@4everstressed putem in a cage 4 bout 10 mins with the hair and stuff of a rabbit outa reach til they find their voice. then drag the hair across the ground and hide. then let the dogs go and it will get them to barkin atem. and huntin em down as you see.
I did the pet rabbit chase in the backyard so we went from site chase to scenting .It worked better than I had hoped . Once you go hound ,you gotta stick around (lol ) .
mine is about 7 months old or so,it hasnt even really touched anything like a rabbit,do they automatically try and find a rabbit when they get a scent for one? like are they stubborn to track one?
i do the same thing with my 2 pups but i started with hotdog pieces now i just drag a frozen rabbit around the woods lol....have they started on rabbits yet???
anyone know if you can traing a 7 year old beagle/springer spaniel to do this

I trained my dog at 3 years old when I first got her and she is a heck of a rabbit dog.

if you want to train pups how to hunt get a couple good running domestic rabbit and put them in a pen we start our pups at 8 weeks old
