  • OMS TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!

  • So True.

  • no subtitles? i didnt hear a word that girl was saying spitting so fast!

  • "We are internally afraid of what's real... forgetting that physical contact is more important than our number of contacts." REALEST shit ever. I tell ppl my age this all of the damn time, but no one listens.

  • I bet she's a social media whore like me lol Having all the networks lol

  • She deep, I felt that!

  • We let technology replace the place that people r suppose to feel.

  • Really love the msg she send

  • this is so fucking true cuz now i hate facebook becuz theirs some crazy ass shit out there.itt scares me to what might happen to people.:[

  • i jus shared this to facebook. -___- does that defeat tha whole purpose of this video lol.

  • Awww, I met her a couple years ago in Chicago after performing some of her other dope poetry. Super sweet person, great energy :0)

  • wait... whats myspace??

  • soo true,,,,

  • Haven't been on MySpace for eleven months. Looking forwards to saying the same about Facebook. You Tube still works for me. Twitter, forget it!

  • The message is deeply true, and I don't mean to get off-topic, but can somebody tell me what hairstyle that is? It's AH-mazing!! :D

  • ... Facebook.

  • of chain-mail if i dnt send to five plp i wont find my true love type shit

  • Ah! So true, so true.

  • Baby Girl is hella RAW..!!

  • i like this alot

  • the people who disliked this were too busy updating their facebook accounts to realize that they had clicked the wrong button.

  • @PeaceLoveTreesMusic wow how clever

  • IVE WATCHED THIS LIKE 34 TIMES

  • wow!

  • Tell facebook we need our faces back. Best line in this. It is a great poem though

  • good job

  • I've been listening to def poetry for the past 2 hours now!

  • @KayLyda I've also been doing that too. Once you actually start to listen it really gets to you. I luv listening to the poets speak about real issues because it makes you think. Anyways this gurl was dope, although barely anyone uses myspace anymore unless you're an artist cus most people are on facebook. She put the most emphasis on Myspace when its actually facebook thats getting all the hype. Kind of ironic when you think about it.

  • @Bp906 thats only because this poem is old, it was uploaded in 2001

  • @KayLyda past 4 days for me xD

  • @KayLyda same here girl -.- lol lol

  • 18 to what power

  • LOVE IT!

  • I dont understand why there is always that person that doesn't like the poem i dont get it ? Either way i love it

  • Yessss mama..I feel ya flow..

  • Lovee this

  • damn, i think i got a notification.

    ikid i kid

  • i didn't think it was good. that is all

  • the fact this poem was on TV, is now on you tube, and has a bunch of lame comments is almost hipster level irony

  • She's speaking the truth! Go with you girl!

  • I kind of disagree with her. Technology hasnt "replaced" anything. I still see my friends face to face, jus cos we organise it over facebook doesnt make any difference. And as for ppl who have loads of friends on their list who they dont actually know, they are losers, and have always existed.

  • i wish their was a love button... technology has completely taken over. their are going to be more credit card theifs because of the use of "purchasing things online"...

  • slow down bitch i feel like your giving me a lecture that i dont want to here but its all good

  • Technology will take over, we are to blame, btw someone sent me this video link on facebook and I'm commenting from my I-phone. Like most of y'all

  • F myspace F facebook F twitter F yahoo F aim F gmail F msn F youtube nononono not youtube .... lol true poem

  • Comment removed

  • this is my first time seeing this poem...i love it, you go girl.

  • hell yes you go girl so glad you said it i have been thinking the same things

we are losing the physical 4 real

  • This poem was hella decent..But those shoes was TRASH BOAA! Lmao

  • And THIS, is our problem. We can't deal with the face to face so we let technology replace the space that people are supposed to fill. We are internally araid of what's real. Weve forgotten that physical contact is more important than our number of contacts, so we settle for convinence..

  • no one could have said it better.. "we are internally afraid of whats real.. and we have forgotten that physical contact is more important than our number of contacts, so we settle, for convenience.. . . we let public access.. get excess.. even if its at our privacy's expense..."

  • and I mean it's good to keep in touch but I can do that from a distance. For instinct, I will call you when I get home after nine so I won't waste my day time minutes. Yeah to a point I do it too, but sometimes you gotta say F*CK MYSPACE cause I need my space and tell facebook I want my face back. amen

  • Daaaaaamn.

Lets face it, we are internally afraid of what is real and we've forgotten that physical contact is more important than our number of contacts; so we settle for convenience. We let public access get excess even if it's at our privacy's expense.'

  • do u mind if i put this on my facebook :P

  • ay i feel her on that chain mail stuff!!

  • @anna63rubio i feel you cuz i use a rope and two paper cups to call people rather then use the phone... i ride my horse rather then use a car and if it aint for sun light there's no light inside my house fuck electricity lol lol

  • should be a poem about facebook now...haha

  • so tru.

  • fuck myspace cause i need my space and facebook i need my face back!! she speaks truth!!

  • How ironic. I just posted this video on facebook and myspace.

  • we cant deal with the face to face so we let technology replace the space that people are suppose to fill...lets face it

  • @alysiataylor

or maybe a man's words are worth more than his presence and some of us just like to be connected when, say, they're snowed in.

  • Oh so true... Text me when you get this ;).

  • This Poem Is The Truth Spoken

  • I love this poem

  • cool

  • that is wat's up

  • whats her name

  • go girl good job and that the truth listen

  • deep

  • go on girl;

she aint said nothin but the truth

  • is actually prose poetry, i dont have always have to ryhme.

