@yotabomber86 I was thrill to set one up for my GTS until I realized the common issues Celicas are having with regards to CEL when dealing with aftermarket intakes.
@boipinoi604 i wouldnt worry as long as you can still get an inspection sticker without problems and you put a bypass valve or hydrosheild (or both) AND make sure you have the stock inner fender in place, mine fell off and proved to be a problem without it, even with the hydrosheild, the car didnt hydrolock (cuz of the sheild) but the sheild was wet enuff to keep enuff air getting in to keep the motor running.
@yotabomber86 Well my car is aircared till 2012 so I guess i wont be worried until then.. but then again i better be sure it's fixable for the inspection
ive drivin in heavy rain with no problems AFTER i put the hydrosheild on. before i put it on it would be soaked even in a light rain over 20 miles. i have now relocated it in front of the front drivers tire behind the fog light.
@boipinoi604 yea def a difference from stock, the car goes easier from a stop, taking less throttle annd wanting to go along more. plus it sounds sick
@boipinoi604 its fine with the stock plastic splash gaurd there, i also duct taped the holes in the plastic so the tire wont throw water in and i have the hydro sheild on as well. recently the plastic gaurd fell off on the interstate and the car died the other day when it rained, looks like im changin the oil and clearing out the top end of any water before anything bad happens! i dont want to hydrolock the motor!
i know u get power from the intake but does the hydroshield work, also did the hydroshield affect the performance of the intake. I know the hydroshield covers the filter and does it reduce the amount of airflow resulting in less HP gain?
the hydrosheild works great! keeps the filter claen and dry in all conditions! just dont want to submerge the cone which is kind of a no brainer! and you feel no difference in power loss, like it aint even there! best 30 bux i spent!
its not turbo, just a CAI N/A. the gauges are voltage and oil pressure. i plan on a turbo kit after a motor/tranny rebuild, but im kinda broke right now. with 160k on the motor and tranny, a turbo wouldnt be too smart. the intake sounds amazing in person, same with the exhaust, but i used my phone to take thes vids, and my phone sux.
no check engine problem?

@boipinoi604 , yea the CEL is on, but there is a mod you can do to fix it, i didnt bother cuz my mechanic always gives me a sticker.

i cant relocate mine, its literally one pipe, so did u home make urs? and y would u move it after u put on the hydroshield?

mine is a cold air not short ram, mine is 2 peices with a rubber coupling so i can twist the bottom how i want it. got it on ebay for 40 bux lol.

i relocated it because i live on dirt roads and didnt want to bottom out on it, otherwise it was better down underneath.

what material is yours made of????
sergsrt8 2 years ago
the intake tube is 2 3/4 aluminum tubing and the hydrosheild is like a polyester or fine plastic of some sort.
