  • So nostalgic.......love it. x Govan born and bred.

  • Great video GalGael - thanks for that.

Chegster - was never a land of material plenty, but I am proud to cumfae Govan. It will only ever be as it ever was - what it's people make it.

  • Thank You GalGael. I was born and bred in Govan, in a bygone era when the ships came and went. I lived opposite the dry docks where ships would be in for repairs and went to sleep at night with the flash of the welders playing on my bedroom ceiling. Now in New Zealand this brought back happy childhood memories.

  • Yes , I used to see people putting coins on the track to see them get flattened. I did it with a pound note- it wasn't the same.

  • Thanks for the memories.

I remember placing 3 inch nails on tram line so the would be flattened and could be used in our Bow and arrows.

Fell in the pond several times. Once went swimming and cut my hand on broken bottle. Had to go to SGH. Because I held onto the tram rail by the time I got there the bandage was crimson. Nurse rushed me to doctor. She obviously thought my hand was hanging off.

Intend to post some memories of Govan when I learn how to do so. Any help appreciated.

  • shit hole then, shit hole now ! nothing much has changed then !

  • This was excellent. Great editing and music too.
