Note to whomever has put this series together: There is no such thing as an 'ex-addict'. Either on is actively maintaining recovery or one is actively using. The disease is forever. And no mind altering substances -- whatsoever -- can be used if one is to remain sober.
If anyone is having a drug problem please just ask your father in heaven, Jesus Christ for help to overcome your problem...he is your loving father and wants to help you with any problems you are having...call out the name Jesus Christ and ask him for forgiveness for the things you have done wrong in your life and that your willing to forgive everyone who has done you wrong in your life, tell him you would be willing to invite him into your life and accept him as your savour so he can help you
@tario26 i have been on methadone for 12 yrs at 115mg daily,,i will try asking jesus for help because ive tried everything else an now im trying to reduce as fast as posable!! man its hard!
very well said and for you others who want detox plz don't go for the suboxone way for big time addicts it will fuck your head up like it did for me you will have grand mal seizures with in 4 days then you will forget half of your life only 4 you bubble gumers who use h that you have to wonder if your even high frm what u r using will it do any good , main point : do not use suboxone it's dangerous my best friend is dead frm it do 2 the seizures it brings on , i know i been there -did that !

You have friends that are heroin addicts, well i am one. So i'd say im more creditable to speak on such terms than you are. BTW: I was 18 days clean when i wrote the first comment. I'm now 5 months. I know the constant battle of getting on and off - So there is no need for someone who isn't an addict to tell me what it is or isn't like. Thank you very much
@Johnthenothing Thank you for sharing your story....drugs and alcohol are addictions that the addict can't control.....this is why it's just good to stay away from drugs because, you never know which hit you might take that will influence you to become a junkie.

It should be illegal for ALL states to not hire someone because of their criminal past. You defeated a very hard drug and you're getting you're life together. You shouldn't have to worry about finding a job after doing something so powerful.
Like my brother was a heroin junkhead and always stealing from me to buy his dope. He even tried to pimp me to some asshole friend for dope. I got sick and tired of his bullshit and paid off one of his junkie dealer friends for a hot shot. I left it around the house and he disappeared. I never saw him again.

@emtildeath thank you, since this message i went to my local T.P ( turning point) clinic. I have made huge changes in my life. But still feel so alone. I tried N/A and it was like some weird cult. I have made big steps! But as you know life is crap! i was doing real good and then i had to have my cat and dog put sleep on the same day!!!! I did heroin and felt shit ever since!!!! it really did nothing 4 me but, i feal like scum right now!!!!!

@d9andy992 iv been on methadone for 4 years and im slowly comming off it.
im doing it slowly by dropping 5mgs a month....its alot easier on the mind and body to go slow.
because im doing it slowly, my body doesnt notice it.
it will take me a year but its better than staying on it or comming off and relapsing.
you just gota think of it as a path you have to walk down.
I was only on 80mgs....your dose is high so i wouldnt do it fast man.

@d9andy992 ever try subutex or suboxone? it helps a lot of people. I think its easier to slowly decrease the dosage than methadone is.
