  • Is this game actually being released?

  • What we need is MarioKart AR for real world driving :D

  • Civilians don't look very different from the zombies.

  • this would be cool if they retooled it to work with VR glasses with extension to hand controls then created a game like risk or warhammer or some other table top game adaptation.

  • stupid commercial for Skittles :/

  • Všiml si někdo nápisu na krámu? Obuv :-)

  • This would be cool if it was smth like turn based strategy war game. Like Risk. So its kinda like a high tech, more dynamic board game.

  • this game looks sooo dumb, i cant wait for it to come out so i can make fun of it more. lol

  • @tylercal0, It's probably not nearly as cool as the AR game that you made, right?

  • aumented google earth

  • Imagine this life sized :D

  • looks like a bad back game

  • "If the number of zombies becomes overwhelming, you could always grab a packet of skittles and use them as bombs."

This is going to get me killed when the real Z-day comes.

  • really cool technology but it doesnt look especially fun to me

  • can you buy this game? XD that would awsome :DDD

  • Shitty boring game play based off an annoying but unique gimmick. I'm sure it'll sell millions!

  • Crap! I dont have any skittles! I know! Lets use m&ms!

  • 51 Zombies didn't like the game.

  • cool AR game. I have been using uDecore as well another cool augmented reality app

  • Kinda cool idea, when i first heard zombie AR fps, i was thinking, it would put zombies around you, on the ground, but i guess not... interesting idea, thanks for the upload

  • this is very interesting but I don't see it as taking off. imagine sitting on subway train and placing skittles on the floor, people think you are a crazy person.

  • @yurikomuro very nice argument /sarcasm

  • if ic olocated a soldier toy?

    or a chocolate or ....

    what .....?

  • do crazy sour skittles work too ? lol

  • @daplaya88 what a about m&ms?? :P

  • make this for the 3ds!

  • OBUV? Is this czech or slovak aplication ?

  • What happens if i shoot and eat the skittle? 0.o

  • A video game that needs skittles in rl AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

  • YUGIOH!!!!!!!

  • If game companies can,t find a way of getting full immersion with a pair of wearable "goggles" or eyepiece I will not be interested. Also I want peripheral vision cameras....You hear me game makers? PERIPHERAL CAMERAS..

  • Nvidia FTW

  • The CEO of skittles saw this and his boner stretched across the atlantic ocean

  • Holy Shit Jesus Christ Monkey Balls!

  • now thats cool... imagine what you could achieve with that system :P you could walk around a street with a console in which would appear enemies and youd shoot them and stuff... like walking around with a shooting camera instead of a gun and not shooting real people xD

  • @dAKarkoloAb Activision will turn warehouses around the country into 'Modern warfare 4' Everyone is given one of these and runs around the warehouse.

  • EARhrrrr rape

  • Why should play this crap,my direct x7 games looks better than this.

  • @Metalicalypse Your stupidity and narrow-mindedness hurts my soul

  • @Metalicalypse So? Tetris is super outdated and people still love playing it. have you ever heard of minecraft. the graphics are crap but i prefer it over COD even though i used to be a super hardcore COD player.

  • @orikid94 I didnt meant about the graphics at all, look at the physics and the A.I I also play old games and love them.

  • i remeber seeing this video at MIGS

  • Im not buying this crap it's not even real! I want real zombies!

  • No imagine an augmented reality tabletop RTS.

  • why not use your finger to kill the zombies

  • YES YES YES!!!

This is the right path for video games! the futer is going to be legen... wait for it... DARY!!!

  • who cares about the graphics

    this is amazing

i cant belive this is real ! !

seriously dont look at the graphics look at something that you NEVER see in your life...

  • lol skittle bombs

  • the zombies are so wierd hahaha they sound like dinosaurs look like aliens and attack like cavemen

  • It amuses me how people are criticizing the graphics and what not...do you not understand how epic this is...? seriously...

  • cool but have bad graphics

  • graphics are so bad

  • thats so cool skittles as bombs

  • Cool! you mean i get to hunch over uncomfortably while i play a game? I can't wait!

