I really love how so many YouTube posters believe that they are in the upper income tax brackets and will see the benefits of McCain's plan. Sorry to tell you, but the majority of people are not high net worth and some are not even officially middle class. There is a tendency for Americans to claim that they are middle class even if they are officially lower class. Only true high income people and corporations will benefit under McCain's plan, so consider your actual status before voting.
Yea and you think you are actually in the middle class that Obama plans to protect..hmmmmm. I don't love either candidate but I still believe in the American Dream and working the way to the top, rather than just sitting on my ass and waiting for a government handout.
If Obama is so stupid. Why do all the Hollywood movie stars and all the musicians and all the entertainers want him to be the next ruler of America?
They are the ones who are the most knowledgable! They fly all over the USA meeting with people and singing songs.
I heard that Jane Fonda even went to Vietnam to meet with McCains. She forgave him for killing innocent people. She is a saint and we should pray for her.
Obama and McCain need to contact Sen. Ron Paul for an economics lesson, many public officials who do not understand the economy do this and they should too.
Sure it comes from an obvious bias, but its true. McCain always admits he doesnt know much about economics and I personally would like a president with at least a smidge of knowledge on the matter. I guess its easy for someone with 7 properties to not have to worry as much about economics, but the majority of the country doesnt have that pleasure.

You're right though, great choice lol. If you GOP doesnt have enough faith in her to openly let her do many interviews and debates, why should I have any faith in her?
George Bush supported regulation of Fannie Mae in 2003. Guess what? Senators Barney Frank, Clinton, Obama, Kerry, et al opposed it. Look it up, Senator Shelby and even that dufus Oxley tried to get bills passed. Dems blocked it and now we are bailing out Fannie Mae. Truth hurts, huh?
Conservatives get nervous about parts of Obama's economic plan is because most of them fit into that upper 3%. The rich flourish when republicans are in office and the middle class struggle. Obama's economic plan will benefit the majority of Americans. It will give them a boost that help them to pay for gas, mortgages and all those other expenses. Our economy is going nowhere but down. Obama's plan would pull us out of this recession.
Obama's plan will create less revenue and put us into recession. Revenues consistently decrease when Cap gains taxes are raised. Obama didn't do his homework when he was making those claims. Also, by continuing to heavily tax the rich, investment in our companies decreases so the economy suffers.
In the 50s-70s the tax rate for the top tax bracket was over 70% (Obama wants it at 39%) and yet the economy grew more in that period than it did in the last 8 years.
You could apply your argument against taxing the rich to minimum wage as well. After all, the minimum wage is a free-market interruption that makes things more difficult for business owners. The business owners suffer and then the economy suffers. Are you against minimum wage? Should we let the labor market dictate all wages?
I didn't say that Carter didn't put us into a recession. I said that Hoover, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bushes did! Can you not accept facts?
Being young, I tend not to remember Carter. I remember Bush.
And next time, try the shift key. It does wonders to make you seem less like an idiot.
McCain would continue Bush's economic policies that do NOT work. Look at our economy now. Our economy sucks! Every time our economy tanks, a Repubican is President! Herbert Hoover - Great Depression Dwight Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Richard Nixon - 1971 Recession Gerald Ford - stagflation in 1973 Ronald Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - right now! We deserve a change. Vote Barack Obama.
It means that the GDP has gone up but at the same time the distribution of wealth shifted away from the working class (this includes educated workers like engineers) and toward the top 5% and even more so the top 1%. Real wages(adjusted for inflation) have stagnated for the bottom 95% of the US.
I should have put a period after "exactly" rather than a comma. Is that what you mean?
Condi Rice Advisor who helped Petraeus design his 2007 counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq, called the decision to invade Iraq "stupid" -- in fact, he said "fucking stupid" -- and suggested that if policy-makers apply the manual's lessons, similar wars can be avoided in the future.
"The biggest stupid idea," Kilcullen said, "was to invade Iraq in the first place."
Senators McCain and Gramm believe that the economy is great. Recently, both said that the recession that people believe we are in is "all in their mind; it's a mental recession." They went on to say that the American people are whiners and should stop whinning about the economy. Both are out of touch with the realities of this country. Vote for Obama, he can relate to our economic problems, and will fix them, with your help.
