  • Love kasper!!!!!!!!!! Really stunning!!!

  • lolol at 0:07 seconds, Yulia and Oxana.

  • @bhojingle Lol, good noticing

  • Aww, I am really missing Bryan and Carmen right now :(

  • jaja.... Yulia - amerikanerin...

    seit wann denn?

  • Yulia is just wonderful here with Ricardo. But must say that Oxana nearly stole the show with her yellow dress and her dancing... mmm. I like Sukorov's disco interpretation of the Samba toward the end of this dance. Thanks for posting.

  • wahaha look at the 00:05 yulia and oxana just are starting at the same time and doing the same thing

  • i'm from nuremberg, too :)

  • The physical connection between Yulia & Riccardo is amazing. I dont mean the chemistry; their push & pull!

  • they're russian not german

  • He said 'Deutschland' = Germany.

  • look awkward but he only have lik a sec or two to think wher he cn head to so thts ok

  • That woman is actually Russian. :-)

  • Shes german.

  • With a name like that though, she must have some Russian heritage, no?

  • Just because her name is like that doesnt mean shes come from Russia..

  • Ksenia Kasper is Russian. Her and Markus just represent Germany.

  • @ProDancer6

Are you seriously trying to claim Ksenia Kasper isn't Russian?

  • I'm not claiming anything :) I don't see why your commenting on this video as your not a dancer..

  • @ProDancer6

Well, you're not a dancer either so why are you commenting on these videos?

  • LOL!!!! I am a dancer! Do you know anything about latin dancing?

  • @ProDancer6

So am I! But do you know anything about latin dancing?

  • I know alot, seeming as i compete.. and i know alot about every other style as ive studied them for years! I'm sure you do latin and ballroom but that's probably it...

  • @ProDancer6

I know a lot as well, seeing as I compete.

The fact that you do other forms of dancing is irrelevant considering this is about ballroom latin dancing. Depending on the style in question they may have varying degrees of similiarities, but that's it. Try to stick to the topic.

  • @ kcballroom. I don't know how many of Riccardo and Yulia's videos you've watched. But I might add that had you, you would've noticed that he most definitely did redirect her. You also might've noticed that he redirected her to where there was initially no couple and then that couple did some back progressive step. So honestly short of jumping over them what did you want him to do? Honestly.

  • I want Yulia's arms :)

  • @doidinha50 I'll take the legs! :)

  • sourkov rules

  • Why arent Micheal and Joanna here?

  • michael and joanna dont always compete in competitions which is why yulia and riccardo out ranks them in the official wdc rankings because of the number of competitions

  • this is song???please

  • cher - the shoop shoop song

  • Homm and Kasper are great here!

  • riccardo and yulia blow me away every time i see them :O absolutely stunning :) x

  • this orchestra is terrific! does anybody know who they are?

  • I think the Erich Erber Showorchestra. I have the Samba song. They've played it on GOC 2007 (Youth or Rising Stars...)

  • Riccardo is such a jerk at 00:49. Didn't he think they will let him through? Look at how much space he had to his left and still decided to go for it and Got OWNED -))

  • did u see he was doing FORWARD lock step...

  • So what? Couple at this level can't get out of this situation? U gotta be kidding me. He looked to where he was going and he saw at 0:47 the whole situation. Freeze it. U'll see. No lock steps there, just feet together. It takes ONLY a flip of his left wrist counter clockwise to redirect Yulia to the center. She was going backwards and didn't see.

No! He was just being regular Richardo Cocky.

  • anyway u got ur point!~but i still like himXD!~

btw u sounds kind of professional!~nice!~

  • @kcballroom

    "flip of his left wrist."

Ouch. If that's your understanding on how to lead girl in overturned positions I'd hate to be your partner.

  • I don't lead, I change directions. When UR overturned and have one hand connected what options do you have? Tell her? Tap her on the shoulder? -)) So you want me to explain what muscle groups of the hand and a wrist that are involved in a process of turning your partner on the Youtube?? -) U gotta be f&%*g kidding me. I have Masters in kinesiology and until you get BA , U will never be even considered for a partner, cause your understanding of simple mechanics is amateur's at best.Go study!

  • @kcballroom

That's nice that you got masters degree, but you obviously lack the knowledge on what body part you use to create natural lead in overturned positions. Hint: It's not the hand or wrist.

Maybe you should focus on your dancing studies?

  • You can do whatever you imagination tells you. The overturned position is no different than any other position. There are more natural and SIMPLE ways of doing things. Just cause you don't see it, doesn't meat it doesn't exist. Bye, Bye now.

Hint: Get a Physics book from a high school course and stop feeding me with your Bullsh*t

  • @kcballroom

Overturned position no different form any other position? Of course it bloody is. You're right in the sense it is no different from where you lead it. However, the way man positions hismelf to woman and how much free leg action, hip swing and rotation you need increases from the normal face-to-face position. And it still won't change to a hand lead or a "wrist flip", unless you're a fan of push and pull mentality which died like a decade ago.