  • Thats real.

  • thats whats up.i see im not alone in 'this thought.'

  • hold up she 18?? And she says Fuck Myspace?? woow SHE ROCZ!

  • why does she remind me of a female shihan?

  • 4 Real ..!!!

  • dope

  • i wrote somthn just like this, much respect mah.

  • go ahead (ahead)

  • coulnt b said any better-straigh4wd.i totally agree and like ladymuziklover said : 'tell myspace i want my space back and tell facebook to give my face back....amen to that!' is all i could say (or agree with in this case).

  • i love the poem

    ...and the hair (fierce)

  • WORD!

  • tell myspace i want my space back and tell facebook to give me my face back...

    amen 2 that!

  • MMmmmmm *snaps*

  • word

  • She definitely did a good job, but she has to be one of the oldest 18 year olds that i've ever seen. But no disrepect, because she is beautiful, its just an observation.

  • anyone who is hatin should stop. i gurantee half the people on youtube have facebook, twitter, myspace what ever. i dont think fb nor myspace have replace physical contact. people have decided to eliminate physical contact with others. fb and myspace is really a popularity contest. i started deleting people if i didnt know them. its like a 90% chance we wont ever meet in life...so y shuld i have u as an internet friend

  • I like this!

  • Solid

  • lol

  • That was indeed really great. BUT. What about my friends in another city, my relatives in another country? I can skype them in 2 seconds, post pics in a couple of minutes, save 3 weeks of air mail and lots of time off of trying to find the moment in two sets of busy lives to inconvenience them with my phone call. This is *easier*. This is *faster*. This is right here, right now, and I have my connection. Yeah, there's downsides, but I appreciate being to keep in touch for free. So, Internet, TY.

  • she's not talking about long distance

what she's saying is that we have let go of the physical because online is so much faster

and we are allowing privacy to be exploited at our own expense.

  • AFREAD OF WHATS REAL!-true true

  • LOL, "tell facebook i want my face back."

  • that was really good, but (craantport) what does that have to do with anything?

  • Best Yet

  • i like

  • that was hott..i like her shoes

  • makes me want to delete my myspace..hahaha.lol.on the real though that was tight..

  • this was cool ya, but face it. the technologies are only getting more and more advanced. and everyone is obsessing over it. including me. im addicted to twitter and myspace, and definatly youtube. i think that people just need to stop trying to fight it. im excited to see whats going to happen in the future with all of the advanced technologies, and to how far it can go.

    [follow me on twitter @mellisalamay]

  • gurl u killed it!!!! i dont kno what else 2 say but that wuz off tha chain!! I LUVED IT ~MISS901STAR

  • watta speachh...how did she remember everything..lol

  • Now I don't feel bad that I don't use facebook, my space, or twitter, lol.

My friends were looking at me like I'm out of the loop when they know good and well all they have to do to contact me is DIAL MY NUMBER!

  • That was fire !!!!!!!!!!!! she hot too

  • It is said that do to the economic down turn, we all are going to suffer. It's been as least one year and there is no end in sight.

That's the thing now, snapping on the bus, in their car or just walking down the street. So to stay away form getting my head knocked off, I don't go out much. Even going to the grocery store. The other day while I was at the store a young man ran over my foot with his shopping cart. Instead of excusing himself, he wanted to kick my butt.

  • Real talk. Technology takes away the intimacy of a lof of things, not just communicating. I'm watching this video online right now, but imagine how much more powerful it would be in person.

As a a dancer, I see many kids logging onto youtube and learning things off videos they watch; but then you miss out on having experienced it from the choreographer, the emotion behind it.

No piece of technology (as of now) can compare to physical contact.

  • one of the best poems i have heard

  • so true!

  • Well... this, is dope

  • lol well i just recently replaced my cell phone with a house phone and my wireless internet with house internet. i felt good viewing this she crazy

and we mad our speech aint free lol

  • "Fuck MySpace 'cuz I need my space..."

"Physical contact is more important than our number of contacts..."

Loved those two lines!!!! I am guilty of having a MySpace account though!! LoL

  • physical contact is more important than our number of contacts... i like that

  • i feel partially hypocritically because i sat here and agreed with everything she said.. yet i was watching it here on youtube.

    doesnt exactly help the cause.

    so true though.

  • Fuck Myspace Cuz i Need My space, Tell Facebook to gimme Muh Face Back!!

  • She got that chain mail shit right on. I be like, "damn, my momma gon' die?"

  • SPOKEN TRUTH!!

  • This is SOOOOO true, but it is worse than what this astute 18 year old even related. We are no longer LIVING in the moment... the moment of concentrating in class listening to the teacher and partaking in instruction as the damn phone or mp3 payer is more important; the moment of concentrating on the friends you are with or the movie you are seeing are gone...as the damn phone or mp3 player is more important. We are so "plugged in" , we are not living... Fahrenheit 451 is just about here~

  • phxck myspace cuhz i need my space &d tell facebook i want my face baqk

  • Word.

  • so tru

  • This is some deep stuff. for her to be 18 and can see this facebook, myspace shit it's real. she's wise beyond her years!!!

keep up the good work. AND THIS POEM IS SO TRUE!!!

  • chek out "bnv western regionals"

  • Damn Stright, Unplug and reach out and touch someone.

  • give me the time and place nd ima come see you ^^

  • That was so good and soooo true!
