  • i always had the hots for the one in the green coat and i was only a kid then lol

  • I remember watching pans people on top of the pops i never liked them then and i still dont, just a bunch of no talent dancers, sorry but i cant get exited over them.

  • Those are some seriously well behaved dogs!

    Maybe they're British too. :)

  • That lady in the green sweater and yellow skirt rocks my world. I can't believe this was well before I was even born.

  • @funkmike Agreed... she's a total knockout... but when I was 12 I used to have all kinds of naughty thoughts about all of these girls.

.... but especially for the little brunettes.

  • Brilliant vid !!! Shame thongs wern't in fashion in 73 !!!!

  • You can basically see all their underpants at 1:22!!

  • God I love the 70s...or should that be doG!

  • wtf is this. the dogs are more talented just sitting there....very chessy.

  • They on something jumping around dogs please..

  • I'd be puffing and panting too if I was getting cuddles off these babes :-)

  • 1949giorio, they don't make dogs like them anymore either

  • GREAT SONG. ADORABLE DOGS. ADORABLE GIRLS

  • Wow! I feel like I'm back in 1973, listening to KLIV! When did top 40 stop being fun?

  • And goldfish wouldn’t work, either.

  • They don’t make girls like them any longer. More’s the pity.

  • 100 likes! WIN!

  • lucky bloody dogs, aint babs gorgous ... graham, alias yogi bear

  • The middle dog never worked on TV again and had his equity card revolked.

  • Ah felt kinda sorry for the dug that got hunted tae fck in the first verse tbh

  • totp classic, along with the "Jockie Wilson said" darts video

  • i wonder if this was really about a dog

  • Five cats won't tolerate this. Pandemonium!

  • @ziggycat999 ".... you're a bad cat baby, but I still want you around..."

Naaaah, lyric doesn't work for me hahaha

  • Choclate isn't even as sweet as these girls, These girl have moves that would

knock the wheels off a cop car. . I would enjoy seeing these girls perform any

    time or any where.

  • @TheSuperbird43 Most of them would be in their 60s by now. Might have to slow it down. :-)

  • It's a sad fact but all those dogs will now be dead.

  • @vymmas also a sad fact is that if any of those dancers walked past you today, you would not give a second glance, maybe you'd offer them a seat on your bus.

  • @liveforevermaybe ha you should see Dee Dee you would give her a second look :-)

  • Still amazing!

  • it is so embarrassing when your mum tries to act sexy

  • R.I.P Flick :-(

  • "You're a bad dog, baby--"

    [dog leaves]

    ROFL

  • TOTP was famously not live, usually mimed and recorded in advance. You would have thought they would have kept recording takes until they could get all the dogs to sit still.

I suppose the dog who left might have been gay or had a pc opposition to watching ladies dance.

  • @CharlesDickens99 They recorded on Weds for Thurs TX. Not much time, and Quad was expensive...

  • This vid is such entertainment... I LVOE it.

This song reminds me of David Dundas - Jeans On

  • @DancingSpiderman More the case that one of David Dundas's inspirations was Gilbert - as this was rteleased 3 years before Dundas's track.

Which will be airing sometime in Sep - IIRC.

  • @alcockell Good pop music. Ahh ! Refreshing.

  • The dogs are on the L..........

Righto, I'll get my coat too

  • That middle dog was me - I needed a piss.

  • Red dress does the sad girl dance at 1:55 cuz she realizes there's 5 girls and 4 dogs. No Dog for Her!

  • How hot are they. I'll have the one in the purple dress - the one at 25 secs who's pointing at the dog.

  • @flares And all 6 cameramen would do the same. "CU on Babs, please" - - 6 nice tight closeups..

  • 1.21

    KNICKERS

  • Love this vid. It reminds me of 'chardonay'. hahahaha

  • I enjoyed the middle dog taking the lyrics seriously. Also, isn't it weird to call a dog baby?

