I always wondered if he died...with a broken heart.because, I think he loved Loretta Lynn-so much...and didn't have her, as his wife...Twilight27272727
We Have lost SO MANY great artist I have written a song and posted it here on Youtube. I appriceate you posting this great classic and I hope you get around to listening to my tribute to the legends..
I will begin by saying, yes, I'm old. I've been through many generations of singers, and I can honestly say none of them touch the soul as deeply as Conway did. He is the most underrated artist of all time, with a record breaking number of hits. I remember wanting to be just like him as a child, and to this day, no other artist can come close to the 'touch' he laid upon my life. RIP Conway, you are sorely missed.
Uh, how the heck can 9 people dislike this song?, yeah they must be those crackheads that think today's country is country, yep, they need mental help, this is REAL country right here.
My Granny Loved this song and always asked me to sing It for her and when she was dying In the Hospitial I climbed In the bed with her and sang this song to her In her ear.
i miss and love you so much pkm and getting that email from you today just touched my heart...i want you to know that i love you more today then i did yesterday with the promise to love you even more tomorrow
So many are so scared to go to die... I can honestly say I am not afraid I look forward to going to heaven when my time comes for when I go I will be able to hear all he great voices gone before their time... Ray Charles, Johnny/June Cash, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, and many more I look forward to the day when I can hear their voices in person.
Sometimes I listen to the old country music like this and it keeps me going because sometimes in your life this is all that's left of the wonderful music that we used to have......sometimes I feel so sad and lonely and then i listen to music like this and gives me the will to keep going
@simonne234 it does sometimes! and i know what u feel like! but just think their r people that care! even if we never c each other or talk or meet! i still want u here!!!!!!
I love this song I've heard others sing it but Conway is the only one that can bring tears to my eyes Bette Midler bears a second place lol I was raised on country and to this day still fall to my knees when a good classic comes on the radio sure do miss the oldies R.I.P Conway Twitty <3
I was named after this song Im told my dad would sing it to my mom while she was pragnet with me and to me all the time as a baby :) and apperently he recorded it too Ive listened to this song all my life and i just realized now I was also born in the spring lol weird but cool
My parents were suppost to go see him at a fair in Vt. but he died a few weeks before the show,1 of the greatest country voices ever has been silenced, but the music will live on for ever,LONG LIVE THE MUSIC OF CONWAY TWITTY!
CONWAY,RAY PRICE,JIM REEVES, GEORGE JONES, AND HANK WILLIAMS ARE THE THREE GREATEST VOICES IN COUNTRY MUSIC , EVER !!! VERN GOSDEN SHOULD ALSO BE ON THIS LIST. I CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TODAYS SINGERS . THEY ALL , SOUND ALIKE WITH NO DELIVERY SKILLS AT ALL.THEY ENTERTAIN , BUT ARE NOT VERY GOOD SINGERS.
Conway was one of the greatest...........listened to him since I was a child and still do.....my mom said I moped around for days when he died...........He was and alwayswill be my favorite........no better love songs than his....
Great song, greater man. Conway was in rock n roll for ten years but his love was country music, he switched and never looked back. We will always love and miss him. May he rest in peace. Cathy T
i am only a 19 year old boy and i conway is my favorite singer. everyday i thank my grandparents for showing me true love something this modern day society is lacking. If Twitty is not playing at your wedding and kayne west is then it wont last. This man has more talent more than any other singer ive ever heard
I just wanna say that just because you don't like a kind of music, you don't have to say : Blaaa bla this is real music and not a shit like 2pac oder sth. like that.
I <3 2pac he was / is the best rapper ! And i like conway twitty too but i like 2 pac more, But pls dont say things like : Todays music is shit ... -.- That's not true and you know that! So shut the f'ck uP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think country music fans should consider a class action suit against Garth Brooks.
Seriously, listen to country music from before he was around, then compare it to the stuff from after. Happy country music; for god's sake country music isn't supposed to be happy!
Now it's all mass-marketed corporate pop and pseudo-patriotism bullshit that bears no resemblence to the music of Hank Williams or Patsy Cline. It all went to hell when some suits realized they could make money off it.
@jimbrown257 You obviously don't support our country or troops who are giving their lives to give you the freedom to say this crap!! Toby is awesome and alot of other artists are wonderfully supportive of them as we all should be. You have a right to your opinion and so do I. I think you need to grow up and get over it. Country music is what you make it. I am sorry you are so narrow minded.
I had to look up this song because I heard it on Family Guy. I love the lyrics of this song. I've never personally listened to this artist before, however the lyrics are beautiful.
im 15 and i love old music it is the best kind not like all this rap crap and its an honor for us to even be able to listen to this so right on who ever put this on here
i was raised old style country and i will always live with the pride of knowing i was raised with the ways of the era with "real" country. i sing karaoke often nights at a bar and although i havent practiced conway much, i am very skilled at bluegrass (man of constant sorrow), "real" country (don williams - i believe in you.) RIP conway! we miss the good ole days with the good ole music :D
i kept on hearing Conway Twitty mentioned into Blake Shelton's songs, and in Hillbilly Bone, i finally gave in and looked him up on here. and i'm glad i did. :)
Before I hit the road and the charts, I was a house band in Augusta, Ga. Casey Jenkins was Manager of WGUS radio. The country station. Conway Twitty was coming to Augusta. Casey went to each club and told them the Leads would be off that night. So, Carrol Mathews , Bill Findley, Helen Coffey, Lynn Houston, Robbie Benson and Johnny Clarke was at the concert. Before Conway took the stage the announcer had us all stand and told where we each played. The power of radio. But that too, has gone away.
@starr522 that charts? what songs and what band? i love listening to the music that my parents exposed me to. bands like alabama, and artists like conway, hank, waylon etc.
Its a good thing hes not with us today because if he saw what has happened to music today with bieber fag and that tone deaf rebecca black it would kill him
The great thing about most of Conway Twitty's music is simple less is more
Al Green,Barry White ,Bill Withers simple beats and Rhythm some artist in today music know it growing up to music like those i named and some other people named
Samuel Cornelius Phillips found or at least record singer's like Twitty and Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison , BB King Charlie Rich, Junior Parker, and Billy Lee Riley
I am an 18 old boy from Portugal that listens mostly to Punk, Hardcore, Drum'n'Bass, etc...and I have to say that, if it wasn't for people like Conway Twitty and other great musicians of his time, there would never be any of the music I hear or the pop culture of today, and I don't like him just for that, I truly appreciate his songs...
This song was played at my fathers funneral February 17th 1987 I was 10 but never had the chance to stay for it... step mother was a bitch... she just wanted all the attention. Cancer is KILLER! silent Killer... He was a great guy.
Anyone that can't appreciate Conway Twitty has no sense of country music at all and wouldn't understand early rocknroll or any other style. If the lyrics aren't laced in profanity and filth, then some of this younger generation don't like it. Maybe one day when they mature they might be able to appreciate good music. It is their loss though.
@ashton485 Sorry it aint tupac lil one this is what us older folk call MUSIC and to appreciate real music you've gotta have good taste which obviously you clearly lack. since nobody up to this point in your life has ever told you this obviously!!! I will. "if you aint got anything nice to say don't say anything at all"
Yeah Conway really was a Blessing to those of us that have been fortunate enough to have had the pleasure through the courses of our lives of listening to and enjoying his music.
Conways is to Country what Elvis or the Beatles were to Rock or James Brown was to soul
@court1100f I thank my Aunt Shirley for taking me to see him 4 or 5 times at Ponderosa Park when i was a young boy. We even planned a vacation in Georgia around getting to see him in concert wheile we were there lol. I saw a legend!
