  • YEAAH!!! Thank you!!! I listened to that song so much but never had the chance to see the video. Those guys have a great talent and if it weren't for those management issues, I'm sure their career would have reached higher levels! Anyway, great voice, great musicians, great song!!!

And is it just me, or were 80s girls intensely pretty?

  • Eight Seconds was a new wave-pop band formed in 1982 in Ottawa, Canada. They are best known for their 1987 top-30 single "Kiss You (When It's Dangerous)" from the full-length album Almacantar. The band's lineup included Andrés del Castillo (vocals/guitar), March Cesare (bass), Frank Levin (keyboards), Scott Milks (drums), and Marc Parent (guitar).

    thank you wikipedia

  • I like it!

  • A great band from Ottawa, who got their start from wining a contest from a local radio station. Remember Where's Bulau ?

  • omg..i heard this song when i was like 6 my dad loves tha oldies. if it wasnt for him i never would have known of this gr8 song. ty

  • @tonfan, ya know coming from Chi-town, in the middle-of-no-where-USA (lol, kinda), I miss the 80's, MuchMusic and MusiquePlus that we used to get on this OBSCENELY large satelite dish we used to have...

I had no idea what Canada was about, let alone they had AWESOME music like this (as well as other music), and the fact they spoke french (ok, quebecois french, and yes, I was 12 yrs old at the time), so believe it or not I learned more about WWII germany in school than canada, so F me I guess..

  • @missionpants Dunno where I was going with this, but hey, steppin off my soap box to say, Canadian rock is AWESOME!

  • Hey there, upload your original video clips to us at LessPulp and we'll pitch them to producers, the TV networks license them and you get money.

    It's Fun, It's Simple and It's Free!

  • 4 people are getting slapped when it's safe

  • que buen tema,años 80 no es menor

  • I like the version on the Retro-Active compliation cd ; extended out for another minute;; starts off with the drums pounding out the signature beat and then the bass kicks in for a quick riff away the song goes!! Also on this cd is a great extended version of Major Tom and Erasure`s chains of love extended out for over 8 minutes!! " still lost in the 80`s"

  • @WS61979 You are talking about the version included in "Retro Active Rare & Remixed 6", I have the whole Retro Active CD collection, definitely in the "must have" category of every '80s music lover, IMHO :)

  • @Maxi470 You are so right!!! I have also collected the Retro-active/Retro-Remixed cd`s as they were issued and the good folks at HiBias always seem to pick the best extended tracks or versions for their compliations..i order them thro` the nearest HMV store as I am still leery about ordering over the `net.. I see from their web page that Retro-Active #7 is now available. I have a facebook page ;none nothing yet ;; but will dedicate to 80`s; Sheridan College; and beloved TA; hence WS61979

  • @WS61979 For some reason this song made me think of A-HA`s Take On Me so i had to check out their video ; still a classic for their use of animation/live action in that time period..."still lost in the 80`s'

  • @WS61979 why did you click dislike?

  • @antirepublican123::: Opps!! didn`t know I clicked a negative responce to this; thanks for pointing it out;; most of the music from the 80`s is fun stuff;; it was a good time;; ""'still lost in the 80`s""

  • This directly taps you into the 80s. I didn't hear this song back then but feel the 80s vibe permeating....what a relief...so lucky to be an 80s child...

  • saw these guys in '87 at the old Ontario Place Forum in T.O. Anyone remember the Forum?

  • my dad loves this song, now i lnow why. Great song

  • Good tunes. Eight seconds stole that bit about pulling the guitar and keyboard out of the ground...from Black Sabbaths video "Knocking at your back door"

  • @unclebob100 i think you mean deep purple

  • @sergep1977 You're right!... I have an excuse tho.. I was medicating with the herb bro! Thanks for putting me straight.

  • @unclebob100 nothing wrong with the herb dude. rock on

  • Wow! have not heard this song in ages, still like it

  • Tab, now tht's music . You guys' ever care to perform on Quebec talk shows. The girls would tear of your clothes, lol Bravo dudes !

