I saw that too... Anyway, the original adobo recipe uses salt and not soy sauce to season it. It has its roots in Spain and Mexico--during the galleon trade when the Phils is still a Spanish colony. The ingenious Filipino used soy sauce (most likely due to Chinese influence over our food's flavors), and made it the adobo we now know. BUT, some people here still uses salted adobo as a variation to the soy-seasoned one. Its called adobo sa puti (white adobo).
galing dude! totally freakin' awesome work.. haha this reminds me of all the Flips here in Germany, esp. the half ones, know nothing being 'bout Filipino and being all suprised when they go the a party for the first time!
salamat at ako ay mas lalong PROUD TO BE PINAY NOW =^_^=
this movie reminds me of how i was. Always with my friends, not knowing how to cook filipino food, never going to the parties or knowing the entire family, getting called pogi pogi!! o and dancing to my ringtones lol...haha great vid, but the dad seems kind of bakla, but he made me laugh the hardest!!!
lol you know what, the other day I looked at my old recipe book and it really was missing the toyo. So I really didnt just forget it, it was not in the recipe. I think it tastes a lot better with it though.
i guess you have the old style adobo. the original adobo has no toyo. it was added later when chinese came to philippines. acually i also like adobo with no toyo. but i prefer a stronger vinegar - the darker the better.
OMG! Baluuuuuut! I've eaten that! You basically need to eat it blind-folded because it looks so gross, but it does taste pretty good - at least the parts that I wasn't too grossed out about.
Well you don't really need to be blind-folded to eat it, but I remember not looking at it too intently!
ey man! good work bro! and good choices of songs!! good job bro!! really good job!! maaaan, your vid just made me miss the philippines more! hahaha! but! good work! keep it up!
Thanks! I just finished up another cool video I think you Pinoys/Pinays out there would really like, its not a short film but check it out really soon...
lagyan mo naman ng tuyo luv ang putla ng adobo mohehe, dont stir it often para maluto yong suka,it taste better so just let it boil..but im sure it taste good!well done!keep cooking!

Hmm adobo without toyo is like... spaghetti without hotdogs... lol
I've done it before using coconut milk instead of soy sauce, tastes great but I miss the brownish and aroma of toyo. Kudos to you and your co-actors.
