I remember watching pans people on top of the pops i never liked them then and i still dont, just a bunch of no talent dancers, sorry but i cant get exited over them.
@vymmas also a sad fact is that if any of those dancers walked past you today, you would not give a second glance, maybe you'd offer them a seat on your bus.
TOTP was famously not live, usually mimed and recorded in advance. You would have thought they would have kept recording takes until they could get all the dogs to sit still.
I suppose the dog who left might have been gay or had a pc opposition to watching ladies dance.
They are pretty girls and yes very sexy. However i'm no dance judge but even I could see how out of time they were. When they dip behind the bencg about 2/3s of the way through I thought one had tripped over. Funny stuff
The dog who left was just like "I ain't gettin' paid enough for this. I'm dog food commercials now." Haha. Definately a good song, though. Good looking women, too.
This is STILL a favorite of mine! I love the pretty women and their dresses and oh gosh, those legs. I love the dance moves. I wish that I had seen this when it first came out in 1973, but alas, I was only 10. Top Of The Pops must have been a great show.
Me and my friends were in a "proper" dance troupe and we hated this lot! They didn't keep time, keep together or anything. I remember watching this on the Christmas edition and we were all on the phone bitching afterwards. "Call that dancing?" "all they did was walk around and wave their fingers!! Happy days!
I remember watching this - me and my mates (who were in a dance troupe) HATED this lot because we were "proper" dancers, all they used to do was wander around and shake their fingers - they didn't keep time or dance together or anything - we were all wanting the dogs to pee on them!!!! We thought the dogs were far more talented!
I remember watching this - me and my mates (who were in a dance troupe) HATED this lot because we were "proper" dancers, all they used to do was wander around and shake their fingers - they didn't keep time or dance together or anything - we were all wanting the dogs to pee on them!!!!
Just been reading TOTP's excellent memoir "Mishaps, Miming and Music" and apparently Flick Colby, PP's choreographer (!!) wanted cute little poodles for this performance, but got lumbered with this lot - the dogs, I mean. As for the one who escaped, his paws obviously hadn't been secured in place with sticky back plastic - the Beeb stage hands must've used all theirs up on Blue Peter earlier in the day.
Sadly men are to blame for the way women are today, they want their Nuts and Zoo magazine fantasy sluts and their innocent housewives at the same time..Hey, you can't have your cake and eat it, know what I mean..
Ah the 1970s...when women were innocently sexy...feminine and sweet with just a splash of raunchiness to keep you interested...a world away from the joyless world of today's foul mouthed, cheap, binge drinking tramps...
I've written a song called "Binge Drinking" for a girl dance rock band that I'm working on called Laissez-Fayre - the song is available on YouTube, check it out when you can, I think you'll find it quite funny. :)
@TomthatiscalledTom I like foul mouthed cheap binge drinking tramps LOL ! Being serious, they are lovely but there's no need to diss the women of today *cool*

@Crisavec4 The fact was that Flick Colby often had 24 hours to listen, devise a routine, choregraph, rehearse AND record their slot.
They could have been workign on one for a few days - then suddenly another song climbed.. or the act wasn't available.
