  • @GABRIEL89ROLDAN gracias : ) Dean

  • @naedsukram

    which sticks are you using?

  • @SuperPeeteer pro mark 5A...or I'll use Vic Firth 5A quite happily, they seem a little lighter : ) Dean

  • i love it! keep up man =)

  • omg finally someone who can play drums and ur drums awesome dude nice kit btw.

  • Great video. I love watching your demonstrations. Very interesting and helpful. Thanks for posting the video

  • At last! Someone who knows how to play a shuffle!! Gotta have those ghost strokes man, ain't no shuffle without 'em! That's how ya do it!! Shame the guitar track is a million miles from blues though :-)

  • Very good!!!!!!

  • what drum heads are you using?

  • do u think i could make gretsch maple sound like this??

  • @buriedndead66 yes, these are maple shells.

  • @buriedndead66 In all reality, the correct producer is basically God. Understand this

  • @MrBlue707

    i dont understand..

  • @buriedndead66 its all in the production man, you can get any kit to sound good if the producer knows his shit

  • what kind of skins on the toms??

  • @buriedndead66 I think they were emperor coated on the 10" and clear on the 12" and a pinstripe on the 16"

    Cheers, Dean : )

  • this drummer is badass

  • Great playing! :-)

  • name of song ?????:D

  • it's just a progression I made up.

  • Excellent shuffle! Toms sound killer and I also like the little "LaGrange" fill in the break-down. Is that a Paiste "Rude" ride cymbal? It sound like a nice jazz ride and that kind of threw me off.

  • Thanx, yeah, paiste rude ride crash, although, not much of a crash, and not really suited to this sorta genre.

  • Right but it really sounded great for this style. Keep it up man.

  • The Ghost Strokes really make the shuffle "groove"...As far as what Im seeing and hearing this is also known as the "Texas Shuffle"...You play it as smooth as anyone Ive heard.

  • Talk me about the room where you use to record, anything special about the acoustic of that room?

  • It's a 5m by 6m room made of large limestone blocks with deep mortar lines, which help to act as diffusion, wooden floor.

  • I love the sound!!!, not like almost 98% of youtube drum videos!! with a terrible sound (including me) hehehehe.

  • Thanx. So many variables, room acoustics, mic pres, mics, heads, tuning, processing, sticks and most importantly, how you hit them. if u are limited with mics and inputs, or even mixing ability. best to use 3 mics (in order of importance) overheads left and right (in phase), plus a kick mic.

  • Nicely laid down....well done man!

  • Gets the Job done nicely. So refreshing to watch a finer youtube post of a home grown situation being performed.

  • Ooh I like that beginning. . I´m gonna steel it for my bluesband :-) Lovely

  • la grange! :D

  • I love your playing. How are you miking the snare? Check out my vids. Great stuff!

  • yeah, nice playin man, those toms r sweet, you are very expressive in your fill style, I like that. The snare is a sm57 top n bottom.

  • are you doing the texas shuffle for some of this?

  • yes, I swap between copying the right hand pattern exactly with the snare using ghost notes but accenting 2&4, then sometimes missing out 1&3 of the snare.

  • Nice job! cool that you play all the instruments!

Check out my vid´s too if you like. .

    Keep it up

    regards /hank

  • Thanks Hank, yeah, drums are really the only thing I profess to knowing a bit about though, the rest I know enough to amuse myself.

Nice tight rhythm section with your blues band! I checked out your 'studio' vid, very nice place!

  • Awesome job bro , looks and sounds great. I just took up drumming at the young age of 42 and hope to be able to play somewhere close to this in a few years. I added to my favorites and will be viewing quite often.

  • I mean, the MP3 without the drums.. thanks [:

  • Cool Dude >D !

amm.. where from the music that u play with? which song\artist is it? it's has a great sound!

  • Hi MetalHeaDrummer,

I play all the instruments on my vids and MP3s, it's all original tunes. Cheers, Dean

  • amm..can i get the link to this song\MP3 of the guitar..please ?

  • I'll post another link for this track with guitar and bass for drummers to play to. Just haven't got round to it...is that what you were after?

  • Yes, Thanks Dude!! i'm waitin' for it!

  • Awesome... Any way you could post this without the guitar D:

This would be great to jam to; it could be so versatile.

  • Yes, I'll put another mix up for guitarists to play along...good idea nicktomato7

    Cheers, Dean

  • I've uploaded it,the link is in video description window.

  • belend

  • Great playing and great sound!!!

More fills? You know excactly how to interpretaid the expression: "Less is more". Please, keep it that way.

Are there any 'play-along' mp3's available?

  • yes, there are more playalong MP3s, just check next to my video descriptions in each video, I think there's 3 up at present, and I'll try and post more.

    Cheers, Dean
