This song, actually titled "I Don't Know Why," is on Mr. Mister's newly released "Pull" CD (recorded in 1990 but not released until 20 years later). "Pull" is fantastic! MM's best ever. You can purchase the CD on lead singer, Richard Page's website or the Mr. Mister official website. Great stuff that should have been out there years ago! What was RCA thinking back then? Their loss. Richard Page is not dead either; he has a new solo CD, "Peculiar Life." Also great!
I agree. The newly released MM Pull CD should have been released a long time ago, unfortunately, if a record company doesn't feel an album is good enough to release, they won't do it-they originally shelved this one, and got their tax writeoff. Politics, I guess.
@jm31563 Thanks for your email, jm31563. Yes, RCA's loss for "not getting" MM's "Pull" music in 1990. However, as I commented on Richard Page's website (on "The Wall" section) just the other day, perhaps "Pull" wasn't supposed to be released until 2010. Everything has its time and this is (finally) the time for "Pull." Do you think the CD was named because RCA "pulled" the plug on it? Anyway, it's a pleasure to be able to enjoy their music 20 years later. It isn't too late. "The Lioness"
ANNOUNCEMENT:On 7/19/10, Richard Page announces in a web radio interview that Mr. Mister's final unreleased album PULL has been re-mastered and will see the light of day "soon." Go to listenin.org and look up Mr. Mister in the INTERVIEWS page!! Good news, eh?

Please do not compare Page to Sting! Although Sting is more commercialised than Page, it's Page who has always had the REAL talent! And, he is far better looking than Sting, even now!
This is great...I am a longtime fan of Mr Mister and Richard Page.I have never heard the Pull album, just the Waiting In My Dreams on the Best of collection.I hope it gets released one day as I would buy it for my collection and spin it often on the player!!! I never saw Mr Mister in concert but would love to see him solo or if the good Lord allows Mr Mister to regroup.I always wanted VH-1 to do Bands Reunited for them...that would have been awesome!!!Thanks for posting this and take care all!!
@one2onefan: I also have been a fan of Richard P and Mr. Mister for a long time, and this is the first time I've heard this song. I LOVE it!! I also was hoping Mr. Mister would have been on Bands Reunited!! They would have been the perfect group for that.
Great Stuff love Mr and everything Page does Go On is an absolute gem and one of the best mixed albums ever in my opinion... God Bless King Richard and all his loyal knights...
It's amazing to me that Richard's voice is as gorgeous now and it was back in the 80's. I'm also impressed that there are still so many fans that want him back in the mainstream media. Hopefully he'll hear our cry and come back in full force.
dunno where you heard that. richard page isn't dead. the album wasnt released because the record label didnt want to release it, not because the band didnt.
@LeftHandOfDarkness If I recall correctly, RCA was taken over and the management replaced while the album was in preparation. By the time the disastrous takeover had finished, they decided to concentrate on kiddie records (rap) and dumped anything remotely talented.
I wish RCA would remaster the 3 Mr. Mister albums & finally release this one. RCA held it back because they disbanded before this album had a chance to be released. My theory is "So what?" A lot of artists who die usually have material released after their death via their record companies. Look at 2Pac; He's still making records 12 years after HIS death! How is Mr. Mister's case any different?
What a pity that this beautiful music was never released... And that we have to talk about Mr Mister using past tense forms. They're now my favourite band and I'm discovering their music 20+ years later...
janejordan85, they're my fave band too. but "past tense"? not so fast! do a youtube search for richardpagemusic, and you'll find a really nice surprise.
the man behind that absolutely adorable voice has a gorgeous christmas present for his fans. :-D
Very good album, I would suggest another standout in addition to the two you have posted is "We Belong To No One". Love that track. Thanks again for finding this gem.
Amen to that! "We Belong to No One" is so haunting, when I first got my hands on this album, I listened to that track over and over. Especially love the jamming at the end.
P.S. refering to another post ... what does Trevor Rabin have to do with this album??
I couldn't have explained it better. The bass/keyboard/drum combo at the end is great. It's my favorite song on the album. I don't know the answer about Rabin.
Trevor Rabin was the producer on this album. Based on even this incomplete mix, I think he would've been their ideal producer all along. (On their first album, for example, the songs are all good, but there's way too much tinkering, too many drum machines, etc. etc., which I blame on the producer: whereas their music SHOULD showcase vocals, drums, bass, keyboard riffs cleanly and simply.)
You should check out the album "go on...". It's got some uniquely crafted special songs. The album ends with a song with a sweet message that's exhilirating beyond description.
I hope now that Richard Page's joined Youtube "for real" he'll make this album available "for real". I can't believe RCA wouldn't even release this album. Surely the rights must have reverted back to the band, right? The record company can't keep "owning" an album in perpetuity they'll never release, can they?!
Sure seems the band should have the rights by now, though it may only be to the songs and not this recording. Thanks so much for sharing these tunes with us LHOD!
This has become one of my favorites of this band, and it's all because of you. It didn't even get released!!!@ Industry and consumer fools!!
Mr. Misters sound and identity were fully realized by this record.
I miss real groups like this. They should all come back and replace what we're left with today.

I'd say Sting on Fields of Gold could pretty much take on any competitor, just for the heart that it's sang with?

Maybe we should keep telling richard page that we want mr mister back again.
Maybe a petition would work.
Maybe we should post our own versions of mr mister songs onyoutube, and then he'll realise how many fans he has.

posting our versions of those songs? sounds interesting and a dream-come-tru for someone like me ;)

Yeah. I think if we keep showing them how much people like them, then maybe they'll reform. I'd like to see them on a reunion tour.

Very surreal and vivid song