  • hope I can download this :)

  • haha ... future gaming ... you can't just sit down and play anymore

  • Actually topography would be interested if used with this technology. Augmented reality maps sound fun :P

  • @TheKaptainKool Interesting' >_>

  • The 3DS better have shit like this!

  • @Deiphiz it does, and it comes built in

  • @THENINTENDOLUMINARY I know that, but I'm concerned that AR games on 3DS will just be small, casual games. I want a mature, full length shooter on the 3DS like shown in the video.

  • Good job guys! Nice to see some new ways of mobile gaming! You have inspired me!!!!

  • What has science done?!

  • No one needs more purpose than shooting zombies!!

  • This is some weird shit, but just wait, in like 10 more years they're going to call Xbox 360 and PS3 " mad old".

  • @DmdWasserTanzt You mentioned it, stop sounding like a condescending dick.

  • OMFG, THAt'S ALL I'VE GOT TO SAY!

  • @DmdWasserTanzt Could people just please shut the fuck up about the 3DS already? Once AVR gets perfected enough, it's going to surpass some small 3D screen by miles.

  • Orange and green skittles? I'd rather eat them, seeing as they only do puny explosions...

I'm packing Oranges and Limes baby!

  • agrre with @nintendoalexwii

    the 3ds will pwn !!!!!!

  • @luisj96 until the NGP comes then... by by nintendo

  • amazing !!!

  • augmented reality + autocad pleaseee!!!!

  • Zombies hate candy. And Pac-man. And plants. And sunlight. And teddy bears. Using those things you can defeat any zombie.

  • Now I have to Buy Skittles too? Whats next? an Oh Henry memory Card?

  • you droped my skittles and also nuke half of the cith

  • This is an amazing job!! Hope to see this in the market soon!

  • shit! that means i have to buy a shit load of those maps. so i can "interact" with it!!

  • Taste the fucking rainbow ya damn zombie bastards!

  • WHo made this???

  • Video Copilot

  • just a helicopter doesn't move that fast. and this isn't a game that you can play on the bus or in class to pass time. I see no point in making this for mobile devices. having 3d goggles would be way cooler and connecting them to your PC would result in some way better graphics.

  • And if u have a small pet like a hamster or a guinea pig that should be a giant helping animal or something

  • SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE buy skittles if u want good weapons

  • Proportiionately, Those are some big-ass zombies

  • can you download it and where?

  • Can you imagine how amazing this would be for RTS and Dungeons & Dragons type games?

  • i never thought i can have so much fun with paper

  • im so in the mood for some skittles now!

  • haha if somebody else see you playing. you look like an ass

  • Matrix is coming...

  • Pretty awesome, but I foresee players complaining about back pain.

  • sick.. this is sick. supercool

  • bye bye monopoly hello board games of the future

  • skittles is now going to be infinitly rich.

  • i remembered I was also playing an AR game. But it was mosquitoes i was shooting at. :)

  • Wow Revolution

  • This is genius is it real

  • My grandkids are gonna make so much fun of Modern Warfare 2.

  • @memeremix fuck my life.

  • @memeremix i do today

  • it's an interesting research idea, but i wonder if the design is generated from a preconceived idea of what the product should be, or if the design is generated through something in the process of what augmented reality means. i feel as if though it was an interesting way to apply AR to make a playable game, but even then there are issues. for example, it's not really handheld if you have to hover around a table. if it's brilliant, i can't say, i'm not an expert.

  • you should be able to squish the zombies with your hand

  • My back hurts just watching this video. I couldn't imagine doing this for more than 15 minutes before my back woudl start to get tired.

  • Free Energy is real and its here! The Oil companies r doing everything they can to stop this

information. If you want a Free energy magnet motor , get the blueprints at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM , Join the

    revolution!

  • This feature has been confirmed to be on the 3DS. CHEERS.

