Well, I'm glad she's so proud to be female. However, I'm skeptical of huge generalizations about genders because they're too conclusive. Sometimes women are smarter sometimes they're not as smart. In fact, sometimes a smart female acts stupid and sometimes a not so smart female acts smart. Measuring intelligence is not only difficult to quantify but also difficult to define what it is you're measuring. She's just too general I think. But hey, women are great though I love em too.
I don't think she said females are smarter. Our brains are just "wired" differently. This doesn't make one better than the other, it makes for complimentary partnership when we better understand the differences between how men and women think, react and communicate.
She seems to be using this as a platform for her studies. All the women I know seem to have turned out okay, so evidently we are doing something right in education. If we go around trying to give special treatment to every category of person (race, gender, etc.) for whatever reason, we'll never make improvements.
I completely agree with you. Yes, as a male I am quite offended by the sexism preached by this Rutgers employer. As proven in resent research done by (Anyone Know) the woman has a better ability to remember specific details about a past situation, but unlike the male brain; reasonable thought is often shrouded my the high level of emotions produced by the woman's hormones. My point is, we each have our own purposes and are essentially equal.
Or should I sink to this "professors" level by just speaking of "Nappy headed hoes". Honestly, this is barbaric and even I as a 17 year old understand this.
Once you get to college you will learn not to make such sweeping generalizations until you have read the entire body of work to which she is referring to. Not only her research but others. Your entire comment is sexist at best. As a human male I find it offensive and ignorant. I forgive you for being 17 and making this comment. I suppose it's the price we pay for a public, or in your case, maybe a home schooled education.
The female brain has a better connection between the left and right sides of the brain, but the male brain has a better connection between compartments within each side of the brain. Overall, male and female brains are equally connected. Why would someone try to rationalize sexism while answering The Davos Question?
I do agree that women and men may have different patterns of consciousness and potentials on a genetic perspective... however, this does not account for natural variations, attraction to the same sex, hormonal differences due to genetic makeup, and most importantly environmentally acquired conscience.
Could she explain "better connected". Sounds a bit sexist really.

Women are often very good relationaly, they are more apt at evaluating relational factors, caring, good administrators, organized.
However, environmental factors hold much influence as far as many conscious abilities are concerned.
Women remain the mothers, the givers of life, the indispensable source of love.

That sounds like a theory acquired by peer pressure and force of conviction, rather than balanced observation.
Those freudian and other pseudo scientific, pseudo philosophical theories spread for social control political interests hold no water whatsoever.
One should try and clear the mind of unconclusive acquired preconceptions before attempting scientific investigation.