Obama understands nothing. Read his book. He says capitalism was good for the industrial revolution, but now it's outdated. The last thing he understands is "bottom up" economic growth. He is for centralizing power, and socializing the economy. He is a demogogue of the worst stripe. Vote Barr/Root in 2008 if you want America to remain recognizable, and don't want to have to convert dollars to RMB when you shop online...
He meant that capitalism 1.0 doesn't work now. He's shooting for capitalsim 2.0, which is more appropriate for the 21st century. Regulating does not mean oppression, it means the rule of law. And the rule of law is still democratic!
McCain = Obama. Real Americans are voting for Bob Barr in 2008. He'll be on your election ballot unless you live in Oklahoma. Do the right thing, vote Barr in 2008. We can't take 4 more years of socialism, nor can we take 4 more years of unconstitutional, expensive war. Neither of the two evils is worth voting for this election. You must vote for the good, for once in your life, and let the pieces fall where they may.
But yea, Communism seems to be doing well in China. I don't think taking from the rich and giving to the poor is right, but nor is taking from the poor and giving to the rich.
The sheriff of Nottingham needs an arrow up his ass.
For 20 years,Obama attended Wright's church, listened to his weekly sermons, entertained him in his home. Yet, says Obama, he never heard any racist rants at church, nor was he aware that Wright held so poisoned a view of his country. Sorry, that is not credible. Wright is a famous preacher in black America, and Barack's denial he was aware of his views marks him down either as a dissembler or a man so obtuse he ought not be a security guard at Wal-Mart,let alone president of the United States.
Someone please explain why Obama will "destroy the middle class"
Don't just say it. Explain what you mean.
Because I just lived through 7 years of neocons that I KNOW were screwing the middle class. When people that DID screw me...try to make me afraid of someone else, because the new guy "might" screw me...I have to take it with a grain of salt.
But I cannot believe what has happened to the modern Republican party. The new GOP in no way looks like the old party. We call the Dems "tax and spend" but we have become "tax and borrow. Eisenhower warned against "pre emptive war"and against the power of the military industrial complex. Reagan believed in negotiating with enemies. Hell..Nixon went to China!
I am going to vote for Obama....because MY PARTY left me. I did not leave the party.
America NEVER before went to war and gave tax breaks to the rich at the same time. It is economic suicide to wage war on 100% borrowed money. Ronald Reagan would not have done it. It results in HUGE borrowing from China ..resulting in Higher Taxes on future generations!
It is immoral and unethical to be charging what we want on a credit card that our kids will have to pay.
It is not "socialist/communist" to have tax rates similar to those under Reagan.
Your a fucking goof! I dont give a fuck about you and your idiotic labels. Socialist, liberal, far left liber, marxist, etc...I'd rather one of those than John McIdiot. Hell, I'd rather a high school sr. than John McCain. They'd have more math skills and a better sense of the economy than Grampa McLame. It's a fucking shame, the rest of the world is watching this election and wondering how the fuck John McCain got the oppertunity to become the leader of the free world?
I'm tired of you lame ass idiots talking about democrats being "socialists". I'd a socialist run this country than a conservative. One has been in the white house for almost 8 years and is going to go down as the worst president in the history of presidents and his replacement seems as though he's 10 times more confussed than he was when he was campaigning for the ovel office. The choice is an easy one. Obama/Clark 09!!!
nox- Now that you mention it...Barack Obama does have a plan to cut spending. It's called "End the War in Iraq". It is by far and away the single biggest way to reduce government spending.
McCain on the other hand, has absolutely no way to generate cash for his war. He could veto every single earmark..and still come nowhere close to paying for his war.
Why end the war in Iraq? Did you not know we're reaching all-time low activities in Iraq? We're finally winning, why back-out now. Rebuild them so they can produce oil and products, and then bam we have a new market in the middle-east and an ally. The Iraqi government is gaining power for itself every month. Obama wants to end the war in Iraq but give everyone free healthcare(which will kill the middle-class), kill infants, and taxing the rich. BAD IDEAS from an idiot people buy into.
Are you aware that the rich pay lower tax now than at any time in modern US history?
(including during Reagan) and as a result..we had to borrow HUGE from China. As result, the dollar has lost much of it's value, and in future years, YOU and YOUR CHILDREN will have HUGE TAX INCREASES to pay for the debt.
They don't pay taxes because they spend the money and right it off. That's where our income comes from. So if the rich don't pay taxes, and the poor don't pay taxes. Who's going to pay for the free healthcare tax increases? The shrinking middle-class? Also does France have 300+ million people? Look at Canada's healthcare system, most come down to the USA for surgeries. I believe people who are working or disabled should get some money for healthcare but not all. I'm not paying for a freeloader.
