uhhh as a guy I'd have to say idk, I just got my first tattoo yesterday and it hurt at first then my hand went numb so I couldn't feel it much. After it was done it stung and throbbed like hell but I'm glad I went through all that for the awesome tattoo I now have.

every tattoo i had felt different in good or bad ways as i was getting them, and it very much depends on the artists skill aswell. some people love the feeling and some hate it.. you decide =)

it really depends on where you get tattooed on your body,, some places hurt more than others, some skin areas are more sensitive,,some places have bones close to the skin and some areas have more nerve endings. but,, dont get one unless you rely want one,, and enjoy the pain,,it wont last long but the ink will always remind you juss as a child always reminds the mother of the pain of birth =)

Tattoo's aren't really that painful, feels more like a hot cat scratch but it depends on the artist as well as the person being tattooed.

It hurts, at least it did for me, but I hear it varies a lot from person to person and depending on what part of the body it is on.

I equate it to similar to getting your leg waxed, it hurts as it's being done, but then once they have stopped it is fine. Then healing is like having a scrape the size of your tattoo, which hurts, but it not unbearable by any means.

I got a bird done and honestly the bit that hurt the most was the beak outline and also the feathers...basically anything with a lot of detail...the coloring hurt the least.

tattoos hurt...but after a while the pain sort of becomes pleasurable...its hard to describe u get used to and it gets addictive...that's why very few ppl get just one tattoo...you just haveto go back for more

No, not really at all, getting an injection or having blood taken out is a lot different than a tattoo. Tattoos are closer to a bee sting than an injection, except the pain is pretty much gone once the tattooing stops.

It took me until i was 28 to get a tattoo, my advice is to make sure of what you want and where you want it and to be sure about it. Being happy with the outcome is far more important than whether or not it will hurt. The pain may or may not be there, a professional tattoo artist will be familiar with a wide variety of reactions so you shouldn't be embarrassed if it does hurt.

That is one way to see it, you may see it differently once you get older though. It's not always about knowing yourself, sometimes it's about being honest with yourself too.

To me picking the right tattoo is as important as picking the right spouse, it is a lifetime commitment and I'd rather spend time finding the right one for me than just picking the first one that I fall in love with.
