You're right he doesn't look black, I wonder if that's really how the author travelled in the south to write his book, if he did, then I find his book a bt hard to believe
@tracyblogger that's pretty much what the real guy looked like.. though he shaved his head because he had naturally straight hair.. He just tanned a lot and used vitiligo medicine to overproduce melanin. That's kind of the point though, it was so racist back then a white guy with dark skin was treated just as bad.. I mean look at rosa parks, she looks hispanic or white..
@tracyblogger you have to remeber when this was made because it all most did not get made at all. And i think that James Whitmore did a great job in this role, just try to remeber why it was made.
Poor casting using James Whitmore. Not that he wasn't an ok actor, but not convincing in this role. I wonder who else tried out for the part?