Good question. Historically, we NEVER cut upper bracket tax rates during war time. Doing that caused us to borrow trillions from China. That's where that money came from. But the bad news: IT HAS TO BE PAID BACK.
Who will pay? Our kids and grandkids with HIGHER TAXES in the future..so the wealthy can pay the lowest income and capital gains rates in modern History! World money markets know it..hence the the falling value of the dollar.
That's the problem with democrats. They know what people want to hear. They are desperate to get back in the white house, understandably so, but they make either empty promises or misleading ones. Where is the money going to come from? That's a question they DO NOT want to answer, and trust me, you don't want to know the answer. All these things that seem 'free' are far from it. The money comes from somewhere. And you can bet, you'll pay for it one way or another. Im not a republican.
'Straight Talk" John today at a town hall meet, told the crowd that Obama's increase in the tax on capital gains hits "100 million Americans".
Fact Check: Most Americans invest in stocks through
401K plans..these are not subject to capital gains tax!
The proposed "increase" (actually a restoration to old rates) DOES NOT effect 100 million Americans..not even close. McCain is lying or doesn't know ( scary either way).
You think politics is dirty business yet you want to trust more of your income to polititians? I don't care whose pocket the money comes out of and goes into - it is not (and was never meant to be) the role of the government to redistribute wealth ... young, naive, and uninformed Americans are welcoming the Socialist ideals that have destroyed so many great countries in the past. History repeating... PS. (I'm ashamed to be 25 and passively associated with the Obama/big government movement).
nof- You are 25? That explains it. I'm 53 and NOT a democrat. I have been watching politics longer than you have been alive. You are too young to know that the Republicans do not in any way represent what conservatism use to be.
The so called "tax increase' you are worried about is not an increase..it's putting things back to where it was under Reagan! The Bush tax cuts are destroying our economy. And you wouldn't know a "socialist" if you saw one.
Interesting that after 25 years of 'watching politics' you have perfected the art of mis-information and ad-hominim falacy. Well done... if you think Obama's plan is to "put things (the tax code) back to where it was under Reagan" you are saying that Obama plans to cut government spending by 15%. That's interesting, a 15% decrease in government spending by increasing taxes... well done 'sir'.
p.s. I'm not a republican all politicians have the same incentive structure.
Oh yeah, and our government is excellent at taking the taxes it extracts from its denizens and putting into 'profit generating devices' ... you pointing out that 'tax code and paying existing debt' is different from 'government spending as a percentage of GDP' is incredibly diversionary. Actually - they DID try to impart that sort of diversionary tactics to me when I was getting my MBA, garbage about dividend policies and partial-disclosure ... its all zero sum, but your distractions are cute.
You changed the subject and and that makes me "diversionary"?
You brought spending as % of GDP into the conversation. OK..I'm sure you're right about expansion of the role of government. But,if you are going to say that entitlement programs (the largest areas of government spending) are unnecessary and The Iraq war IS necessary, borrowing trillions from China is a good idea..We will have to agree to disagree.
Nof- don't let reality get in the way of your politics.
This is a re-post of my original post. Redistribution IS increased government spending...
I have said nothing about borrowing from China. War costs are nothing compared to entitlement programs - monetarily or philosophically. I would refer you to Milton Friedman to understand why defense is an acceptable role for a free government, while redistribution always, unavoidably limits freedom ... He's old enough (in fact, he's dead) and he won a nobel prize in economics- 'Capitalism and Freedom' is my personal recommendation 'Free to Choose' is good for the less philosophically inclined.
nof- So..just to be clear..are you proposing that we get rid of Social Security and Medicare?
Also, how is the Iraq war and our continued occuaption "defense"? It looks more like the game plan from the Project for a New American Century. Have you read their brief?
"Defense" has nothing to do with it and Friedman would not approve.
you are 53? Oh, that explains it... you were about 25 when these policies were being introduced - how could someone of that age bracket understand ANYTHING about politics...
at least he is saying something, McCain stutters when backed into a corner, thats not the guy I want running the country, he will panic at tough questions and fumble like Bush before him. Vote Obama as McCain doesnt even have an answer let alone credibility for it.
