Deuteronomy 23:23-24 "If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city..." The LORD is good indeed. He says its half women's fault if they're raped for simply being there and not yelling loud enough.
@timmyrainone An enormous amount of modern theology is man centered and has departed the truth of the Bible a long time ago. Look at the rise of the satanic faith and prosperity so-called "ministries" such as Copeland, Dollar, Paula White, Joyce Meyers, and one of the worse; Joel Osteen. They go as far as to now claim that they are "little gods." Man now claiming to be "gods." If you will recall, satan tried the same thing and tried to get Eve to temp Adam with godhood.
Blessed assurance, Jesus is MINE...this is MY story, this is MY song
And of course a song about God's creatures' worship-like this one.
It all joins in the beautiful tapestry of praise that our Father welcomes, along with Hillsong songs (which btw are SO varied) and organ hymns. If many styles of worship were ok for King David, they're ok for me.
@timmyrainone "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:28-30. Worshiping God is not a contest. Contemporary songs have one angle to worshiping God, the old hymns have another; to call one better than another is a claim not founded on righteousness, but arrogance. Let's build up the Church, not create divisions.
I believe...if every...single...person...in the world were truthfully told growing up, "There is a G-d, He made u, He loves u, He died for u, He wants joy in your life, He has a plan for your life, & u ought 2 love others as yourself," I'm sure the world would have all the "peace" & "prosperity" it's been asking for all the time.
@timmyrainone Completely disagree. This is an amazing song and I respect a lot of the old Hymns but I just went to a Hillsong United concert and God was present in a way that I haven't felt in a long time!
@flysupertomcat1 You don't need to be have a concert to 100,000 people to have a profound impact. That seems so selfish and manufactured. People who are in music who want to aspire to that size of performances need evaluate their priorities and focus on the reason they are doing this.
@canucktheclown Who said that had to happen in order for God to have a profound impact? Whose fault is it that people enjoy their worship? Everyone has their preferences and as long as they are glorifying God then they are not wrong. You are not anyone to be criticizing a person's heart or intentions when they worship, focus on the condition of your own heart and let God decide if a person's worship is "manufactured and selfish". Legalism is arguably what's most wrong with the church today.
@flysupertomcat1 If someone needs to be in that type setting to have a profound impact, than let them. But a smaller setting can be have even deeper more profound impact. You don't need to be in a huge stadium with 100,00 people in order for it to happen. Some people put too much stalk in that and that's not what it should be about.
@canucktheclown Would you be against the world gathering as one to worship in song our Jesus because it might not be as profound as a smaller scale gathering? Perhaps you have yet to experience it, but there is something in singing to Jesus among thousands of voices that fills you with a spirit of unity. Imagine a multitude of heavenly hosts singing out to the Father and how moving that is.
For anyone who is looking for a biblical explanation of the gospel and salvation, I would highly recommend checking out the scribd website that is listed on my channel. The scripture references given on there make it very clear and easy to understand.
oh ya. crowder makes some great music along with another new christian band called Red Letter Hymnal. They both have awesome songs on youtube and itunes for that matter
@timmyrainone There are wonderful new songs as well such as Hillsong's Hosana, In Christ Alone, Sweetly Broken, Adonai (Paul Wilbur), Ani Shelcha (JAMM, I'm a Hebrew Christian so I include Hebrew as well as english songs), Adonai (Mia Fields), and As it is in Heaven (Mat Maher). I do not think it is right for you to pass such a judgement, when people are giving praise to our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Just because you do not like Modern praise, doesn't give you a right to judge.
@timmyrainone i think it's wrong of us to really judge songs. Who are us to judge whether they're man centered or not? You probably don't know what it took for Hillsong to write the lyrics that they have and then at the same time plan these events to usher all those who probably can't possibly bare Hymns, into a worship that they truly hope would move the audiences hearts into accepting even Hymn songs. No song is greater than the other when you sing to God.
I love this song by David Crowder. It always leaves me with a breathless feeling and it just reminds me of how beautiful I feel because I do Praise Him!!!

@daveblade56 Umm Jesus was the God man... Fully man fully God. In the Hebrew God (Yahweh or Elohim) are masculine terms and so that is why most people refer to God is 'man'. However God the Father is man but more than that... To call him just 'a man' limits his awesomeness...

It's so sad and predictable - one Christian or group of Christians cannot speak, move or sing without criticism from another so-called "brother." Focus on God and less on finding fault with the way another chooses to praise Him.
Well done version of a traditional hymn written by St. Francis of Assisi almost 800 years ago. I have no doubt most modern hymns--and the modern churches where they are sung--will be forgotten in 800 years. The churches that stand against the modern fashions will still be standing. They are the rock, the other are washed away in the tides.
The are not as many who worship God... The reason. The Bible tells us that as end of days come to light the world has began to worship what is of the earth.. Satan's world, children are not being taught as much.. What a shame as God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow... I love the holy trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit... God is so gracious and forgiving ... We are such sinners... I pray everyday for my sins to be forgiven and I know he is always there to forgive me... God Bless

The lyrics of the traditional hymns have forever touched me with their deep theological messages and rich poetry. How can one compare "O, for a thousand tongues to sing!" with "I thank you, thank you, Lord." The two are in different worlds all together.
do you agree with me it would be better if it didn't have this Annoying Christmas Tune beat? I adore DCB and the hymn version of this song, but I'm just not sure about this rendition
I don't agree with that, i believe all songs written to praise God are indeed centered around Him. When it comes to more modern songs they aren't as theological but rather they work with peoples emotions, we live in a world that people are more willing to wrap their hearts around something rather than their heads. I do love hymns and they hold a special place in my heart when it comes to artistry of words, but i can also very much feel an emotional connection to a modern song.
I also find many of the old hymns beautiful for the theology in their lyrics. Yet, there are some new new songs that share this characteristic as well. My channel has some more classic hymns sung by contemporary artists.
All I can say is "Simply Beautiful." Thank you.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
