  • firefox did not find the server because it crashed...chrome ftw!

  • downvoted because you guys got rid of it

  • sa ana nga case, advance ang gmail, naa siyay offline?

  • Offline Gmail ? How is that.

  • 0:16 Why they use firefox and not chrome?

  • @HSCNFS Yeah, how dare Google provide an OPTIONAL way for you to increase your email's security

  • Doesn't work for Google Chrome OS

  • still it needs an internet connection! if you cant get internet you wont receive shit offline. another pretentious advert trying to confuse customers

  • Does it work with Firefox 4?

  • @arenasjj it doest work with firefox or ie9. They stopped the project since html5 is in the market.

  • hi

  • Thanks from Ali hossain , Bangladesh.

  • what happen with gmail offline in chome 12?

  • my gmail crashes all the time when my internet is not down

  • Ûhm_âný_gÙys_wÀÑt_tÖ_chat_wÏth_mé

  • How to play snake on youtube

    1. pause the video

    2. hold the left arrow key for 3 seconds, then press the up key

    3. enjoy a game of snake

    thumbs up if it worked

TIP: search black screen for snake if you cant see it

  • soo, they made a mail client in which you can send and read e-mails offline, but they will be send when you go online. A.k.a. I send a very important mail, not realising i don't have a connection, click send and shut down my laptop. the e-mail isn't send, but I think it is. can cause a lot of problems

  • ahahah why was google using Firefox browser??

  • This is the most convincing thing I've ever seen. Make yr graphic design better and I'll love you more forever.

  • @footyskatevideo No, that's the one thing I love about gmail, it does it's job, and nothing more, and has a usable plain html format. I absolutely must disagree with you there, graphics design does what it is supposed to, if you want some flashy something or other, just install mozilla thunderbird and some themes.

  • Wait a second I forgot it was an experiment.

  • I can't find it. I looked in settings, labs and there was nothing.

  • did they just use firefox as a browser?

  • @Bealhorm No, Safari.

  • @FlyingLaptop that's funny, it says "firefox can't find the server"

still, it's google, and it doesn't use chrome?

  • thumbs up if u watched this in google chrome

  • i don't have to gmail labs can u tell me...

  • Really very thanks 2 google like these options.

This is very useful, when we r in offline...

  • Google says: use Email client, or if you are too retarded to use it, if you are so lazy to create an account in such a client, use google offline mail, doing the same as usual in your chrome... this is a revolutionary idea...

  • just use thunderbird or something

  • I wonder, now that they are leaving Gears for HTML5, how will this affect people that uses the gmail offline feature?

  • something

  • @HamalSharatan they have HTLM5

  • Yes, but they are leaving Gears for HTML5, what will happen to the people who uses Firefox with Gears to have offline access to their gmail?

  • niice

  • gmail!

  • They need to do this for their Calendar and Tasks apps for the iPhone. Sorta moot if you cant access them if you have no internet access.

  • This is probably the best feature for Gmail I've seen yet.

  • Gmail !

  • holy sh*t

i dont think that its going to work for me

    gunna give it a try

  • gmail is way more advance than hotmail and yahoo mail

  • @icool001 I think Yahoo is perfect for me.

  • @EnNexMusic I think that Yahoo is garbage and i want to change your opinions towards it because i am ignorant. Now. Use gmail or i start cutting fingers off. I can do that because Google chrome can use mouse gestures to do common commands. Can yahoo? I think not.

  • @mooman219 Google Chrome is a browser.

  • @EnNexMusic MY mistake XD. Still google chrome is better then anything yahoo

  • @mooman219 Actually, I use both of them. I use Chrome as browser, Yahoo as main e-mail, and Gmail as second e-mail.

  • @icool001 no way, Gmail has a fucked up way of storing your e-mails. It puts every e-mail in the same place and mess everything. I can't use it. Hotmail is clean and you can find your e-mails in the speed of light.

  • wow this is amazing!

now you can use the internet..without being on the internet!

  • is it free?

  • Yes it is free!!!! :)

  • ok thx

  • Still, if you're offline, you still cannot open the newly incoming mails until you find a connection that you can connect to.

  • Comment removed

  • google is god

  • Congratulations google, you have just made outlook.

    Well done.

  • Whahaha! =D

    U'r Right :P

  • Heh, yeah, I thought this'd be some ingenious way to connect to the Web without being connected to the Web, perhaps via a cell phone connected to your computer or something.

But just saving the mails for then to send them? As you said, Outlook has always been able to do this.

  • does not work yet !! I tried with FFox, but nothing.. !!

  • all that left is offline website and I'll be happy when ISP is down :))

  • if you dont already know, please dont trust sites like this, they are usually a scam only give information to google sites, and google employes will never ask for information, if the need it they already have it.

  • niiiiiiiice

  • i did not understand.

  • Tnx !

  • You're stupid.

  • You're right. What is there not to understand?

  • reinventing the wheel... I mean imap

  • Fantastic

  • This is a really cool feature but it doesnt work correct for me when I try to login into another gmail account of mine! Just wont load any other gmail account :(

  • Or we could all just use desktop clients?

  • this, combined with prism, you have your gmail as desktop apps ;)

  • Gmail has now taken the final step in becoming the Official Greatest Email Ever.