Im still undicided, but I now think the a lot of things Obama says that he is going to do, he is not going to do it, and i think why all the Liberals are voting for him because he is a African American, and they feel bad that they hadn't had a African American in office.
I think you'll find that Obama's policy in Economics will be a greater vote generating device then any appeal to any sense of white-guilt.
If you have one candidate who knows about the Economy (Obama) and another who acknowledges that he does not (McCain) then it is out of a sense of self-preservation that people will vote for Obama because he is better suited to manage the economy.
Um ,no, Horribly wrong, the decreasing value of the dollar leads to inflation! If money is worth less, then it means you must spend more to get the same as you once did. The value of money and inflation are directly influenced by gold, the dollar value is dependent on how much money we print with gold as a collateral, if we say gold is worth "A", then print more money, the Value of "A" has decreased so gold is worth more, hence inflation.
Presidential race has turned into who can b/s the best. Hilliary, Obama, and McCain don't know as must as Paul on economics. How is Hillary in the race when she crys? None of thoes three have mentioned a strong monetary policy, fical policy, foreign polocy, resintment of the Federal Reserve, and a strong backing of the United States Constitution.
By the way . . . Obama sure does talk nice, but he's been in the Senate for a little while now, can one of you point us to some major piece of economic legislation that he's been a part of creating? We'll wait.
A statement like that expects every presidential candidate to have had a personal hand in every single issue plaguing America. Within the Senate, the committees Obama is a part of are Veteran's Affairs, Foreign Relations, and Environment and Public Works, none of which necessitate changes by economic legislation. Attacking him for not having created economic legislation is like attacking him for not serving in the military. There is no intellectual basis for the criticism as it hardly applies.
Dolphins are stupid! Can you name me one Dolphin who's ever written a serious work of literature of philosophy? They've contributed nothing to academia, the sciences, or the arts. All they do is fuck around jumping through hoops and stuff. Fucking spongers.
hmmm, tax cuts on payroll with such a budget defecit? surely the way through this is free trade (with china) and growth, not borrowing money (from china).
An interesting way to sort this out would be to increase public sector spending, probably on military activity (please not in china). sad to say Obamas really not the man for this either.
Economics 102: dont do / say anything unless YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Thats neither then!
Seriously? Unrestricted trade with a country that has poisoned our pets and sold us toys covered in lead paint?! Start some more wars to solve our economic problems?!
Who are you saying would be a good President then? Whomever it is I hope they never become our President.
Politics Subliminal messages: Obama is 2 true, he's going 2 make good changes if he becomes president, he truly believes in equality 4 all mankind ! McCain will keep our beloved troops at war for 100 more years, he's a temperamental little person, remember (you little jerk
but he dose have a lot of metals, if that's what y'all in 2 and he has a good unconvincingly
sense of humor(Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran)& he's an expert in double talk! ??????
The only candidate who truly understands economics is Ron Paul. If you want bottom up growth you need to get the government out of the way and out of our pockets. Government is not the solution, government is the problem!
The government exists to help the American people otherwise we might as well live in an anarchy. Under Bush and the Republicans Government has become a problem because they want it to run poorly. The problem is predatory companies exploiting workers, and rewarding CEO's with millions. When you put people in charge who claim government is the problem you end up with a broken government - big surprise!
Our founding fathers did not set out to create a government to "help people". Their intent was to protect freedom, liberty, justice and provide for the national defense. At least thats what they said in the constitution. Have you ever read it?
Anarchy is a state of lawlessness not a lack of government help or handouts.
The founding fathers set in motion a great experiment but they created a living document. Regardless "in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity" is only the first part where it mentions helping the American people, maybe you need to read it.
Sure he understands the economy, but enough to actually do something about getting kids into college? No way. That's Sen. Obama's field. Sure John McCain is not well with our nation's numbers, but he's a genius with dealing with our Iraq war. He just doesn't tell us what we want to hear. That happens all too often. People don't think for themsleves.
They where economically retarded.
The crash caught the election off gaurd.
If it happened before the election got going neither of these morons would have ran.

