Can't get enough of your playing, Tim. I will have to sit down one day and jam to or transcribe your videoes. Love it. Thanks for sharing, and all the best to you.
@Eulanugent yeah indeed the bridge is bad i recplaced it with a tonepro (they make bridges for Gibson) bridge and the problem is gone im not sure if the tailpiece is bad but i will replace it for a Bigsby ! otherwise a great guitar for blues , rockabilly and that kind of music !
@telebasher the guitar seems pretty versatile, but how does strumming work? other eastwood guitars seem to favor a more laidback approach, but in a more rock or heavy blues oriented setting, does it let you cut loose? beyond that the lighter 50s, blues, and jazz all seem to work. whats your take?
hello..i been stalking around for weeks now on this guitar..u seem highly inteligent on guitars..is this guitar worth the 800 bucks STANDARD. pls respond u may be my final reason of purchase
If this guitar meets your needs in terms of sound and style, I'd say it is a very good purchase regarding value/price. I upgraded it to met my needs but you might not need to.
Wow, it's a real pleasure to hear you play Tim, thanks for sharing this. I'm very temped to get one of these little guitars, but I know it woun't sound so good in my hands!
great tone! especially when you play the blues... it doesn't sound like strat or tele sound so it has its own sound.... great playing too! is it a hollowbody or semi-hollow?
i think its impossible to find one in my hometown... hahaha *sigh
I have tested this guitar, and I'm impressed by the look, the tailpiece, bridge and knobs are really detailed nice. The neck plays also very well, I'm considering buying it. I was wondering, do you play with the standard height of the bridge, because the strings were really close to the neck, and were really buzzing..
I love finding a video on youtube and finding a person demoing a guitar who can really play well! I'm glad this isn't to a backing a track or anything else like that. Good playing and good tone!
WOW! Great playing and demo of the Tux (my favourite on youtube)... Love your "jump blues" style... Any dvd's or books you would rec trying out to learn this style? Thanks again, and take care!
Truly unique-sounding geetar. I'm digging the way you transition between the styles, especially the bluegrass finger picking. Good stuff man. I've fallen in love with the toneful Ethos pedal. Got the Blues Jr. Just need the Ethos. ;-)
i always find it hard to judge the sound of a guitar on youtube, mainly because i find that everyone mic's their amps differently, so I've sorted of resorted to watching how much the player enjoys playing the guitar, and then judging it based on that. you look like you're quite into it and enjoying the sound, especially on the jump blues stuff. good video, great playing.
this sounded very good..these are the real guitars that made the blues. the gibson archtops and brandnew goldtop les paul model and fender telecasters of the day were high end guitars only pro country & jazz players had those.these were cheap and could be ordered from a catalog it was were that were played on the records were all love
I have the same guitar but it was never lucky enough to be played by someone of your caliber. How does one learn to play in the style that starts 2.24? What is that even? Jazz? Can you provide any pointers? Thanks a lot!
just the saddles, start with new blank saddles and cut them to taste. Any repair guy should have them The tail piece was just laying around and it worked.
Awesome demo, talked with Mike Robinson at NAMM a few years ago and he said the Tuxedo was his favorite out of all of their guitars, sounds pretty awesome and I've heard those pickups are super hot!
I've owned 3 Eastwoods and all 3 of them were great guitars. The P-90 Special and H44 Stratotone were the standouts, loved them both but don't own any anymore, would definitely recommend them to anyone.
Very nice playing. I like all the styles you use in this demo. I'll bet this guitar would sound even better through a nice tweed amp.

Depends. If you like working on guitars-this one needs work right out of the box. Frets are great, intonation great.
Everything he replaced-NEEDS TO BE DONE. I just rec'd mine today.
Pickguard has to go-it's in the way of high E.
Cheap bridge buzzes no matter what you do. Replacement solves problem.
And the tailpiece is like a really bad last minute install. Like a ski-jump.
Needs to be an inch or two shorter.
Pick-ups and neck are sick!
Just needs some upgrades-2 bad for $800

Great playing! I love the Tuxedo. I like your idea of a shorter tail piece, too.
I love the sunburst, but the copper is pretty gorgeous, too.

What saddles did you use. I'd like to do the same. Thx.

@itsonlyrcknroll I'm not sure, they were just left over from a previous guitar. but they seem to be standard tune-o-matic type brass saddles

Lovely woody tone - can you get these guitars in the UK?
Tbonetardis 2 years ago
I don't know if they are available in the UK sorry. I do see them on Ebay from time to time so you might be able to snag one that way.

@Tbonetardis They ship worldwide, I'm pretty sure.

Hey Tim,
Did you change out the whole bridge or just the saddles? If just the saddles - where did you get them?
I just got a black lefty and I agree with you totally on the mods you did. I wanna do the same.
Thanks in advance - nice playing too.
