I hear influences of bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes and other progressive rock bands but brough on the more "heavy" side. I just went on wikipedia and read about progressive metal and there's a fact that says: " Dream Theater took elements of progressive rock groups [...] and merged them with heavy metal styles associated with bands like Judas Priest and Black Sabbath[...]