  • I'll kiss you once, but never agahahahaaaiiiiiin!

  • I'll kiss you when its raining

  • Such a good song...I love the 80s. ^_^

  • soooooooooooo good...

  • So grateful for having grown up in the 80s. Tunes like this provided the soundtrack of my youth.

  • love this song! thanks for posting it. Living in Detroit we get the CBC station. I watched too much MTV so my parents cancelled cable. I had to get my fix from somewhere.

  • I always thought that this song was older. I am sure this song was on a compilation album called Share-Chez 83 or something like that.

  • thanks for the great song ...MAXI470

  • Great tune by a great guy and his crew...worked with Andy Del Castillo in Ottawa and he was not only an amazing sales guy but an overall amazing guy. Used to play this over the company intercom and had nothing but smiles.

  • Thank you Martin Streak (RIP) late, CFNY DJ for introducing me to this song on Sunday nights live to air retro from whiskey saigon....along with numerous others along the way too...this one goes out to you Martin along with anything by The Clash, "best band of all-time" as you used to say.

  • Now Accepting Donations to Build a Time Machine to Go Back to The 80's.

  • @perpetual61 Ill stay here with cell phones and computers etc. Music today has just as good songs but they arent the ones getting airplay so you have to dig through the crap to find the good stuff. Top 40 now is the joke.

  • @perpetual61 :-)) ;-)

  • @perpetual61 I don't have any money but I will give blood and guts. Oh if only I could be 25 years younger too. But I would miss the internet; I won't miss all the gross porn & stupid video games but l would miss the music & information at my fingertips. Still the eighties was like some kind of music renaissance. Oh if only we could...

  • I love this tune.

  • Man, 80's music, there's no substitute.....

  • I miss Canadian Rock.

  • wow ...I remember this song. Great stuff

  • I just obtained a copy of Almacantar CD few weeks ago. The Where's Beulah track sounds a little different from video on youtube, think it's because they did it over for the Almacantar album. Great music.

  • I love this song, The 80's music was a time when people could really sing, and song's made sense.

  • Gotta love Ontario , Canada's smalltown Fairs saw some great bands!

  • I love it!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! THIS TAKES ME BACK TO 1987! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SOFTROCK SONGS FROM THE 80'S!!!

  • Canada sure produced a staggering amount of great bands in the '80's...

  • @tonfan -thank CANCON

  • @brohmanski

What did CANCON have to do with the music being produced? Sure, back in the day it ensured that Canadian up and comers got airplay but it in no way deemed who did or did not get produced or released.

Not to mention that CANCON is now a joke that allows radio stations to play Bryan Adams and Celine Dion ad nauseum.

  • Live in Hull, but work in Ottawa: not the dull place many think it is. There's plenty of summer activities (e.g the Blues Fest, beginning to get visitors from all over) there.

  • I'm from Ottawa Ontario Canada, and these guys rocked, wished they were still here.

  • Great music from the 80's. I was 19 when the music flow and beats today's music. Oh the 80's I miss you.

  • Group from Ottawa, Ontario (where I live); brings back memories of the mid-eighties, when music videos made it big.

  • @opusvfive 8 seconds x 2 comments from Ottawa Ontario we rule bud where R , i'm in Stittsville.

    Cheers

  • @opusvfive Oh yes this was a goody being from Ottawa, i'm from Stittsville where R you.

  • The 80's, what great music and great memories.

  • great song!! I worked with the lead singer for 3 years before I realized who he was!!

  • its great being born in the 70's and liking the 80's music. The 80's era will be sorely missed!

  • I am glad I was born in the 70's and listening to the 80's when I was growing up!

  • The 12" mix of this is available on the cd Retro:Active - Rare & Remixed 6. The cd sounds amazing :)

  • I hate my decade. The music industry is literally garbage today.

What happened to this great music????

I was born in 1991. I can't believe I missed all this by 2 years!