  • that dog at the beginning im not going to sit here and watch some girls dance for me right that does it im out of here

  • @lake40 Was that dog gay?

  • Which are the dogs and which are the dancers?

  • @mistofoles The dogs were the ones with the tails mate.

  • Reminds me of that Jo Brand skit.

  • Gorgeous gals that's for sure!

  • hahahahahah!

  • It beats RAP music anyday!

  • It would have been better if the dogs dnaced too.

  • It would have been better if the dogs dnaced too.

  • The girl in blue did a fascinating manouvure. 1st class.

  • These poor dogs are being exploited, the ones sat down behaved okay though...

  • Well they told the middle dog to "get down"- so he did! Any idea how much the girls got paid per show?

  • that was cute

  • They are pretty girls and yes very sexy. However i'm no dance judge but even I could see how out of time they were. When they dip behind the bencg about 2/3s of the way through I thought one had tripped over. Funny stuff

  • How thoughtful of the wardrobe department to match their knickers to the colour of the dresses. Har har.

  • Who is the first one to step up to the camera? She is the most beautiful in my opinion.

  • The dog who left was just like "I ain't gettin' paid enough for this. I'm dog food commercials now." Haha. Definately a good song, though. Good looking women, too.

  • This is STILL a favorite of mine! I love the pretty women and their dresses and oh gosh, those legs. I love the dance moves. I wish that I had seen this when it first came out in 1973, but alas, I was only 10. Top Of The Pops must have been a great show.

  • The BBC lost the ability to laugh at itself about 1990. Since then its been all down hill.

  • Louise is so gorgeous - just my age now too!! Wayhey

  • Me and my friends were in a "proper" dance troupe and we hated this lot! They didn't keep time, keep together or anything. I remember watching this on the Christmas edition and we were all on the phone bitching afterwards. "Call that dancing?" "all they did was walk around and wave their fingers!! Happy days!

  • @Crisavec4 Yeah but they usually had top hits to dance to. Plus they were cute. And even though I was 11 at the time, I liked them. Geez I'm an old.

  • I remember watching this - me and my mates (who were in a dance troupe) HATED this lot because we were "proper" dancers, all they used to do was wander around and shake their fingers - they didn't keep time or dance together or anything - we were all wanting the dogs to pee on them!!!!

  • @Crisavec4 The fact was that Flick Colby often had 24 hours to listen, devise a routine, choregraph, rehearse AND record their slot.

They could have been workign on one for a few days - then suddenly another song climbed.. or the act wasn't available.

  • when chicks were chicks!!! hot stuff!

  • That golden retriever is so cute.

  • Lol @ 0:33- The dog's just like, "Screw you guys, I'm out."

  • GET DOWNNN!!!! (nathan stephenson) :)

  • Just been reading TOTP's excellent memoir "Mishaps, Miming and Music" and apparently Flick Colby, PP's choreographer (!!) wanted cute little poodles for this performance, but got lumbered with this lot - the dogs, I mean. As for the one who escaped, his paws obviously hadn't been secured in place with sticky back plastic - the Beeb stage hands must've used all theirs up on Blue Peter earlier in the day.

  • @cropcircle82 Yeh ive just started reading that book myself it seems interesting.

  • Didn't take long for the middle dog to decide he'd had enough :.)

  • @quarthex1 The others told him to bugger off and make room for Cherry to sit down!

  • @quarthex1

    HAHA Big lol!

  • @quarthex1 11 bars and then thought "fuck this".

  • @quarthex1 And did you see the other 4 dogs look at him like "well you fu cked it up for all of us really"

  • @quarthex1

Totally agree, but they were saying 'Get Down'

  • I love going down

  • womens lib rules !! DOWN WITH TROUSERS ! OFF WITH BRAS !

  • no-one could give a smoldering look like Louise ( green)

  • I love the way that dog seems to think "sod this" and goes

  • hey! what happened to the dog who split?