  • sick... now where can i get some skittles

  • ARhrrr! my back!

the game looks fun but it can't be played for a long time. also, don't play with your food.

  • I got free games from Lockerz. Lockerz is a company striving to be the next big social networking site. Lockerz members are rewarded with prizes for using the sites features. It's a really fun and easy way to get free stuff from the Internet. Lockerz is a legitimate company and is funded by Liberty Media and many other companies. The catch is Lockerz is an invite only site so you have to be invited by another member to join! Luckily I'm giving away invites for FREE. Just message me for invite!

  • They need to port this for iPhone also, you'll buy the maps in a real store (maybe bundled with Skittles) and should receive a code to download the app in the Apple Store for free

  • it's meant to be dynamic, more like its meant to break your back, look at the position that dude's back is in. all hunched over

  • this should be on the iphone

  • It would be cooler if there were some bluetooth glasses that you could put on so you see just like how this presentation was given (showing the full screen)

  • I swear this is the future of gaming, one step toward total immersion. I hope the next generation of games are true 3d

  • @pjorgenson1979 i dig this but total immersion is a BS goal lol - i find chess pretty damn immersive with no glasses and augmented reality... but i hear ya... this is a new way of playing for sure.

  • This needs to be on the 3DS.

  • awesome

  • BAD. ÇÖP

  • You throw poor Skittles like a bomb?!

Microsoft's asian girl does not approve

  • AWESOME... Can i make my own maps and can i use green paper as skittles?

  • AC130 Active =)

  • What device is that? can consumers buy one?

  • wow! the skittles is what really made me say "sshhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiet!

  • needz glasses, lenses, mind projection, holographic projection, other types of projection and more.......with glasses and or lenses this technology have the potential to make all obese gamers quite the athletes, running around outdoors playing wow and fps shooters and whatnot else, also all profession can use the technology in infninte ways, endless possibilities folks

cmon mass produce this system already, make it in modules, so you can just replace modules like sound, processor etc....

  • If I knew jack about programming, I'd probably transfer to Tech in a heartbeat to work on stuff like this. I definitely see AR becoming big if it gets powerful and small enough. Heck, I might end up transferring anyway if I decide to go into acoustics. Need to check around, hehe...

  • Dynamic lighting looks like an alpha mapped overlay, but overall looks interesting.

  • Imagine this technology incorporated in 3D goggles... Dear lord, that would be awesome.

  • @thelossbloodlock i had a similar idea for augmented reality, im sure you have seen the monitor glasses that act as a computers moniter that you can wear, well mount a camera in the middle of it and then you basically have a virtual reality evironment, you can wear the glasses and see the room exactly how it is and then place markers around the room to make things appear or maybe place markers on a wall to changethe wall paper to see how different patterns look or how furniture looks in ur house

  • @lisn92 They have goggles that have two screens in them and a motion tracker, so for certain games (first person) when you move your head, your character looks around, and the mouse independently controls your weapon. The only problem is the headset costs like 300 bucks and very few games use this (unless you want to program it yourself).

  • @Mekose yeh but with them you would need a computer or laptop to use them, i was thinking maybe a palmtop or maybe areally small netbook in a backpack, and then been inside of a room that u can walk around and use markers to view characters and items in a game, kinda like a holo deck from star trek, and maybe if we discover tractor beam tech then it will be like a holo deck with fully interactive things, and to get the interactive part with the glasses u could put markers on ur fingertips

  • @lisn92 That gives me an idea. Imagine a big obstacle course or maze like room (think laser tag). Imagine an iphone app (with complementary 3d video screen goggles) that was a virtual reality world like tron or something. The entire building would have the app designed for it, so it would be a virtual reality thing, then you flick your iphone at people to shoot them. That would be awesome. (basically virtual reality laser tag).

  • @thelossbloodlock why 3D goggles when you can have a Nintendo 3DS?

  • @nintendoalexwii Are you fucking kidding me?

  • @nintendoalexwii Because the 3d on a 3ds only works for a miniscule angle of tilting the console.