  • very nice ,good,very interesting...THANKU

  • I have a gmail account, gape premier and gape standard account all work fine. They work in Chrome, Firefox, IE and offline with Apple Mail, iPhone, pop3 and lastly pop3 to my exchange server. The system is fine, you might want to check your config.

  • It's you.

  • cool

  • Google is yet surprising me, how far will they go, omg.

I think this product will succeed, it's just a good idea, I myself don't like to use a client such as outlook, windows mail or thunderbird to manage my gmail, because of the interface. Now I am able to manage my mail offline with the same interface, and sync it when I get online, fascinating.

  • I wear google underwear and buy only google contraceptives. I eat google food and drink google beer. What i love most about google is how they track my slightest move. I love it when i take a shit on my google toilet and adsense advertises an even better stool softener. i eat, sleep, fuck, and shit google. i love it... and i love google.

  • Dude... u've just said the future of society.... shackled in the hands of GOOOGGGLLLEEE...

  • @nikechristo The Google Initiative? Are you in a small island wearing a jump suite and pressing a button ever 108 minutes?

  • @nikechristo Google saw that you moved your mouse exactly 24,262,985,910,858,136,340.03469968960 pixels over the time you've been on the internet.

  • @nikechristo ...NOOOOT!

  • @nikechristo I am going to google you, you seem like a giggle.

  • I find it amusing that the browser used in the video is Firefox, and not Google Chrome.

  • They do actually! (I use Chrome and Gears on my XP).

I would guess, though, that they used Firefox because it has *much* deeper market penetration than Chrome does at the moment (and there's no sadly Chrome for OS X yet, which is the system pictured).

Gears, Chrome, GMail Offline are all amazing! I'm ecstatic that Labs got this started...

  • That also makes sense.

I'm not to excited about gm offline though since I don't have a laptop, but I admit that it is a big step forward and start up businesses without cash for an MS exchange server and MS outlook licenses could benefit.

  • google getting better and better awesome**

  • Marvelous. I do look forward to Chrome for Mac...

  • and i look forward to chrome for linux

  • is that mac chrome?

where d ou download chrome for mac

  • It's an Online Outlook Express D:

  • that is a mac i got a mac

  • are you using mac COMPUTER? because I CAN SEE somethings that are from mac...

  • Amazing- it's almost like Lotus Notes of the early-mid 1990's.

    Imagine, synchronization, what a concept!

Next we'll hear that there's a company called Backweb Technologies that works in this space.

  • genius

  • im still using firefox i have chorme and it crashes

  • Still a beta all gmail functions, I know it because my logo of gmail says:

    Gmail by Goolge BETA

  • Umm . it's called installing software. Why are treating this like it's an innovation?

  • Its mac os x, not windows

  • Check the fact that they're using Firefox instead of Google Chrome, which at the time this video was made, Chrome was not only available but no longer BETA, which Gmail still is. Funny, uh?

  • why still beta?

  • They haven't developed Chrome for Mac OS yet, so that's why they're using FF.

But saving your emails to your comp seems to defeat the purpose of webmail, although I do see that it would be useful for businesspeople.

  • Its not saving, its caching. Theres a difference.

  • You guys should stop ripping off Common Craft's explanatory video style. Pretty weak if you ask me.

  • Still a beta?

  • Cool!!! Keep going ..Great labs

  • WHERE'S YOUR GOOGLE CHROME NAO?

  • Give us proper IMAP client!!! Please... Gmail 2 Gmail IMAP, with multiple accounts.

  • They made the video with Firefox, because Chrome don´t supports Apple.

  • I don't have it in the Labs section either! Where is it?

  • It's coming in the next few days, they say on thier blog.

  • Lol, in this video they are using Firefox, not their own Chrome xD

  • i didnt realize that until you pointed it out very funny

  • thats a lie

  • I have no Gmail Offline in my labs tab (using Chrome).

  • It will be rolled out over the next few days. Check in about a week.

  • When will the feature roll-out be complete? I always seem to get the cool stuff last :(

  • hiiiiiiiii

  • Cool! Seguire usando firefox... a descargar oofline

  • i don't have it in the labs; where is it?!

  • not availble for me yet, and im on a train for 3 hours today, would have been VERY useful!!!

  • There is no Gmail Off-line switch on the Labs page

  • I've no offline gmail in my gmail labs :(

  • Offline Gmail is ok.. Most importantly does this provide a faster Gmail experience?

I am getting tired of that loading animation before being able to see my mails, even though new mails may load a few seconds later, I want instant view of my latest inbox. So I wonder if Gears can store all the Gmail javascripts locally to load them instantly.

  • Gmail loads a lot faster than it did a year ago but I agree that the pre-loading is an annoyance. Still, I visit it enough that it seems to be in my cache and pops right up in most cases.

  • what happens when you make conflicting changes on 2 different offline computers?

  • this is like a late christmas gift!

  • I've been waiting for this since Gears was released.

  • Me too! Finally.

  • Phil Farnsworth? They have Gmail in heaven? Oh boy!

  • awesome, thx Google.

This is one of the reasons why Google kicks the ass of all the others mail servers!!!

  • Great idea, now we can communicate better on the move Google. Cool!

  • Really great idea! Nice job Google!

  • awesome.. this is just the thing i need, with my "borrowed" internet connection going on and off :-)

  • I love you Google!! :)

  • Isn't that kind of obvious?

Why hasn't anybody though of that before?
