There are only a few of these documented, I have even talked to the current owner of Cunningham horns & he even told me that they are very rare. There were several smaller models, but the 6B is hart to find. Where did you see it for sale at Humburg? I work for for Mercedes-Benz and have friends in Germany, I could have one of them check it out. If it is a 6B & half the price as you state, I will buy it and give you a finders fee.

I am an organist and pipe organ technician -- I get a thrill out of playing in a big room with its reverberation -- same principle with your air horn in the tunnel.

Having been a nurse in the USAF and dealing with aviators' hearing, do you have a means of getting a decibel reading on those beasts? I'll bet it's a pretty scary reading. I sincerely hope you're wearing good hearing protection.

Big Mike is what my friends call me since I use to be a competitive Bodybuilder back in the early 90's. I still lift weights and I weigh in at 272lbs at around 12%bf. I'm from Southern California, That's explains the SoCal part of my screen name. The Doran-Cunningham 6-B is 168 1/2 lbs without the flange. This Horn is so rare that there's only one other guy that I know off that has one. These horns stopped production in the mid 50's. And it was not mass produced. They were special order only.

This powerful Doran-Cunningham 6-B is very rare and has not been made since the 1940's (less than 10 are known to still exist).This horn I've seen go up as high as $8,000.00 (I've been offered more for mine)when at a rare occasion that it does show up for sale.The Scion XB is my daily driver,since I drive over a thousand miles per week.I chose the XB for the great gas milage and for it's surprisingly large interior.I have an 1996 Pro Street Impala SS for race only.Good luck on the horn hunting.

Sorry bro, I'll never sell this horn. This was the hardest horn for me to get. It's very rare. As far as I know the only other 6B out there in use is by Adam (Airraidsiren here on youtube).The closest horn to the 6B would be a Leslie 300 or a Clark Cooper Type 12. Prepare to pay a lot of money for a 6B.Last month a collector in Canada offered to buy mine for more than I paid for it.I declined the offer. Money can always be made, but I might not find another 6B.Good luck.

My Doran-Cunningham 6-B has stamped markings at the footing of the horn that reads"USS DD416".I've done my research and found a match for those numbers.Not 100% sure, but it seems that it is from the sunken US Navy destroyer Walke.Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, on 15 November 1942,USS Walke was sunk by Japanese torpedoes and gunfire,with the loss of more than a third of her crew.I don't know if this was a spare horn,or if this came of the actual ship.The former owner or this horn has passed away