  • @thelossbloodlock

    like 3DS ?

  • @med0000000000 No, I am not talking about some shitty nintendo handheld, jesus

  • I will never see skittles as candy again O_o

  • skittle bombs!

  • When is this going to be in the Android market?! :p

  • @ThomasWerff we're actually working on that right now. So maybe at the end of july?

  • Nice technology. Joyful female voice, while blood is splattering in the background and people are screaming for their lives.

The most horrific about this is how it has become so natural for us to design, program and enjoy all these violent dying scenarios. Augmented killing fields. Yeah, right, this time it's dynamic - you have to bend over the table to do your shootin' until you pop your spine.

  • nice, but could have better graphics

like the skittle bombs, but your don't necessarily need skittles anything with the required color works also, nice to see augmented reality software can identify colors not only patterns tho

  • @darklight436 better graphics... thats a high end graphics platform mobile phone... doing ALL the tracking and rendering... jeez... cant help some people can ya

  • AWESOME!!

  • oh lawd skittle bombs

  • make a fighting game like tekken with this and you will have the most awsome thing ever created.

  • I notice that during gameplay, use a single "city". Is it possible to have the game played in other locations, or using other sets? Also, how does the game decide whether or not a civilian has been "saved"?

  • Forgot to ask: Will other coloured Skittles or other objects eventually be implemented into the game?

  • @sagacious03 This was just done as a game demo. As created, new city maps would be done with new paper maps -- not an ideal solution. I have some students rethinking the game right now, actually. As for the saving part, they are saved when they reach the middle of the map.

  • YES! the future of portible gaming! it only takes up a whole table!

but seriously. although the concept is genius. in reality. it would never work as a "portable" game.

    HOME consoles? sure.

  • @Mihuzaki Right, the map is a huge limit, but that's just the state of technology right now. There are other ways to do it that would be more portable, but it wasn't really a design constraint for that project.

  • haha this guys bad!

  • can someone try this for DSi or am i gonna have to do it?

  • @t377y000 Go for it! The DSi is way too wimpy for something like this.

  • @AELatGT the dsi alreasy has some games that use aug r & theres some coming in the future. so im sure it can be done. i already do DS dev, im looking into DSi dev now.

  • @t377y000 The DSi has one marker tracking game (Invizimals) which uses really really cheap and easy tracking of a single square. Other "video motion" kinds of games are much cheaper in terms of processing. The DSi does not have the power to do the image-based 2D Natrual Feature Tracking used for this game.

  • @AELatGT theres lots more dsi games that do motion & Aur R, warioware snapped, ghost wire, systems flaw, 3D Hidden Picture, Foto Showdown, & the photo channel has some face reconising features.

  • @t377y000 Like I said, none of those "video motion" kinds of things are comparable; the photo channel stuff isn't either. But, hey, go for it, I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. But, I think you're wasting your time. :)

  • @AELatGT have you enen seen or played those games, do you own dsi???

  • @t377y000 yes, I have 3 DSi's ... and all of the AR-like games I can find (including Invizimals).

  • @AELatGT fun , why do you have 3?

  • @AELatGT You obviously don't. Invizimals isn't even a DSi game. It's a PSP game. -_-"

  • @AELatGT lol sorry about that, also do you think you can?

  • @AELatGT What about the 3DS?

  • thats cool.

  • The way the "shooter" is bending over makes me think of back problems added to carpal tunnel syndrome and other RSIs.

  • @Najwalaylah Yes, David was a little over-the-top in his bending over when he and Kim made the video; it makes my back hurt too! I don't really expect people would be quite so bent over if they really played something like this, at least not for long periods of time.

  • I can see the future where the video is integrated into a visor and in tactical body suits that the program augments to add a skin on top of anybody that's wearing it, and being able to pick up movements on different parts of the suit would allow the skin to move accordingly as well, and an entire area can be used as the map, like your house, or a paint ball field. (Don't mix the two... no paintballing in the house...) Please let me know what you think!! FPS safely in real life! ^.^
