I would love to learn how to weave like this. Do you know weather it is possible to find a teacher in North America? Do you plan to, in the future make video tutorials on how to do this art?
@TheSecretHarp - I'm not sure if there's any classes for this in North Amreica, but I'm planning to start classes for 2012 in Toronto area in Canada if that helps. About tutorials, I don't think video tutorials will help at beginner level, but I'll take some during 2012 classes and post them. Hope that helps.
That is amazing. I am always impressed with items made by hand especially things this big. That is so beautiful. That must be a very special rug when you are done. Thanks for showing us this. I have a greater appreciation for rug making now.
easy! I just grab a threat of another colour and then change it when the colour changes. It is most confusing when there are several shades and tones of the same hue though.
I was searching to see if there is any place in the U.S. (California) where they teach how to make a Persian rug and I came across your video. This is a beautiful piece that you are working on. Where did you learn it in Iran? I also took the class many many years ago with Ostad Arabzadeh's daughter. I would like to know more about you and your shows. Many thanks for posting the video here.
that is awesome and absolutely amazing!! I wish I could make that kind of rug!!

what type of rug is this?

It is a Persian Rug but I am not going to put it on the floor and walk over it ... I will probably just frame and hang it on a wall.

The wool is wrapped around the treads and then tied before gets cut.
I leaarned the technique in Iran several years ago. The knots are very strong which make the rugs last forever!
shivagallery 3 years ago
how do you actually tie the knots? I am so interested in how this is done, would like to learn how to do it.
