In Islam there are the secondary sources of Islamic law. These are called Ijma and Qiyas and can be translated as "Agreement (of the majority of doctors of law)" and "Analogy". These have existed since earliest times and they aim to reinterpret the sources of Islamic law based on the circumstances of the society. That is why we have schools of thought. So the answer is YES I can question my ideology and it can and does adapt. It does have some constant underlying features though.
