  • awesome

  • lol paksiw na manok yan eh

  • I saw that too... Anyway, the original adobo recipe uses salt and not soy sauce to season it. It has its roots in Spain and Mexico--during the galleon trade when the Phils is still a Spanish colony. The ingenious Filipino used soy sauce (most likely due to Chinese influence over our food's flavors), and made it the adobo we now know. BUT, some people here still uses salted adobo as a variation to the soy-seasoned one. Its called adobo sa puti (white adobo).

  • I saw the soysauce earlier, so you guys set! HEHEHE

  • hey! his friend back at that Filipino store looks like my cousin!

    nice movie! it's fun!

  • HAHAHA!!! shut up!!

this movie reminds me of how i was. Always with my friends, not knowing how to cook filipino food, never going to the parties or knowing the entire family, getting called pogi pogi!! o and dancing to my ringtones lol...haha great vid, but the dad seems kind of bakla, but he made me laugh the hardest!!!

  • yup I think a lot of Filipino American's can relate to this from our generation but yeah I'm glad everyone likes it!

  • why no soysauce

  • the old way of adobo has no soy sauce. hehehe

  • lol you know what, the other day I looked at my old recipe book and it really was missing the toyo. So I really didnt just forget it, it was not in the recipe. I think it tastes a lot better with it though.

  • i guess you have the old style adobo. the original adobo has no toyo. it was added later when chinese came to philippines. acually i also like adobo with no toyo. but i prefer a stronger vinegar - the darker the better.

  • cool well thanks for the knowledge!

  • OMG! Baluuuuuut! I've eaten that! You basically need to eat it blind-folded because it looks so gross, but it does taste pretty good - at least the parts that I wasn't too grossed out about.

Well you don't really need to be blind-folded to eat it, but I remember not looking at it too intently!

  • Yeah that one balut looked pretty bad but I have yet to try it! Next time I go to the Philippines I'm game though.