  • The man leads the girl with the hand connection... That is the only connection they have which means he can only lead herr.. As yulia was doing contionous locks she wasn't able to communicate with ricardo.. You really are old fashioned.

  • @ProDancer6

Girl unable to communicate with a guy because she's doing continious locks? What? You do know she can reduce the length of her steps which pretty much tells the man that she has no space to move to because of the added pressure in hand, right? Which is a bit silly to begin with as he should be able to see it himself.

If you can only see the lead happening in the hand then you are old fashioned. That mentality died a long time ago, except for those who are behind times.

  • IF YOU LOOK AT THE VIDEO... YULIA OVERTURNS HER LOCKS AS SHE HITS INBETWEEN FRANCO AND SERGEY THEREFORE IT IS TOO LATE TO REDUCE HER STEPS... Okk what is your definision of leading the girl? Which is why most commentators. go look at the hand connection... Your the old fashioned one..

  • @ProDancer6

She reduced her steps. Otherwise she would've hit Sergey. It's just that Riccardo seemingly wanted to still continue in that direction. That's his fault, not hers. To say she was unable to communicate is wrong. To say he wasn't listening is right.

Leading comes from the shift of body weight and footpressure, rotation of sides, CBM, swing and tension in the body. Never, ever from hand.

  • I didn't say the rest of the body doesn't react and how U need to position yourself. It's all connected. But what first and what second? What is action what a reaction? Chicken or the egg? Look at the situation: Its an exception from whatever rules you flow or believe. We can disagree on the points and call it different, but the fact remains. Rich. (whatever he believes or his GF Shirley Ballas does- ) didn't do ANYTHING to prevent or avoid the collision. Don't get fixated on "wrist flip".

  • @kcballroom

I agree it was totally his obnoxious attitude that got them there.

Sorry I got fixated into the wrist flip thing. The mental image of it just made me wince a bit. Since leading isn't really that straightforward and is indeed factored by multiple things, it's sometimes hard to define where it originates from. In an overturned position it most definetly is the rotation of your side opposite to the connecting hand and the use of free leg to create a checking action.

  • It's Ok, sorry for jumping the guns myself. As long as we think out the box, there will be progress.

How can you step onto the studio floor and practice if you hear teacher next to you says: Push & Pull , push from the standing foot, body weight on the balls of the foot, leading from the center and my favorite..INSIDE EDGE -)) ? You will be emotionally disabled and drained -))

  • @kcballroom

Inside edge is a new term to me as well. Perhaps he is referring to the side of the leading hand?? :D

It's comical when coaches tell the dancers what to do instead of showing themselves to give tools for the dancers to do what he wants. Unless it's a couple who understands the movement language of the coach.

  • Let me correct you...not the hand ..the leading wrist -))

The coaches want to replicate themselves and make them feel what the coaches feel, but little do they know, that those students will only understand how through their own analogies, feelings, hard work ..etc.. and they only need right directions, ideas..and as you said tools..and nothing else, so they can be free to create and not to copy.

  • @kcballroom

Indeed. Many coaches don't understand the simple fact that the same things don't work for everybody.

For example, I could never ever work with the girl dancing with her arm straight like Serena Lecca teaches, but that works for some couples. Like Katsevman/Manusova for example.

And sorry, I actually meant "the side of the connected hand". ;)

  • @kcballroom

But what is most important is what works for the partnership. It's not always straightforward either. As many have said there are many ways to Rome.

  • There used to be one way through London. And some (a very few) are still think that road is still exist. -))

  • @kcballroom

Let me guess. They are all British? ;)

It's sad how much emphasis and power we give to England in the world of dance, considering how many top couples actually emerge from there these days.

  • The Last one Was Paul Killick ..and....that's it -) But if you look at Blackpool Congresses or the similar venues where English teachers are present, they still trying to hold on to it, like: Wallie this, Wallie that, Wallie was the god.. etc.

  • @kcballroom

Yes, Walter Laird, the author of the ballroom latin bible. That book is outdated in many senses. It was written few decades ago after all

  • @AceyBlade

It is only useful material to some extend, if you don't treat it like a Bible, but then you have to pass your exams with examiners that treat it as such, you must compete and get your placements from the judges that are stuck in a past (not all of them but most coming from that era). They just hold on to it so tight, living in a denial. They refuse to let go and upgrade or even think outside of the box.

  • maybe its the choreo as well from the way yulia was spinning I dont think there's a way to keep the choreo, pace and connection going and move yulia out of the spin and to his left. You have to take into consideration that judges are also strict with direction as to how how much of a diagonal to center and wall they should be moving, I think it what he did was a better move than moving and changing entire choreo to the left

  • Homm and Kasper blow me away

  • I feel they have come so far since the start of this year, they were an absolute pleasure to watch at this comp.

  • Comment removed

  • @xxtupikxx i like them much more than yulia an riccardo ... *_*

  • yulia´s just awesome, doesnt matter with whom she´s dancing

  • that's so true...

  • Luv Yulia and Riccardo! They are in a league of their own!
