i don't like the idea of the big monster having smaller parasite monsters. it takes away from the intensity of the big monster.

Not necessarily.

When you have the small monsters, it kind of intensifies it, because you have to be on the lookout for the HUGE one, so you aren't eaten/smashed, and the small ones will either eat you, or bite you and let you die painfully. Plus, they can get into the smaller spaces.

the real funny thing is that if he went to Japan then he would get fucked up by Godzilla and King Kong, on on his way to a store Mothra would land. so better one big monster then like 100 normal monsters.

no, there's a production notes thing you can download, and JJ says that the moster in one scene "scratches its back on a building, pulling the smaller mosters off" Also, the small mosters are "about the size of large dogs, but much faster"
