Screw the Malibu.... When the Silverado/Sierra gets the same interior features (namely, the tilting/telescoping steering wheel) and a MPG rating in the 30s (instead of 20)... with OUT sacrificing the Power/Torque... (dual range gear box? one for highway driving w/MPG in the 30s, and a lower one for pulling heavy loads/as it is now) Then I'll be happy. :)

I like the current bodystyle better. Though the car isn't completely unfortunate looking, the tailights remind of the lights one would find on the back of a '70's model Chevy truck (square, protruding). I will give make a judgement once I see the '13 in person.
The new Malibu looks exactly like the Ford Taurus; right down to the touch screen interface called "MyTouch" (Ford = MyFordTouch). Also, the Malibu is a luxury car. The Pontiac Grand Prix was the only successful sports sedan of its day. Simply put, the vehicle has nothing to offer except for a touch screen and an ipod connector. GM will NEVER catch up to the likes of Hyundai and Kia in not only quality, but in price and features. Its no wonder they went bankrupt.

So, do you have to mess with that stupid touch-screen just to change the radio station or adjust the AC? That's exactly what I don't want in a car. In a recent article on this model, the GM rep kept insisting that customers would be happy to give up a few inches of legroom for "sporty" styling. It seems that GM and Ford resort to "sporty styling" (ie. cramped, over-sized cars) as a cheap substitute for decent acceleration.
@jad3948 because its still a fairly new technology that needs improvement for people that own businesses and drive long distances everyday or use their car a a taxi and not to mention its incredibly expensive like i would say this model would go from starting a 26k to at least 60k. it would be nice though
well we all know what opinions are like. i rented a new malibu a month ago and drove it 600 miles at low altitude. i thought it was a v6 but it was a 4 cyl. i got 32 mpg with the air on the whole time and im a hard driver. comfortable quiet car. i like it. btw 28 year mechanic- i know cars. thanks ford for paying for my house.

Not that I'm anti GM. I happen to like the Cadillac, Corvette & even the Camaro (from the outside) but Honestly I don't care for it. the Camero cues have no business on a sedan, the large bow tie emblem sickens me & the exterior is soulless. this car would only appeal to white America. I believe I am a true car enthusiest- one who respects cars from all different parts of the country, including USA and Japan. Japan builds good cars, and so does America, and so does Europe. Why do you have to hate something just because it comes from another country? Nothing wrong with Toyotas, and the Chevy is good too.

That is one of the best commericals ever for a new sedan. From the great Camaro styling to the Inception Hans Zimmer sounding music, it just works perfectly!!!.

Still don't like it... Chevys, especially the Malibu and Impala, just aren't my style of car... I wish the Saturn Aura and Pontiac G6 were still in production so they coulda benefited from similar redesigns. But I must admit regardless, GM is doing ALOT better than in past years.
Amazing car. Gm is finally putting out very nice looking cars. Let's see some optional choices on top of that, and a big v8 to put in it aswell as a ecoboost and we're set to go.

@clammax Yes, I agree. Almost all the cool new cars are American. But we still have a lot of knuckleheads here in California who will buy Japanese or Korean if that car is $100 cheaper. They are a pathetic lot here on the left coast. FTR, my next car will be 2013 Malibu or perhaps Cruze or maybe even new Regal. I'm not decided, but it will be Chevy, Buick or even perhaps Ford.

That is one of the best commericals ever for a new sedan. From the great Camaro styling to the Inception Hans Zimmer sounding music, it just works perfectly!!!.
and this is from a BMW 325i owner. I believe this saloon will be in my options for my next car...

Still don't like it... Chevys, especially the Malibu and Impala, just aren't my style of car... I wish the Saturn Aura and Pontiac G6 were still in production so they coulda benefited from similar redesigns. But I must admit regardless, GM is doing ALOT better than in past years.
