@SolidCodec When I make a phone call with my Google Voice number from the Google Voice webpage I choose either my cell phone or my landline phone to be called to make the connection. This way the caller will see my Google Voice number as my Caller ID.

I have not done this yet, but I could use Google Chat in my Google Email page. and that would use my Webcam or PC hardware (microphone and speakers) for the audio connections.

@gullindor I think that it will take Google ages to roll this out to other countries. Just imagine, there are costs to be paid.

For instance, I have a DECT/SKYPE phone that plugs into my landline and my router so it works all over the house whether my computer is on or off.

It costs me (paid annually) UK£1.87 a month for all my landline calls.

Even if Skype makes a 100% profit, that is still 93.5 pennies a month. Multiply this by several million people and it adds up.
