i have heard control telling the same thing to planes when i was training for my CPL i was actually giving alot of effort to my radio calls since i know i have a weird accent , still sometimes controller can be an asshole ...in this case its the pilot ....yeah there are alot of asshole pilots too

@alexalvesjr I'm pretty sure english is standard ATC control in all nations, at least in North America and Western Europe, which covers most of the nations that matter. It just makes sense to have a standardized language when the fate of a jumbo jet depends on it

The first rotocraft were flying in France (Cornu, Oehmichen), Spain (Cierva) and Germany (Fokke Wulf), long before Sikorsky (notably a Russian-born, -educated and -trained immigrant!) perfected it in the U.S., having immigrated in 1919 and founding his company in 1923 (making it obvious were he got his skill set from). I could go on talking about the T-90 or the Chinese LCS', but you wouldn't understand to being with.

@kkazphx Sikorsky, a foreign born American, did invent the first practical single main rotor helicopter, the VS-300. The many types of rotorcraft which came before it were gyrocopters with multiple rotors. So whether an American or a Frenchman invented the helicopter is a complicated issue depending on how one defines the characteristics of the helicopter.

A mate of mine flying out of JFK told me they told them to ''Slam Dunk 140''. He told him to speak English! Sorry but that's why I'm not a fan of many US ATC controllers but at the end of the day our lives are half in their hands so you gotta' respect them and their job. Talking properly is KEY though.
