Once upon a time, back when I had first started playing TF2, I got my first hat. It was the usual Ghastly Gibus from killing another player wearing one. Sure, it was shitty, but I was pretty excited. I thought to myself, "LOLOL I WANNA PAINT MY HAT BECAUSE I ARE KEWL :D," so I went to a trade server. I had a few scrap for some low-tier paint. "Buying paint," I called. After obtaining a WHITE PAINT for no more then 1 scrap + 1 weapon, I did the unthinkable. I painted my Gibus with it :D

Remember guys, Strange Shotgun is a riot. It's for 4 classes, THAT'S AWESOME, because it counts all of their kills combined. i have a strange shotgun, i gave my purple painted standard demoman pimp hat for it, and i'd say i was happy with the deal, even if i scammed myself, the guy had no idea what he was doing and i was desperate, that often leads to awkward trades when i'm desperate.

@GourmetWiller duped hats are hats that have either been crafted by the owner, non-clean (is notcraftable or(and)is not tradeable but can also be glitched to be duplicated. You'll tell by the color of it if its glitched. Another tip, always read the descrpition of the item, if not ypu might think hes trading a vintage but really its some crappy version of it, also it will show you if its crafted.

@TheDalokhosBar Scrapbanking is a great way. It means you craft your weapons into scraps and then you trade those scraps for 2 random weapons each. Then you sell those weapons for 1 scrap each. Then you will slowly make profit.
