I must have lucked into a good bottling. Just this on 1/17/10 and quite happy with it. Never had the legend, but I don't know if I'd like a sweeter expression of this whisky. Perfect neat. For haha's I mixed it with Noilly vermouth and it made a phenomenol Manhattan. As Lephroaig can be a bit smokey for me the day after, this quenches my thirst for an Isla. Found it smokier than Talisker & caol, but each cask is different. There's also something that reminds me of Macallan 10 here at first sip.
Been awhile since I had B12, until tonight while viewing your tasting here. Let it rest for 20 mins. Floor malting is tight.. I COMPLETELY agree with you about the resting. HUGE difference. Do it, people.
I had a second dram of Caol ila 12 in my glass while watching. Now I'm actually smelling the glass, the peat sticks to the glass so nicely and I'm tipsy.

i think Bowmore legend is betetr than Bowmmore 12 and legend is only $21 and the 12 year is $42 so yea i will enjoy 2x as much good scotch

The Bowmore 12 is one of my least favorite of the Islays. I actually prefer Bowmore Legend. Not enough salt.
