To answer your question about the gedo statue, I'm not certain, but they weren't simply placing the bijuu inside the gedo statue, they were extracting the bijuu from the jinchuriki, that is what they spent 3 days doing, so that they could use the bijuus power, which is what was done.

In response to the statue and the tailed-beasts. i think the 3-days refers to them being extracted from a host. since they're nothing but pure chakra it should be easy to manipulate them back into the statue, right? and also, before tobi's moon-eye plan, it was assumed that the original goal of the akatsuki was to use the beast to release them onto villages so that they could be defeated "saved" by paying off the akatsuki. (i'm not sure were i saw that theory, but i'm pretty sure its one of them

Just my opinion but most likely the Gedo statue was probably just a carrying case for the other Biju. Tobi knows that Naruto won't go down easily and is trying to wear him down as much as possible before Sasuke gets there. After he and Sasuke box it out, Tobi will take Kurama/Nine-Tails (Naruto will survive the extraction just like his mother) and Eight Tails and resurrect the Ten-Tails. THAT'S the battle I wanna see. Naruto vs Ten-Tails Jinchuuriki Tobi. Who the hell IS Tobi anyway?!!!!

Yeah, Naruto is half Uzumaki. At least you acknowledged that. I suppose something like that isn't entirely impossible. It's just that I can't picture the real Madara, allying himself with someone outside of his own clan.

Their primary goal is to cast Mugen Tsukuyomi, so it'd be rather strange for an Uzumaki hybrid to carry this out. Not only that, but we know that Tobi is a DNA collector. He could easily have Uzumaki cells, which could've been stolen at some point.

There could be many scenario's to this. After all, the Kyubi did not specifically label Tobi as Madara. He just shouts.."You..!" So, either he assumed it was Madara taking control of him, or Tobi could be someone entirely different that the Kyubi knows.

He's lived ever since the Sage's era. Who's to say he didn't recognize the Sage's chakra? We don't even know who Tobi is yet. If we get a panel of the Kyubi actually examining Tobi's chakra, we may get answers.
