i feel a lot of Voyager's regular characters were kind of flat. ironically, the Doctor and Tuvok - the characters supposed to be the most detached from emotional connections - were probably the most nuanced and interesting.
on the other hand, Suder was an incredible character that seeped mystery, unease, and pain in his every appearance. Brad Dourif squeezed so much in to every minute he had on-screen! i truly felt sad for what he had to go through in Basics Pt. 2.
like chucky. BUT man if he was 15 years younger at least, he could be the PERFECT actor to replace heath ledger as the joker in batman 3, i mean listen to his laugh in childs play he'll nail this part soo well,
Ah..I see. :)Forgot he was a Betazoid. :) I didn't know they all had black eyes. It made him look creepy. But I loved Basics parts 1 and 2!!!! :) This was the one episode where I wondered all summer long about what was gonna happen to the crew. :)
If you look closely, you can see that Troi definitely has eyes that look solid black. Troi is also only half-Betazoid. As for her mother, I can't really remember what her eyes look like... but if you watch other episodes that feature Betazoids (e.g. that episode with the Betazoid dude who bonded with a "living" ship), you can see the black iris. I think it's less noticeable on Troi and her mom since both have dark colouring compared to this guy.
I've seen numerous episodes with the Betazoids and have never noticed anything alien in their features. To me, they just looked like humans. You're not a nerd, you just seem to notice things I wouldn't.

The performances of Dourif and Picardo made this one of the very best episodes in the entire Star Trek canon. And I'm not even a big fan of Voyager.

he's such an underrated actor.
=] somtimes in his interviews he still sounds
like chucky. BUT man if he was 15 years younger at least, he could be the PERFECT actor to replace heath ledger as the joker in batman 3, i mean listen to his laugh in childs play he'll nail this part soo well,

that is exactly what i think
he would be the best joker ever (though heath ledger is fabulous aswell)....but brad dourif....would be the number1 for that

And his voice, he sounds a little bit like Heath's Joker as well. Wouldn't you agree?

I liked this guy's character on the show. But I thought his eyes looked weird.

He's a Betazoid. They all have black eyes, which is pretty much the only way to tell them from humans.