    You can't beat the 80's. You can't!

    I've replayed this song for the 20th time now. (;

  • This is such a cool song, I had to buy the CD on Amazon. Brings back memories as if it were like time travel. Thanks for posting this great song.

  • I remember them when they debuted on CHEZ 106, Ottawa's own Eight Seconds.

I'm starting to feel kinda old now. :-/

  • great song, I love it, I used to dance it too thanks

  • *sigh* If only I was born in 1959 like my mother I would have been able to live all the fun and fantastic era's of the 20th Century. Unfortunately, I was born in 1991 but at least I got the 90's before the *shudder* 2000's and even though the 2010's are looking pretty good it will never be as amazing as the 80's. Boy I am spewing I missed out on this era, but oh well, my mum pretty much took my sister and I through the 80's until 1997 because she was still stuck in it haha memories...

  • Wow... fellow canucks might remember this tune waay back on Video Hits... that was the last time I saw it before youtube and I was young then, ha ha!

  • @rjinont ohh samantha fox!

  • very underrated band and song

  • like i mention b4 all this 80's rock tunes were the best and still the best and always will b the best

  • Another great Canadian song woot!!!!!!!

  • just caught a bit of this track at the end of another vid by chance, never heard of the song or the group before, thought id look it up, love it, what a thrill to have discovered such a great 80s tune after all this time!

  • same!think it was steven tin tin duffy.what a find eh?

  • yes thats it, it was just before the "kiss me" vid by tin tin duffy!

  • get ready to be pissed off, but... this song was so cool back in the day, i met one of my first boyfriends when this came out, and he and i kissed in a mall at he time! dangerous, back in the 80;s!! oh, i am a guy... always think of him when i hear this,

  • god I miss the 80's!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great group in the 80's if you guys are still around you need to come and sing your old stuff and maybe new stuff get in touch with a company you guys could come back that would be cool and maybe sing this song agian " kiss you when its dangerous...

  • i used to have the album this song came from on cd...i had it in a pile of cds i was selling ,which i didnt realise.I have never seen the album again...i miss it ...was great for playing in the car....hope there is a re-release of the album at some point.

  • I think that the reason a lot of the music from the 80's is so loved, (aside from the whole "back in the good old days" aspect) is that for the most part, these bands wrote their own music, played their own instruments, and spent years together striving to "make it". Just my opinion

  • everything today is pre packaged by the corporate people. i agree with your opinion in full. either way the music im happy, is still alive

  • Very well done video, more imaginative than some of today's videos.

  • wuaaa que recuerdosssssssss jajajajaja tenia como 5 años geniall

mi hermano mayor lo escuchaba ^^

    gracias por el video

  • Greatest Canadian band...and dare I say band from the '80's of all time.

  • The music of today does not have the flavour like this does. I was very young in the 80's, too young to really know the era i was living in. Now the music is crap and i listen to all retro. what a song this is.

  • Indeed! :-)

  • @Maxi470 i am the same way

  • I did live in the 80's, and yes, this era's music had flavor like no other. I still love the music and video's. Too bad, that most of the must now is just a bunch of bee-bop, no style and no flavor.

  • @michealingram ditto!!!

  • @michealingram ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @michealingram ..SONGS TODAY HAVE NO DEPTH

  • @SuperHandsam Another great song from that era was "Dreams of You" by The Box

  • @michealingram .ur right now is crap i listen to depeche m, u2, bronky b, images in v, rush, parachute c, yazoo, pet shop b, level 42, tears for f, spoons, platinum b, honeymoon s, i even have the much more retro for 5 bucks i enjoy...

  • @eltonazo how do you get much retro? i used to have it on bell and they cancelled it which i may say is the best channel ive ever had is it cogeco ?

  • @michealingram u need to be in rogers cable and ask for the much more retro channel is 703 the channel number and its only 5 bucks per month but 2 months free the first time..its lovely they play northen pikes, grapes of wrath, gowan, strange advance pure 80s, 90s music.
