I'm guessing that the light bulb represents the light or day in this case and the dark room is night or dark so dark kills the day. That's what I thought.

I think that it's supposed to shine a light on who she really is, because I believe somewhere in there she says that the other person may think her to be something, but really if they allowed the light to shine on who she really is rather than allowing their misconceptions (the night) to cover who she is up.

Or at least that's what I think : ) I dunno : )

The lightbulb I believe, is supposed to be the day, and the darkness that envelops her is supposed to be the night. When she has the lightbulb, it's supposed to represent who she really is, and she's trying to tell someone that they need to listen to who she really is rather than have misconceptions (the night) cover that up.
