I read in The Guinness Gaming Records 2008, that Valve put in Lost references in Half Life 2, in return for when in an episode of Lost, some of the characters had a conversation about the effectiveness of Freeman's crowbar.

I think in that G-man sighting they're foreshadowing the end of Episode 2. It looks like he's at the north pole, noticed how sometimes, in that sighting, his tie is waving around in the air. That's because its very windy at the north pole. Why is he at the north pole? Thats where the Borealis is. At the end of Episode 2 you are about to go to the North Pole to find the Borealis. Could this mean that you will fully confront the G-man for the first time, and maybe the last? I can't wait to see.

Well, I hate to sound like a geek, but. If you fully confront G-man in episode 3, then it's not going to be for the first time you do. In half life 1 the G-man confronts you and speaks to you. But other than that I think you could be right :P
