I am absolutely devastated and saddened by these facts ... cancer is a difficult disease .. I will pray for Tony ... for your your fight against the disease ... your fans want you to remain here ...
THIS IS WHERE I WAS IN 76 AND NEVER LEFT. I STILL GOT THIS ALBUM AND A LOT MORE. ONLY 53 BUT NEVER LEFT MY 16 YEAR OLD BRAIN BEHIND ! ROCK AND WILL NEVER DIE! LIVE IT UP, JOHNB.N.Y.C.
I love this track. To me this is the best track on technical ecstasy. As many pointed out below, It's got a real Beatles feel, and it shows the soft side of Sabbath. I prefer it to She's Gone as that one's too depressing for my taste. Also, Bill Ward sings on both this and Swinging The Chain, proving Black Sabbath possibly could have gone on as a three piece recording-wise, but lead singing drummers are fairly rare.
All they did was assign a certain label of imagined legitimacy (or validity) based on their own preferences/predilections and taste in music. In plainer words, all they did was validate a certain group of people (true fans) on the SOLE degree of liking a song. I know it sounds like I'm making this really complex, but it's VERY simple if you pay attention to the comment. I wanted them to explain it, since they act like it (a true) is a consensual entity it's not. It's clearly biased.
@superazteca1 how can you insult Ozzy true he didnt contribute much to the songwriting, but he was still a member of Black Sabbath and any Sabbath fan knows the difference in sound when Ozzy left. Plus Ozzy loves Iommi like a brother and so does Tony. The only reason Ozzy got so famous was not because of the bats thing but because of his image he sold more
@superazteca1 even if you prefer another guitarist, how can you ignore how talented hendrix was? at the very least he is top 5. Iommi was pretty great too, but why make that comment a mediocre display of talent like this song. it doesn't showcase anything impressive.
@superazteca1 Ozzy was the biggest fan of the Beatles at the time. You might not like the Beatles, but the influence on Hard Rock and Metal they had is undeniable.
@superazteca1 I enjoy to read comment like yours and thinking "why someone would waste time hating a great band for no reason while he could just like them". You know this song is kinda influenced by the beatles, don't you?
Its geat how they got the Beatles influence down and then Tony comes in there perfect with his guitar work electric and acoustic. They are to me The Other Other Beatles and I am inspired more by them.
i'm still proud to say black sabbath has always been my favorite band since 1973,when i was only 8 -and they've never been touched...well now there's just a lot more favorites...like xtc!
@KIDAmnesiacBends lol thats your opinon good .i think your opinion is way better than this song my man.!!and better than the whole technical ecstasy album.im pretty sure this is the first album tony iommi would bring in a shovel .and start digging a big deep hole.and pretend that the album was never realesed .bury the worst black sabbath moments, take my comment when i say your opinion is better thn this album as a compliment.and you will see i was right..
Bill was on mass ammounts of cocaine while singing this song...oh, i was also on mass ammounts of cocaine while listening to this song...when it came out when i was 14.
@Asburyfun Let's not forget about Albert Bouchard from Blue Oyster Cult singing on Cities on Flame and Gil Moore from Triumph on their cover of Rocky Mountain Way.
Bill Ward had an album or cd out in the early 90s that Ozzy and some of the Black Sabbath members contributed. I can't remember it but Bill Ward did have a hit song off of it but can't remember it.. :(
The older I get, and the more I hear this song, the more I like it. A complete 180 from the first time I heard it as a teenager. I think I deep down I liked it back then, but I was like "WTF? This is Sabbath!?, Bleh". Now I just like it for what it is, and that's a nice mellow song.
@PortsmouthFilms exactly and to be honest, justin bieber sings ok but it isnt appealing at all and it hasnt anything emotional in comparison to rocks greatest singers.
