I'm just now a freshman in high school so I never really saw the inside of the old high school......Now their just about done with the new one which will be cool...I guess.......I just wish I would've been able to see the inside of the old school everyone misses so much......
Hi, My dawter is in IHS Marching Band! Kimberly faye, She plays clarinet. Do you know her? Do you still attend or did you Graduated? If you still attend, do you talk to Kimberly? Email me letting me know, thanks!
The old IHS was a classic. I remember finding locked rooms and maintenance passages during my time there so I could sneak away for a bit. There are a lot of memories in that building. In a way, I'm kind of glad it is gone. I didn't want to stick around I-town after I graduated and the school not being there helped to show me that I shouldn't live in the past. Now, Ironton is completely different.
I am not from Ironton but my wife is. She graduated in 87 and the last time we visited the town she brought me to the school. I helped her sneak in and we took a look around. It was fun to be in there and look around. She showed me the gym, the auditorium. I have to say that was by and far the BEST auditorium ever for true showmanship and theater feeling. I stoll her a piece of a wall at the time when they were renovating. This is truly sad.
My heart bleeds for my dear Alma Mater. It took four votes to pass the levy to destroy it. That school was classic. The auditorium and stage were the best I've ever seen. No new building will ever be as great as my IHS. I'll bet this new one doesn't last half as long as the original. EAH Class of '76:(
That's fine, that's your opinion. But if you don't like what I have to say about MY video, then don't watch it! And yeah I'll say it again it's sad that a piece of history is gone. That town has gone to hell because of the politicians that run it. So do yourself a favor and don't watch any of my videos. Thanks and BYE!
I didn't either! I've been gone from Ironton off and on since 2000. My parents still live there though. I think they told me the town voted 3 times before it was actually passed to tear down the old school. It's so sad I think, A piece of the towns history is gone.
Born in 81. Went to Ironton schools up til 8th grade, when my mother thought it was a great idea to transfer me to Rock Hill. I swear every kid on the bus, regardless of age, chewed tobacco and cracked racist jokes. The whole Tri-State area is so depressing and repressive. Everyone thinks like its still the dark ages, if you're gay, non-white, or simply not a Christian, the Tri-State can be hell on earth. Thankfully, I escaped to the West Coast when I was 20.