"Exactly, almost all of the economic growth in the last 20 years has been in the richest 5% of the population"
But isn't that because of inflation?
owchywawa 3 years ago
That made absolutely no sense. Sorry.
pector55 3 years ago
It means that the GDP has gone up but at the same time the distribution of wealth shifted away from the working class (this includes educated workers like engineers) and toward the top 5% and even more so the top 1%. Real wages(adjusted for inflation) have stagnated for the bottom 95% of the US.
I should have put a period after "exactly" rather than a comma. Is that what you mean?

That was funny. Both of them don't have a clue what's going on. That's why I'm voting for Ron Paul in November. He knows what's going on.

Read Obama's freaking plan..don't just spew what you heard somewhere.
Obama's Tax proposals:
A. Small tax break for those under 96K
B. 96K to 250k...pay a little more social security to keep the system solvent...no additional income tax
C. 250k..income tax back to where it was during Reagan!
D. Capital gains on stock trades in brokerage accounts (not on 401K)
E. First 3.5 million are exempt from estate tax
Basically..put things back they way they were before Bush. It's NOT freakin "socialism".

Like they say..."fool me once"...etc.

I come from a family of long time Republicans.

As regards health care:
France (yes France) has a health care system that:
A. Has Choice of Doctors
B. Does not have long waits to see a doctor
C. Has better quality and better outcome than US health care
D. An overall healthier population than the US
E. Spends LESS per capita on health care than we do.
I know some of you don't want to believe that.
But it's still true.
No..not all socialized health systems work well..but what is also true.. is that our system is no where near the best.

(Economics 101)
America NEVER before went to war and gave tax breaks to the rich at the same time. It is economic suicide to wage war on 100% borrowed money. Ronald Reagan would not have done it. It results in HUGE borrowing from China ..resulting in Higher Taxes on future generations!
It is immoral and unethical to be charging what we want on a credit card that our kids will have to pay.
It is not "socialist/communist" to have tax rates similar to those under Reagan.
(as proposed by Obama).

The choice is an easy one. Obama/Clark 09!!!
UGOTDAJACK 3 years ago
nox- Now that you mention it...Barack Obama does have a plan to cut spending. It's called "End the War in Iraq". It is by far and away the single biggest way to reduce government spending.
McCain on the other hand, has absolutely no way to generate cash for his war. He could veto every single earmark..and still come nowhere close to paying for his war.
electrodyne1 3 years ago
Why end the war in Iraq? Did you not know we're reaching all-time low activities in Iraq? We're finally winning, why back-out now. Rebuild them so they can produce oil and products, and then bam we have a new market in the middle-east and an ally. The Iraqi government is gaining power for itself every month. Obama wants to end the war in Iraq but give everyone free healthcare(which will kill the middle-class), kill infants, and taxing the rich. BAD IDEAS from an idiot people buy into.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
iwatch- Obama wants:
"Free Health Care"- NO...read his plan
"Kill Infants"....Huh?????
Where do you get this stuff?
Are you aware that the rich pay lower tax now than at any time in modern US history?
(including during Reagan) and as a result..we had to borrow HUGE from China. As result, the dollar has lost much of it's value, and in future years, YOU and YOUR CHILDREN will have HUGE TAX INCREASES to pay for the debt.
Had you thought about that?
Just Wondering?
electrodyne1 3 years ago
They don't pay taxes because they spend the money and right it off. That's where our income comes from. So if the rich don't pay taxes, and the poor don't pay taxes. Who's going to pay for the free healthcare tax increases? The shrinking middle-class? Also does France have 300+ million people? Look at Canada's healthcare system, most come down to the USA for surgeries. I believe people who are working or disabled should get some money for healthcare but not all. I'm not paying for a freeloader.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
lgrady- "Where is the money going to come from?"
World money markets know it..hence the the falling value of the dollar.
electrodyne1 3 years ago
That's the problem with democrats. They know what people want to hear. They are desperate to get back in the white house, understandably so, but they make either empty promises or misleading ones. Where is the money going to come from? That's a question they DO NOT want to answer, and trust me, you don't want to know the answer. All these things that seem 'free' are far from it. The money comes from somewhere. And you can bet, you'll pay for it one way or another. Im not a republican.
lgradyl 3 years ago
Igradyl- "what the people want to hear"?
'Straight Talk" John today at a town hall meet, told the crowd that Obama's increase in the tax on capital gains hits "100 million Americans".
Fact Check: Most Americans invest in stocks through
401K plans..these are not subject to capital gains tax!
The proposed "increase" (actually a restoration to old rates) DOES NOT effect 100 million Americans..not even close. McCain is lying or doesn't know ( scary either way).
Politics is a dirty business.
electrodyne1 3 years ago
You think politics is dirty business yet you want to trust more of your income to polititians? I don't care whose pocket the money comes out of and goes into - it is not (and was never meant to be) the role of the government to redistribute wealth ... young, naive, and uninformed Americans are welcoming the Socialist ideals that have destroyed so many great countries in the past. History repeating... PS. (I'm ashamed to be 25 and passively associated with the Obama/big government movement).
nofxmeosker 3 years ago
nof- You are 25? That explains it. I'm 53 and NOT a democrat. I have been watching politics longer than you have been alive. You are too young to know that the Republicans do not in any way represent what conservatism use to be.
The so called "tax increase' you are worried about is not an increase..it's putting things back to where it was under Reagan! The Bush tax cuts are destroying our economy. And you wouldn't know a "socialist" if you saw one.
Lose the talking points..study some history.
electrodyne1 3 years ago
Interesting that after 25 years of 'watching politics' you have perfected the art of mis-information and ad-hominim falacy. Well done... if you think Obama's plan is to "put things (the tax code) back to where it was under Reagan" you are saying that Obama plans to cut government spending by 15%. That's interesting, a 15% decrease in government spending by increasing taxes... well done 'sir'.
p.s. I'm not a republican all politicians have the same incentive structure.
nofxmeosker 3 years ago
nof- tax code and spending are two different things..or did you not learn that in school?
Of course they are related...but future spending was not the topic. Tax code and paying existing debt was the topic.
Clarity of thought is important in a debate son.
electrodyne1 3 years ago
Oh yeah, and our government is excellent at taking the taxes it extracts from its denizens and putting into 'profit generating devices' ... you pointing out that 'tax code and paying existing debt' is different from 'government spending as a percentage of GDP' is incredibly diversionary. Actually - they DID try to impart that sort of diversionary tactics to me when I was getting my MBA, garbage about dividend policies and partial-disclosure ... its all zero sum, but your distractions are cute.
nofxmeosker 3 years ago
nof- "diversionary"?
You changed the subject and and that makes me "diversionary"?
You brought spending as % of GDP into the conversation. OK..I'm sure you're right about expansion of the role of government. But,if you are going to say that entitlement programs (the largest areas of government spending) are unnecessary and The Iraq war IS necessary, borrowing trillions from China is a good idea..We will have to agree to disagree.
Nof- don't let reality get in the way of your politics.
Peace

