Nice speech man, I am from the New Orleans scene. Technically we were the first major scene to get the strong arm of the law brought down on us. Funny how that conference you were at was held in New Orleans. One thing I would have mentioned would be the people that go there for the music only. I started in 96 and I didn't touch drugs till 2000. Think about that.
i know i fucking hate my dance seen in buffalo NY. nothing but hip hop and top 40. I have to drive 2-3 hrs just to go to a trance/house event in Toronto. you would think the Gov.. would want trance/techno clubs because they bring a lot of revenue which will make other venues come and create competition in your area which will then make the city develop and create money for the city. My prime example would be toronto again lol
Good speech! But if you dig deeper into the issue, the "war on drugs" is a simple psychological game. It's reverse psychology at it's best. It's working, because now our society is obsessed with drugs. The pharmaceutical industry is also an indicator of that. The government couldn't care less if you took ecstasy, just as long as your focus isn't on anything *truly* important.
