@djjoaowave true, more active, but these guys have cleaner technique and show more power and conviction in their strikes. European style looks faster, but weaker. To each his own.
This two fighters are very, very good. It does'nt matters witch style you decide to practice. There are no better style, but best fighter. Lyoto Machida, like myself, it's from Shotokan, and has no defeat, so far, in the UFC. But also kyokushin has very strong fighters in K1 and UFC.
They look like Goju fighters...very aggressive and quick reactions. Kyokushin fighters use very limited techniques and don't move as well as these guys.
these guys fight very well no doubt about it...but what did u mean with "kyokushin uses limited techniques"???? what about knees, kaitans, and all the kicks this guys dont use (mae geri, gedan mawashi, mae keage, etc...) They are all used in kyokushin A LOT!. Have u heard about ashihara karate? it comes from kyukushin and it allows elbows, knees, thai clinch, throws, etc... Points kumite is a lot more limited than full contact karate.
Hmm...that was 4 months ago...I think what I meant was that even though kyokushin people use lots of kicks, they appear to limit themselves because they rarely if ever use the hands to strike at the face and head....so if confronted in a real life situation, they might possibly neglect punching in this area. Yes, point matches really are very limited....but they don't hurt as bad either...
I've trained traditional japanese Karate and Kyokushinkai, just to see the differences. I would like to say, that the most important thing is to train with the good teacher. Then to be serious about your art. And then comparing both styles is useless.

Hands are down, Stances are too wide, and distance are too far. Not very powerful like we do in Kyokushin Kai. Its OK.....but learn to be able to take full contact.
Learn to be able to take a shot in the face first... OK, I'm not bashing, Kyokushin is good but so is Shotokan. You've got your kumite and we've got ours. Yours is about durability, ours is about speed and precision. It's not like one is right and the other is wrong. They're just different.
umm kyukoshin is very limited...they repeat the same moves...wado-ryu is good..goju-ryu is good...but i suggest u learn trational goju..the begining of karate all looks similar..advanced forms is what truly make the styles unique.so look at different styles and see what u would be comfortable with and research good instructors in your area. ous!
That trip was bad ass! I hope that I can reach this level. I am just begining to learn Karate. Does anyone recomend any styles? I was thinking either Goju-ryu or Shotokan.
I recommand you a good instructors. You can get really good instructors in shotokan, goju-ryu, wado-ryu, shito-ryu, kyokushin, etc. You can also get bullshit in all these styles. And I never saw wado-ryu win a race against shotokan. It's the karateka who's fast, not the style.
even sum offer cums, it's quite difficult for fighters from JKA Japan to fight in such rings. cuz in Japan, JKA is supported by the government. so difficult for them to fight in professesional show business-type fields (ring).
Instead you can enjoy Lyoto and Shinzo in UFC though
very good clips their mate,i pratice traditional shotokan myself and that is the buisness, true shotokan is very powerfull when one can apply themselves to the system, this guys a perfect example of how its really done, nice vid,,,,,,

yeah take wado ryu because this guy here can only be beaten by kyokushin people, he could kill kobayashi and ogata

Ogata's first strike comes, if you watch, when Kobayashi just drops his guard and awareness for a moment, and Ogata dashes in. Boom!
