does anyone know a good bm hunter shot rotation or is it still broken? i have searched all over the web and tried every macro i find still cant get above 1300 dps in enchanted and gemmed naxx 10 man gear.
one good tip thats true to all specs is ( that i found) mark the target ( well duh ) and serpent sting em. That sting is your best friend. As for the rest of the rotation im trying to figure out. I was survival for a good while but its boring and so i switched back to BM
well, this shot rotation is rendered useless now that auto shot is unlinked. sad really, i loved watching quarts and seeing 3:2 in action. at least the new addition gives a slight dps boost and allows for latency better.
the cast bar is Quartz and you can use Recount as a dps meter. both can be found at Curse.
I dont know if Dr doom tests really show how strong Armor pen is but it seems haste is better at least compared to the aprox. 300 armor pen on the Daggers of Bad Mojo.
doctor boom's armor is way different that that of most bosses + he is 68 meaning you wont miss really with lower hit ratings as you would a boss. To my knowledge armor pen does not do much once he reaches lower amounts but on raid bosses I have noticed raid bosses get affected by armor pen quite a bit.
Actually its exactly opposite, the more armor a mob has, the smaller the effect of Armor penetration. This is entirely based on the way that armor bonuses are setup. Like say in a pvp situation, armor pen would be useless against a bear druid, because 1000 reduction may only be 1%, however against a clothie 1k might be 1/3 of his total armor. The whole system is setup strangely, and unless massively stacked, armor pen is useless against high armored opponents

Survival was the top DPS spec for a while until MM got buffed. BM is trash for DPS now, you shouldn't use it at all except to level and beastcleave.

my BM hunter can hit 1k dps at lvl 70 with 3-4 epics from BT

It depends on your attack speed. If u have a speed under 2.0 u should use 1:1, if not use 3:2.

When I wrote that, it was pre 3.0 :, but yes they have changed armor pen and there is no more 3:2 rotation