  • @fireblade95

He was eaten by Tony Blackburn.

  • Tom, I agree 100%, although I was born in 1979, I know exactly what you mean!

  • louise clark mmmmmm

  • Sadly men are to blame for the way women are today, they want their Nuts and Zoo magazine fantasy sluts and their innocent housewives at the same time..Hey, you can't have your cake and eat it, know what I mean..

  • @raychris10 But what's the point if you're going to have a cake and not eat it? I wouldn't bake a cake and not eat it and neither should you.

    No.

I'm going to have my cake AND eat it. Then I'll get another cake.

    And eat that.

  • @nickbaldeagle01 lol!! Good for you, just watch the calories yeah!!

  • @nickbaldeagle01 With or without green icing? Dry or soggy?

Sorry - I'll get my coat

  • one of the dogs left with embarrasment saying right thats it i am out of here im not going to put up with this

  • Suspicious. Those bitches are more sedated than the McCann children!

  • You talking about the dogs or the dancers? Actually don't answer that. I'm not sure what your reply will be (laughs)

  • Wonderful. They look like women, not the half starved androgenous females dancers of today. Good vid, 8/10 on the PP scale.

  • That's because it was back in a decade where it was okay for a woman to BE and look like a woman instead of some Barbie doll. Pan's People rocked!!

  • Hell Yeah!

  • I liked the tall one in green and yellow here - swoon

  • Ah the 1970s...when women were innocently sexy...feminine and sweet with just a splash of raunchiness to keep you interested...a world away from the joyless world of today's foul mouthed, cheap, binge drinking tramps...

  • I've written a song called "Binge Drinking" for a girl dance rock band that I'm working on called Laissez-Fayre - the song is available on YouTube, check it out when you can, I think you'll find it quite funny. :)

  • @TomthatiscalledTom

    Couldn't agree more

  • @TomthatiscalledTom so so true

  • @TomthatiscalledTom I like foul mouthed cheap binge drinking tramps LOL ! Being serious, they are lovely but there's no need to diss the women of today *cool*

  • @TomthatiscalledTom i agree totally

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Inocent??? What's inocent about this???? Raunchy as hell more like!!

  • @TomthatiscalledTom She's still dancing...

  • @TomthatiscalledTom .... DIG IT.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom don't forget the tats and plastic finger nail culture.

  • the two brunettes ruth and cherry were always my favorites

  • those dogs are well trained! lol. for them to rely on them to stay put like that!

  • Retro Chicks Rock! As a kid in the early 1970's I was wasting my time watching Little House on the Prairie and The Partridge Family - while at the same time British kids were drooling over Pan's People.

  • Ha ha ha love the dog @ 0:34 I can't say I blame him for buggering off

  • @alfiesgirluk - That was my dads dog and apparently that was part of the act but i totally agree with you - i would have buggered off too lol

  • That was my dads dog and apparently that was part for the act, but i totally agree, i would have buggered off too lol

  • GREAT!

  • thats my girlfriend on the left,no wonder shes wearing a mask....just kidding

  • there well behaved arnt they

    #

  • They were - are great I loved them all and they made totps

  • Pan's People had that unique combination of innocence and sexiness that made them the perfect dancing group

  • Lol, I was about 12 when this came out and still remember my dad pretending to read the paper.. I've an idea that Pans People were just for the "Older viewer"

  • Hey this was essential viewing when I was 12! ;-)

  • Your'e right there m8.. 12- 16 really..

  • haha when i was young the British invasion was memorable men ,i love those ages they were the best

  • Ha ha! That dog @ 0:34 is like "I've had enough of this shit!"

  • got this on video with all the other songs, love it <3

  • I love this song. It sounds almost like a disco track several years before disco became fashionable!

  • WOW!!!! Like keep bringing on the GROOVES!!!!!

  • lol the one in the silly mask at the start!

  • very cool