This is a re-post of my original post. Redistribution IS increased government spending...
nofxmeosker 3 years ago
I have said nothing about borrowing from China. War costs are nothing compared to entitlement programs - monetarily or philosophically. I would refer you to Milton Friedman to understand why defense is an acceptable role for a free government, while redistribution always, unavoidably limits freedom ... He's old enough (in fact, he's dead) and he won a nobel prize in economics- 'Capitalism and Freedom' is my personal recommendation 'Free to Choose' is good for the less philosophically inclined.
nofxmeosker 3 years ago
nof- So..just to be clear..are you proposing that we get rid of Social Security and Medicare?
Also, how is the Iraq war and our continued occuaption "defense"? It looks more like the game plan from the Project for a New American Century. Have you read their brief?
"Defense" has nothing to do with it and Friedman would not approve.

The amount of money in circulation compared to the gold we use as collateral are the controllers of inflation.
lethalcobra2k3 3 years ago
putting money into people's pocket to simulate spending creates inflation, not wealth.
Zhuangyao 3 years ago
Um ,no, Horribly wrong, the decreasing value of the dollar leads to inflation! If money is worth less, then it means you must spend more to get the same as you once did. The value of money and inflation are directly influenced by gold, the dollar value is dependent on how much money we print with gold as a collateral, if we say gold is worth "A", then print more money, the Value of "A" has decreased so gold is worth more, hence inflation.

jawnybnsc 3 years ago
A statement like that expects every presidential candidate to have had a personal hand in every single issue plaguing America. Within the Senate, the committees Obama is a part of are Veteran's Affairs, Foreign Relations, and Environment and Public Works, none of which necessitate changes by economic legislation. Attacking him for not having created economic legislation is like attacking him for not serving in the military. There is no intellectual basis for the criticism as it hardly applies.

The only candidate who truly understands economics is Ron Paul. If you want bottom up growth you need to get the government out of the way and out of our pockets. Government is not the solution, government is the problem!
gsuitter 4 years ago
The government exists to help the American people otherwise we might as well live in an anarchy. Under Bush and the Republicans Government has become a problem because they want it to run poorly. The problem is predatory companies exploiting workers, and rewarding CEO's with millions. When you put people in charge who claim government is the problem you end up with a broken government - big surprise!
bobaubin 4 years ago
Our founding fathers did not set out to create a government to "help people". Their intent was to protect freedom, liberty, justice and provide for the national defense. At least thats what they said in the constitution. Have you ever read it?
Anarchy is a state of lawlessness not a lack of government help or handouts.
gsuitter 4 years ago 2
The founding fathers set in motion a great experiment but they created a living document. Regardless "in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity" is only the first part where it mentions helping the American people, maybe you need to read it.
