The Gulf of Mexico BP oil spill is an environmental end of day’s bomb if the oil contains substantial iron and the surface water shows an increase in acidity. The acidification of the oceans indicates that the water is capturing atmospheric carbon and produces some carbonic acid. The air interface over a strong carbon sink would even slightly burn the eyes . A elite geologist John Martin stated in a speech “give me a tanker of Iron and I will cause the next ice age”.
Off-shore Oil-rig drilling is an anti-environmental hazard, and 'fossil-fuel' is a misnomer, --for oil is NOT limited, is actually abioticly formed from Magma instead of organic-fossil origin as thought. Accordingly, the ruthless primitive-minded anti-social jewZionist-mafia wanna-be NWO-Kings ('robber-barons') Rockfeller/Rothschild et'al have done their best to misinform we-the-sheeple; --yet electricar is now a reality, thus their new criminal-monopoly is toxic/Pharm.-drugs...
I have been around that day! SAD! But that+s the part of our life! I am still in the business! Persian gulf! All the best to the all oil workers all around the planet! God bless you all!
saftey on all the rigs is better,as iam a current worker in the north sea,i thank the families for there sacrifice, but lets not slip or we now what can happen!
my father helped build piper alpha at mcdermotts yard at ardersier, and in 1990 i helped build it's replacement piper bravo.R.I.P we will remember them.
...next thing was fingers pointing at the production team (this comment not from me - I heard from a friend who was on neighbouring platform on that day)
I was on the Claymore Alpha at the time, had worked previously on the Piper as a Crane Operator but got transferred between rigs about 2 weeks before this happened.
I remember waking up and watching the fire from the deck of the Clay, a good 20 miles away.

This is history, and the actual date of this tragedy should be shown in title.
The good side is that Offshore safety and procedures vastly improved as a result of this tragedy.iam x SLB.

I am process engineer for the biggest north sea operator, and I really feel for them and their families.
The best way to honor them for us:
Safety First
Never break procedure
Check everything, and be alert of variations.
R.I.P. to all of them.

A lot of good men died on that thing.

Sorry was not an oil rig, but a fixed installation jacket platform.
Nikkosidcup 4 years ago
Does it really matter what kind of installation/rig it was? Its the tragedy that is relevant.
