I planned to use sign language with my daughter, who's now 6,5 months old, but I don't need to. She already starts to talk!!! She's saying papa, mama, the name of her brother and the word for drink/food in our language. At one hand I'm proud that she's so quick, but on the other hand I'm a bit disappointed, because I was really looking forward to using the signs. Maybe I'll start it anyway ;-).
It does look very similar. The cat sign she draws across the air and the light sign she holds stationary, but they are the same hand motion. As she gets older and can "pronounce" the word better, she will refine her method. :)
thank you. i know it seems amazing, but almost all babies can learn to sign if it is introduced to them. :) it just takes a little consistency to get a sign out of one so young, but it's well worth it around 15 months to help with tantrums/communication problems.

i know this baby that signs she wants to eat something by reaching for it and then tapping on her mouth and she does it until you give it to her

Your baby is so cute. When I have a baby, I will try to teach them sign language too.
