I happened upon this 12" while rifling through a bin of used records as i waited for my brother to wrap up his finals at Rutgers University, winter of 92. Remained a personal favourite ever since. Both sides are brilliant. Anna Haigh's deadpan delivery, Katherine Wood's soulful wails, Pete Heller's guitar solo --

QUESTION: Anyone know which came first, the solo riff on Substance or the near carbon-copy riff midway of Flowered Up's "Weekender/Weatherall's Weekender"???

Yes she was with Lee Whitlock, that was a good video. I think many of us can relate to it.

I believe Anna Haigh also did vocals on "Egg Rush" on Flowered Up's "Life With Brian" LP and "It's On" EP. Another top tune.
